    I bought a 2016 model last year, looks like you have done about all the mods I've thought of doing to mine. I am currently looking at the barkbuster hand guards and windscreen.

    Thanks for the reply. I’m going to have to do some more recharge this coming season.

    Chuck, I think all of us can identify with dropping the bike in the driveway or garage.

    Nice windshield, is that the biggest they make? All the other bikes I have had were fitted with Big windshields. I have always had cruisers. My last bike was a Valkyre. The windshield was very nice. I know I couldn’t ever have something that big on a FJ09 but a bigger than stock unit would be nice. How does that unit work for you compared to the stock unit? I really like the FJ. I’ll have to test ride one this spring. I live in the burbs of Chicago so no bike ridding for me for a couple of months!!!! Burrrrbs of Chicago!!! We had a really bad morning yesterday BLACK ICE everywhere!!! I saw at least 6 cars and trucks that flew off the road from the black ice. All 6 of those people ware within 3 miles of each other. The traffic reporter said she had not seen so many crashes being reported in any other morning commute!!! The roads were fine by 9 AM after the sun started to warm the black asphalt!!

      I have the medium windshield size, it's a little larger than the OEM, but works way better. The air was very turbulent and loud with the OEM windshield. It's not real quiet at highway speeds, but I always wear earplugs anyway.
      It's been pretty cold riding in the early mornings, people ride all year. There's snow and ice an hour north in the mountains, so no riding there for a while.

    Hi is it your FJ-09 the speed limited to 114 miles per hour? I just bought my FJ and I found this unpleasant surprise, the dealer never told me that the bike has 15-20% less final speed than the FZ-09. Thanks for your videos!

      I didn't know about it either, until after I already owned it. Yamaha put a 115 mph speed limiter in the ECU. www.vcyclenut.com can correct that for $200 plus shipping. The re-flash also fixes some other annoyances and will re-flash for free anytime. Thanks for watching...

    nice vidéo...i have a question about those side-bags...can you put a full-face in there ???

    • @dogsnmotorcycles
      @dogsnmotorcycles  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A full face won't fit, but you can attach the bags for the FJR-1300 and a full face will fit. I opted for the narrower bags.

      chuckasaki i curently own a FJR1300 2016...love it...the only bug for me...it is a heavy bike...and i am 145 lbs 😂

      I was looking at the FJR-1300 and the Kawasaki Concours for my 2nd bike, but even tho I'm 6' 230 lbs both were very heavy, so I chose the fj-09 at 460 wet. Within a week of getting it, the bike fell over with no one around and I could easily pick it up myself, so I'm glad I chose the fj, but I sure wish it was a shaft drive like the fjr.

      It's the medium, seems to work good for me.

    how are the bark busters on keeping the wind off your hands?

    • @dogsnmotorcycles
      @dogsnmotorcycles  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have them set to high to block the most wind and they work pretty well. When it's really cold, my fingers still get cold, but they would be a lot colder without some wind cover. The back bone structure of the hand guards are very substantial and protective, my main concern. I'm very happy with them overall.

      chuckasaki sweet, I still have the stockers, don't really block much wind ...will have to get me a set of bb's

    • @dogsnmotorcycles
      @dogsnmotorcycles  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      My stock hand guards broke, but I never liked the look of them anyway. You'll still have some air, but not the hard blast of wind on your hands.

    Hi, how do you rate the comfort on the tracer? Thinking of getting one. Have you been on long rides?

    • @dogsnmotorcycles
      @dogsnmotorcycles  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people have said the seat is too firm, but it feels ok to me, so our individual body mechanics and preferences may differ. I've been on rides longer than 8 hours with short breaks for fuel and such. The upright position is very comfortable for me and since the windscreen upgrade, higher speeds are a little quieter and more comfortable. Sometimes I put my feet on the frame sliders for a stretch or stand for a few minutes at slower speeds. I would have no issues taking longer rides. I hope it's as good for you.

      eric molimard I have been on a few 300+ mile rides on my FJ-09, and my major complaints with the FJ-09 are twofold: First and foremost, the lack of cruise control on what Yamaha brands as a Supersport Touring bike is a critical oversight. On long straight stretches, my wrist becomes fatigued. Second, the bike is electronically limited to something like 125 MPH; not that I cruise at that sort of speed, but it gets back to the "having it and not needing it" philosophy. What do I do if I'm being chased across the desert by baddies in a car that does 130 MPH? (Question my life choices, I suppose.)

    • @dogsnmotorcycles
      @dogsnmotorcycles  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** I agree that electronic cruise control would be really nice, I don't want one of those throttle locks, but the cramp buster helps and it's only $10.
      An ECU flash can cure the speed limiter, but if I'm being chased at high speed, (unlikely) there are other ways of dealing with that. Ride safe...

      WoodstaS I think long motorway rides are going to be a pain unless you are on a gs or Africa twin. I have a R1 at the moment and eventhough I want something more comfortable I still want a good birthday of power. Maybe the Mt10 is better option.
