Amazing band, amazing show and thank god TBDM had their own soundman as the opening bands got robbed. Local soundman or whoever did not know what to do with the wet blob the double bass drum turned into. Otherwise amazing.
Did the other acts on the bill has 'triggers' for their kicks? or just mics?
@@itLEAKED I thought triggers just gave an even sound (like if you hit harder on one leg)? I wouldn't be able to tell (visually) if it was triggered or not....maybe? Sound definitely blurred together like a bass tube. Funny thing is someone also had footage of Frozen Soul and it sounded good compared to myself and my bro-in-laws experience.
Triggers = picks up your hits, plays a sample in place of each hit. Allowing for perfect kick samples, if you are a band using FAST kick patterns. It is a godsend. Sometimes people use them together with mics, to trigger gates on them. Lots you can do.

01:54 I don't know if non-drummers know how fucking clean this is on the double bass... my god. You can really tell the best from the rest apart live, and Alan's truly accurate. If you really listen closely, a lot of drummers might not even miss a note, but not be perfectly clean. Alan's just extremely accurate in his tempo.
Isn't the part at 1:00 harder to play clean? Blast beat with rhyhtmic figures on the bassdrum? I'm honestly more impressed by his triggers. Many drummers can play very clean doublebass but the triggers aren't set up correctly so they are either mis-triggering or leaving out notes completely.
@@GrotesqueSmurf I'd say it's harder now that I think of it, that kind of accuracy when starting up and slowing down bursts is very hard to nail live. That being said, I guess I'm just so used to awfully triggered drums and performances where drummers struggle live (long tours, stamina-draining music, etc) so I really appreciate the longer double bass runs being very precise.

I think eventually they should get a proper vocalist but Brian didn't do too bad but its hard to follow in Trevor's footsteps
What is a "proper vocalist?" Brian has been singing on tracks for years at this point... He is doing great. It wouldn't make any sense to bring an outsider into the band just to imitate Trevor.
@@neszero It's commendable that Brian kept the band going and he's doing the best he can do but it's just not the same. We'll see when the new album comes out to see how it goes.
Yes, sadly it will never be the same. But the shred must go on. Absolute legends imo.
It's no issue on an actual album. Brian has been destroying live without a big deal so far and the record will be just fine.
