Oh man if only this was available to watch last year when I did mine. According to the forum I had to take the whole front headlight assembly apart to get the windscreen on. Oh well haha.
@@MtnMoto So what are the roads like from where your at? Have you been to the Black Hills area in South Dakota? I'm about 5 hours east so I make the ride to the hills a couple times of the year to get twisties.
White Chocolate I have quite a few excellent canyons just minutes from my house. Honestly i would guess 95% of the miles on Empress are in the Canyons.
Looking forward to seeing how much of a difference the windshield makes while riding. I think the sticker will make the windshield blend in a little bit better and look like a factory part.
Thanks Brotha. I got one ride out with the new screen. I didn't get to a high enough speed where I felt the difference but reviewing the footage was incredible. Much less wind noise, even up to triple digits! 👊✊👌
hello, yesterday I mounted the Plexiglass smoked 'clear of the puig, very beautiful, a pity that it does not perfectly complacency, and creates an anomalous crowning to the windshield, and will certainly deform in the future.
I got it front AF1 Racing in Austin but it didn't fit the double bubble. Different years had different colors and they have them sorted by model year. You're welcome
You have to pop the three bottom plastic tabs under the front fairing and the two head-unit bolts left and right of the center of the unit to fully disengage. After doing so, you can line up the screws and the screen without issue and easily, and your seam that you are disapointed with will disappear.
Not sure I follow -- the 3 bottom plastic tabs are the the black plastic push rivets, correct? And not sure I understand what the two head-unit bolts left and right of the center of the unit means. Do you have a pic or little further clarification? Installing on my 2017 now it's a pain!
Jacob Keiner you are correct as to the three plastic tabs. Once you gently(!) pop those, stand up and circle to the other side so that you are facing the dash. At about 4 o’clock on right and 8 on the left you will see the bolts to loosen. They free up the bottom of the unit but are easily reattached. Once done, perform your removal and install and go thru the same process in reverse. I am not with my bike and am doing this from memory but am confident that it is a correct description. You just need to take your time and be methodical. Don’t lose patience as it can be frustrating to Remove/Replace the windshield.
@@Mr_Lemon_Law thank you!! I have those large bolts out as well (actually have the air intake ducts off as well so I can remove the whole front end). I found this video that is describing exactly what you are saying. Posting here for others so hopefully can help th-cam.com/video/7id6t4KFr_M/w-d-xo.html
Just got one of these screens, did not fit worth a shit. Sent it back and was able to find an OEM European smoked screen (not an easy task). Looks awesome!
There are risers you could use, actually I'm considering going to flat bars which would lower the bars about an inch. All personal preference tho. Shiny Side Up👊✊👌
Hello from across the pond. While I’ve watch lots of taller screens added, I wonder why people don’t fit the phone power pick up? Is it a special part that takes for ever to be in stock. Looking great so far ATVB Dave
Thanks Dave, I think there was some confusion initially on whether the was a power port in the 2017+ Tuonos. In the 2016 and older dashboard there was plenty of space on the left of the tach and Aprilia sold an accessory USB port for these bikes. It took us a bit to discover the power port is still there, just Aprilia isn't releasing an installation kit for the 2017+, it's on us to install it and modify the panel to fit. 6-8 months ago the old kit from Aprilia was about $90. They have since lowered it to under $30. I expect more of us will be installing it now. Mine arrived today and I'll be doing an install video fairly soon on it. Shiny Side Up👊✊👌
I've only had her put a couple times since I installed it but so far it's an improvement in the stability of the air bubble behind the screen. It's a pain to install but so far it's worth it. Shiny Side Up👊✊👌
Thanks for posting! I'm doing my 2017 now and it's a pain! I installed my tabs first like you...I also spent 20 min but didn't try your trick to install the main windscreen screws first, then go and carefully bend the fairing to get the tabs engaged on the top. I'll try that tonight, thanks!! Do you have any gaps on the front? Like a couple inches down from where you removed the last small sticker...any gaps there for you?
Well I tried engaging the top tabs last after installing the main windscreen screws and broke one of the tabs. Doesn't yet seem to affect fitment. But I am still getting some pretty big gaps (a couple inches down from where you removed the last small sticker). Oh well, gonna run with it.
Would an extra wash on the closest screw help to close the gap? Or is there something else going on behind the scenes that is opening the gap up? Just a thought. I have a 19 and would love to install that windscreen. Love the channel/build.
I'm starting to think the brotha is Snake bit or he knocks around the bushes looking to get bit. I've only got 2500+ miles on my ATF but (knock on wood) I've had zero issues. I was thinking of shooting a response vid. What ya think? Should I?
Nelly The Elephant his latest said it was loose battery connections and something else stupid. Under $100 and he's just waiting for Aprilia to approve the warranty. I hope he hasn't lost faith in the bike and bails on it before he experiences the joy of the Tuono.
I also have a 2017 factory and have just fitted the same Puig screen. Not impressed with the overall fit, mine has the same gap at the top. Have been using Puig for years on a wide variety of sport bikes but for whatever reason this particular one isnt as good a fit as the others.
I'm glad I'm not the only one but disappointed at the same time. I was hoping maybe mine had a defect and I could swap it. It does install securely and I don't notice the gaps anymore.
I love the new headlights but i hated the Puig offers .they are ugly!! that keeps me stuck to old tuono headlights with touring windshield from MRA. the correct way to pronounce Puig is - POOGE.
Wassup guys, I hope this is the last video starting with snow on the ground.
Don't forget to watch to the end and cast your vote.

