The process in 2024 is Assessment & Authorization (A&A). NIST SP 800-53, Rev. 5, is the Security Controls Standard. Most Systems are only at “Moderate/Moderate/Low” rather than High. Banking, Medical, FAA, and certain Military systems are examples of High Availability systems. This example would really be Low Availability as the rigor and cost to maintain a “High Availability” is truly significant for both Providers (MSPs) and Customers.
