- In honor of the passing of Director of Photography Owen Roizman on January 6th 2923 at the age of 87. I've posted some footage I shot on location with the movie Tootsie.
My master 3/4 tapes have decomposed and I was able to put these scenes together by using two analog copies, so excuse the weak audio and imagery, but I thought you would want to watch the rehearsals for the closing scene of the film.
I was friends with the director Sydney Pollack who allowed me to come on the set and tape various scenes of the movie.
Owen Roizman received five Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography, for the films The French Connection (1971), The Exorcist (1973), Network (1976), Tootsie (1982), and Wyatt Earp (1994).
Other films include: Network (1976); Absence of Malice (1981); True Confessions (1980) Play it Again Same (1972); The Rose (1979); Liza with a Z (1972); The Heartbreak Kid (1972); The Electric Horseman (1979): Taps (1981): The Return of a Man Called Horse (1975) : The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974); The Adams Family (1991) The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight (1971)The Stepford Wives (1975) among others.

Always heart pulling to see simple daily life behaviour from the pre-computer and phone dominated world: normal dress, light humour and philosophical calm. Boy has the world changed. God bless everyone.

Was this scene later dubbed?
It certainly doesn't seem so in watching the film. This is the final scene and the dialogue is in sync.
