I can't deny techno is part of edm by the moment that is all electronic music but I'm also sure you know that sadly nowadays edm is known as this played by people like garrix, guetta, Steve Aoki wich should be underlined as the mainstream part of edm while techno needs a clear distinction having an older, larger identity being born in the early 80s when the mainstream edm was really far to come and many of his main characters weren't even born. And I'm happy that event like tomorrowland opened to techno, they probably understood that the crowd of early years was growing and getting bored of mainstream and discovered somewhere else techno music helping it to finally gain the light it needs and lose the dated adjective of underground that doesn't really fit anymore. It would be absurd to consider something underground applying to its "basement origins" also an idea of something hidden from the big public by the moment that techno moved, move and will move much more bodies than mainstream edm did, do and will ever do

I still have the first CD I ever heard of Dubfire. Its Global Underground no 31 from April 2007. Since then when I see his name, I take notice.
He was part of Deep Dish (collaboration with Sharam) pre-2007. Go listen to Deep Dish.
How empty was your life before knowing Dubfire :) ! Check out his Boiler Room live from 2011 at ADE ! His sets was even much better at that period !
