I'd recommend an overhead reel and rod combo with around 800 - 1000 yrd line capacity of 60lb and a 6ft 100lb leader, Use steel tracer on shark etc..Get amongst the bigger species.. Great vid, cheers from Western Australia.

How does the fish finder and depth finder work if you are using the hand controller? Can you show a video what shows on the fish finder screen while it travels to a certain spot and can you review the travel afterwards? Say I want to drop my bait at a depth of 20 feet at the same time I am using the hand control. How is this done? Thanks in advance. Rod in San Francisco
Catch anything??? I am gonna buy one for sure! In case you use a spinning reel (eggbeater), don't just loosen the drag and let it unwind that way. You will create line twist if you do it like that. With a spinning reel you need to open the bail. With a multiplier reel you can just loosen the drag because it also winds the line that way, unlike a spinning reel. So with a spinning reel you need a buddy to control the line because it will just fall off the spool with the bail open. Important! Line twist is no good.
With all the wind noise in this video it makes it very hard to both view, and understand what they are saying. Other then that, it would have been nice to see the boat go all the way passed the breakers, or at least passed my casting distance. As for what the video does show, here are my thoughts. The boat looks to be weak, and struggling trying to maneuver through the waves, and that's with no added or very little added weight. This could be the fault of the operator behind the controller, I don't know. However, from what I see here, I can't imagine trying to send out a 4 once chunk of shark bait with a 5 or 6 ounce sinker. I saw nothing here that makes this boat worth $679.95, or $1,199.95 for the fish finder version? The title of the vid says Fishing Surfer TEST. I feel the producers of this so called test could have done a lot better job. All I saw was a 200 dollar at best toy with a small piece of bait and a 2 once sinker getting knocked around in the surf. I would like to see a true test of this product. Such as, distance test, dropping off bait, return to home, and return to home after lost signal. Also would like to see how much loud, weight this boat can lug, and how the boat handles a 2 to 3 foot surf with that load. That is just to name a few test I'd love to see, because I feel those and a lot more true test could and should be demonstrated before I invest $1,199.95 dollars. TEST, all this video tested was my patients with very poor sound quality, hoping the whole time to see the capabilities of this product, which I sadly say I did not. Based on this video I would not recommend nor myself purchase this boat. Good try, and thanks for the video, but honestly this video should be tagged, "Bad for Business" and deleted. PS: I will not apologize for being honest. lol 😝
Hi James, We have real surf fishing guys, testing this for over a year, and have never had the speed be an issue, its not designed to be a speed boat, its working fishing boat
It would have been great to see if any fish was catch, cause is not cheap the little boat, so if you go to the pier and cast it would be the same thing.

You need a separate stand or mount for the fish finder. You just have to monitor while the boat is going out

About 3-4 hours continuous use, its a BIG 9.6v 14 AMP LiFe battery, if you switch it off between trip it can last longer

Our guys testing it have done well with with various reels, but you dont want too much tension while its taking the line out

IMO, its too slow and can only take very light swell. not promising for taking heavy baits out, especially at night
