You have to take into account that he was devastating the Imperial Fleet seconds prior and that Coruscant and the Death Star are both heavily populated and layered... Not mentioning that Coruscant is supposed to be the most populated planet in the galaxy at this point.
If we’re going to be realistic (which is pretty far fetched already but bear with me) Yoda should’ve at least rendered Coruscant mostly uninhabitable and completely destroyed the Death Star, this isn’t a hydraulic press pushing on the temple, this is a planet colliding with a “moon” that also happens to be extremely explosive.

Ioan Jordan oh no... When you drop a moon on a planet with a population of over a trillion, you effectively wipe out all life on that planet. The impact would destroy Everything on that hemisphere. The resulting thermal energy would scorch the atmosphere utterly destroying the planets biosphere, and the kicked up debris and irradiated materials would black out the sun and make the air that was left completely unbreathable. Aside from thosr who could escape on a ship and weren't killed immediately, the remaining population would survive for a matter of hours before succumbing to environment toxicity

@@costistoiciu4863 It's not like killing was strictly forbidden for Jedi. They were doing it all the time when it was necessary. For example Obiwan was not suprised at all when he learnt Anakin killed Dooku, of course he didnt know that the Senate talked him into doing that and that it took him down the path of the Dark Side, because he didnt know Dooku was unarmed and could be captured, but in general killing during war was not a problem for the Jedi Order. Canon Yoda probably would sacrifice billions to execute the last Sith Lord in existance and bring balance to the force, if he was ever given this choice, and he was here.

If there's one "what if" story I would like to see done, what if Owen Lars let Luke go to the imperial flight academy? Luke was already a skilled pilot so he would have definitely shown promise and became an imperial Ace and likely assigned close to the Death Star and to Vader. Without a doubt Vader would have sensed Luke's potential and strength in the force, he would subtlety test him till he was certain of Luke's power and then provide his guidance to help him realize his full potential. We would then see Luke as Vader's right hand man, convinced that they are restoring peace and order to the galaxy, motivated by a lie by Vader that his father (who Owen had told him was a freighter navigator) was killed when pirates working for the rebels attacked his ship. By the time the events of Episode 4 begin, Luke stands at Vader's side and assumes Vader's role in capturing Leia, destroying Alderan, and is there when Obi wan faces Vader, perhaps aiding his master in the fight against the last of the Jedi. Before Obi wan is killed by Vader, he reveals to Luke that his father did not die at the hands of the Rebels, but that Vader is is father. Obi wan dies but Luke is left troubled by what he's discovered, Vader does his best to explain himself to Luke but his trust in him is shattered. Spurred on by the voice of Kenobi, Luke goes to Leia and decides to free her and they escape together. Vader is upset by this betrayal but the emperor assures him that they will both be back eventually and they begin using the Death Star against the rebellion, one planet at a time. With Leia at his side, Luke must now begin a journey of redemption in order to return and face his father and and destroy the empire that had corrupted and twisted him.

From what I remember, this was part of Peter David’s rejected pitch for Infinities, that the droid never malfunctioned so Luke went to the academy of his own volition. It ended with Leia ruling the galaxy as a Sith, and Luke as her lover since no one told them about the incest thing.

@@jackhummer8344 consider this though: the Rebels as a whole were always terrorisits, but because the main story is built around them, the audience never sees it that way.
Luke would've been better off not blowing up the Death Star. The galaxy's in better shape then it currently is in canon. 😂

Coruscant is the richest and most influential world in the galaxy and a population of 2 trillion plus, The ripple effect would have create chaos throughout the galaxy.

Martha Sviniard the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs was only 6 miles across. That’s it. Six. The crater it produced was 100 miles wide. Even if the Death Star was traveling very slowly, it still fell well above terminal velocity, and the seismic disturbance generated by such a large mass would trigger earthquakes big enough to kill billions. A 7.0 killed 200,000 people in real life. This would generate at least a 10.0 on a city planet. Think of the literally hundreds of millions of structures that would be collapsing. Each easily with thousands of people in them.
Finally, this is a comic. The atmospheric friction thing could easily have been writer oversight. It’s implied to have been traveling thousands of miles per hour. Because why not? Yoda would *fly* it into Palestine if he could. Even just letting it fall would cause it to achieve speeds of thousands of miles per hour.
Martha Sviniard don’t forget, the Death Star wouldn’t just destroy the area it directly flattened. As even shown in the comic, there was a huge explosion.
It's really fun to imagine Yoda just walking around talking and having the Troopers repeat everything he says as he says it.

I kind of like that original trilogy didn't ended up like this, I mean Ewoks beating the empire is one thing, but Yoda committing mass genocide is another, but I most say, it was very epic.

The evil Leia and all the Skywalkers against Palpatine is honestly an amazing story. I wouldn't have minded a varient of this story on the big screen.
