    An alternative to steaming drapes is to put the drapes in your dryer on low with a clean, damp wash cloth (wet half of the wash cloth and wring out fully) to get the wrinkles out of the drapes.

      Wow thats a genius hack! It wouldn't work with my dryer (the fins are broken and wrinkles don't come out) but that is SO smart!

    Never knew the name of those “pins”. I don’t enjoy going to a store and try explaining to a clerk what I’m looking for 👵🏼
    So YES, at 73, you taught me !!!!

    Excellent tip on hanging curtains! Love that you went blue colored drapes and not white!! Very beautiful and classier with using colored drapes! Definitely looks more expensive!

    Lovely video - nice look...I also pronounce "curtain" the way you do (glottalization is pretty common in the eastern U.S., from what I hear) so I had no idea this was such an issue until I saw all the comments 😂! I mean, regional accents are a thing, ya know, and if you're tapping all of your T's all the time, you're doing the most lol.

    Your room looks beautiful Marissa! Thanks for sharing this tutorial. So helpful! I might need to do this for my daughter's bedroom depending on measurements. First I gotta get her carpet pulled up, floors down and walls painted, etc.

    How would you get these cleaned when it’s time to do it? How would the double sided tape react to washing the curtains in the washer?

    My daughter is moving into an apartment that has two windows on either side of a corner and start almost at the ceiling. We thought we’d use the IKEA Vidga Ceiling Track to wrap around the corner. Question: can we use Grommet Curtains? If so, what is the best way to attach them to the track glides? Or, should we use the Riktig clips on the regular IKEA panels?

    This is great, thanks! But you went a bit fast. Is the top hem of the curtain open a bit to slide in the RikTig? Or did you go between stitches? Thank you!

    Hi I found your video while trying to figure out how to best hang my IKEA velvet curtains from the vidga ceiling tracks. It was a huge struggle to hem them using the IKEA SY tape. I am thinking I should by the tape you used, but is it safe to wash the curtains with the double sided tape you used??

    • @Barelykeepingittogether
      @Barelykeepingittogether  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I highly doubt it! But also you’re not supposed to wash just steam!

    It’s like you know my life. I just bought some IKEA curtains I’ve been putting off hemming and I bought that stupid iron on instead. Your tape is a lot cheaper. Joann’s charged me per yard for their Velcro.

    Such good ideas here.. Please put a "t" in curtains. I work with children's speech on this daily so it was more noticeable to me. A little bit of a distraction.

    So the reason u used the wire curtain rod was it was the only way to affix them.

    • @Barelykeepingittogether
      @Barelykeepingittogether  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used the wire because it was the easiest way to get the length I needed. There are other options as well.

      The cuteness of mispronounced words ends when one is about 5 years old. After that it isn't cute. Mispronunciation is different from an accent.
