First if all, I love this fly. I think it will work well on the rivers too, perhaps a couple sizes smaller. A trick I learned to keep the hackle pliers from slipping is to add a little bit of wax to the jaws.

Hi Ken, I've tyed many colour combination of this fly, I put a photo in the community page here on youtube of other colour combinations you may like to try...I've tyed them down to a size 16 in the same hook I used in the video though it was the bronze version as they don't do the black nickel down to that size...If I do get the chance to tye some streamers I'll certainly look at filming it...I'm glad you like it...
