I think it's more because Valve cared about getting new players into competitive, so they want the game to look good when someone is streaming competitive or making a video
i agree they should have made official highlander instead of this, that's what i always wanted :/ just check all the class you agree to play before queue-ing and there you go
@@mysticaltree4875 hu... if someone leave they can just keep the match going and replace it with a person who checked "i agree to join game in progress" they can give a penalty (temp ban) for players leaving ongoing match and xp bonus for people who check this box. queue time would still be faster than comp, because i'm sure there would be much more people willing to play highlander than 6v6 and if you still think queue time are too long, you can simply check every class before queuing and check the box, and you will quickly find a match i don't think it's impossible at all, they just have to make the good choices when creating it
I quite often play competitive with a team of my friends and I want to say a few things: 1. Playing this mode since January this year, we met only 2 cheaters. One of them was divided, and the others were played for 1.5 hours. 2. The main problem with this mode is a long wait. The more people in the party, the longer it takes to find a game. 3. People who leave during the game / beginners who do not understand. And so often you can often meet strong guys with whom it is interesting to play :)
This reminds me a lot of the orange box. Before I got my PC a few years ago, I played TF2 on the Xbox 360. You can surprisingly find some servers, but you know everyone in the community. Only stock, no airblast, no moving buildings, and like 6 maps. It's simple, but its charming. I play on PC now, but I definitely had a lot of experience first starting out.
I would like to see more ppl playing competitive, its so nice, no bots, no random crits and no bullet spread. It sucks when someone leaves and the lobby just ends, idk why ppl search for competitive and then leave, they are fucking anoying.

those matches went so well! at least, when considering the expectations people have now-a-days for comp matches. you also only had one hacker and he was still shit. I've heard bad thing about it for so long I really didn't think anyone could have good/passable games with it.
Dude yeah, I've started playing comp just because I can't escape the bots anymore so I figured I'd just give comp a try and get my badge up some more. Comp is actually pretty fun, people still aren't super talkative at least in my games, but it's still pretty fun. :>
My team was doing well and electricity in our house was gone and counted my disconnect as lose. Wi-Fi in my home was really good with no lag, yet I couldn't even join the game for most of the time.

@@RagingInsomniac I know this is a really late response but the queue times for Mecha Engie aren't too bad either. Although Oil Spill and Steel Trap are almost certainly dead yeah.
It's mind boggling to me that a player like voro didn't make much of an impact in these matches LMAO. I play this comp shit from time to time, and I somehow always get put on teams with people who are playing their first match. I have the expert assassin rank for crying out loud. But I won't complain, the gamemode can be really fun, if not for the ridiculously unbalanced teams.
I would say most people at IM or like ugc silver level (when that used to exist) will end up getting competitive mode's gold tier rank(expert assassin-death merchant). You might have noticed that almost all the people you ended up playing against had very low ranks shown at the end of the match. That's not by accident- the majority of players in comp mode have around bronze tier rank and since the match maker tries to make fair matches gold tier players will have a hard time finding a game. At the end of your 5th match I think it showed a gold comp logo so it's probably already paired you off in that category. That's why it took an hour to find another match. If you want to find bot-free simi-competitive games I would recommend playing a more passive class like medic so your rank can fall more in line with the rest of the player base. My alt account that I made for comp mode is like bronze 3 and I can find like 3 comp matches in a row even after midnight where my main account at gold 2 can't find a game after hours or even days in most cases.