Just took my screen off your video was a great help it saved me getting stressed out thanks 🙏
A massive thank you! Just fitted the Puig racing screen to my 2019 Tuono. I'm sure your video saved me hours of frustration.
Great camera work! VERY helpful. Love your work, appreciate your effort and assistance. :)

Haha, that's actually where I started and then I found another video showing this trick. Hopefully it'll help on your RSV4.

MtnMoto sweet, it looks good, and sounds like it works great too. That and the gel seat, two must haves on my Tuono wish list.
The seat is a must have to be sure. I hope I captured how difficult this install was for me and others will have an easier time because of it

Mine hasn't yet and it does provide a welcome extension to the bubble of stable air you can tuck into

I'll have to remember that when she gets a CF noise replacement🤑
Uggg, she already got the CF noise replacement I meant nose replacement 😂

I don't notice it anymore, I think the "arms" on the screen are a bit too thick and cause the spacing.
Congrats on the 19
Definitely big Red
Hi, just wondering what you make of cyclecruza’s experience of his tuono that he just bought?
I'm starting to think the brotha is Snake bit or he knocks around the bushes looking to get bit.
I've only got 2500+ miles on my ATF but (knock on wood) I've had zero issues.
I was thinking of shooting a response vid. What ya think? Should I?
Maybe. I’ve done similar mileage on mine with no issues so hope it’s something simple for him to get it fixed?
Nelly The Elephant his latest said it was loose battery connections and something else stupid. Under $100 and he's just waiting for Aprilia to approve the warranty. I hope he hasn't lost faith in the bike and bails on it before he experiences the joy of the Tuono.
I'm glad to see the dealer got him sorted and now he's singing the praises of the Tuono for all the world to hear. 😂
MtnMoto just watched cyclecruza’s latest post and he seems pretty happy with it now!!! He can’t stop screaming.😂😂😂
Glad Aprillia made it so easy to remove ! Lol.....
Looks much better..red sticker
Thanks brotha. Red is out to the early lead

Who came here looking for the correct pronunciation of puig? 🤣
Red
Gotta vote in the poll bruh 😂
Thanks, I think they'll both look great
I love the new headlights but i hated the Puig offers .they are ugly!! that keeps me stuck to old tuono headlights with touring windshield from MRA. the correct way to pronounce Puig is - POOGE.
Do not attempt this method. Many broken windscreen tabs will brake off at the corners. Do it the correct way and remove the light housing
What’s the typical gas mileage when your giving her the beans ?
