    I tried this to get water out of my truggy tires. They were wobbling so badly I was afraid for my chassis. It was very violent.
    Well turns out the water was expelled very efficiently. I had to clean my apartment ceiling. And walls. And curtains. And couch. No more wobble though.

    Using a Diamond Point bit such as a Dremel 7144 works significantly better than ANY drill bit can!
    Much quicker, cleaner cuts, and without any smoke. The 7144 bit also results in the perfect size hole, ~2.5mm.

    This is awesome and so simple. Vented all my tires from all cars, even without removing them.
    Also, I used to hold a car whilst venting (as you can imagine - it's a mess) ... How did I not think that I can simply put the car upside-down and give it a full throttle run for a few seconds...
    Great tips, thank you so much! ❤

    It definitely works... but the foam will deteriorate more quickly when it becomes wet.also mold.
    Best to get a belted tire or custom build a set with a duct-tape wrap on the inside of tire,assemble and no Ballon.
    Always need holes.lol.no on speed run or dry cars.i cover vent holes in water and high dirt areas.

    If dirt gets in from a vented rim, isn't the dirt under the foam? How will that dirt get through the foam to get out of a vented tire? Should a vented rim be sealed once the tire is vented to prevent dirt from getting in on the underside of the foam? Not many people have high speed dremels, I just use a soldering iron and it works great, seals so no tearing, probably is a stronger hole than cutting with a drill.

    It is NOT the air inside that make the tire go balooni. ... it is the centrifugal force... 😁

    • @MrSmith223
      @MrSmith223 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would think for a crawler you wouldn’t want to vent since you’re not going fast enough to balloon the tires, but I’m a noob so I dunno. Maybe if you’re doing some serious elevation change maybe? Beats me.

    I would hesitate strongly to puncture the tires on my Jlb cheetah. The rims already have vent holes, and can be easily sealed off with duct tape. I take mine when we go ice fishing, so it is in contact with snow, water, etc. Better not to get the foreign materials in, than having to clean them out later, I figure.

    • @Coyote.five.0
      @Coyote.five.0 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yes but how does dirt and water get out even if you put tape thats not 100% waterproof he explains it very well why there should be holes on the outside its a physics thing he says but I've been doing the venting on the seem of the tire for 5 years and its a well known trick to balance tires and self clean them.
      my traxxas has vent holes on the rim but before i did the trick of putting actually on the tire and on the outside the tire felt very unbalanced and squirting water 💦 out of the tini tiny hole on the rim.

    I have a doubt, if you play in fine sand doesn't that kill the tires faster?In which terrain do you recommend doing this or it doesn't affect tire life and performance? Great tips by the way.

    • @VinnesRC
      @VinnesRC 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the rim is vented, you will have a problem, but if the tire is vented, it should perform better. Also, if your rims are already vented, you NEED to vent the tires, or else you are going to get water, dust and sand stuck in the tires.

  • @FarmerFpv
    @FarmerFpv ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Don't do this to really high-speed tires like a 6s truggy. It will rip at the hole. Especially don't do it to your belted tires.

  • @thefunstuff6121
    @thefunstuff6121 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I agree that venting on the tread will help to keep a high speed tyre cleaner internally, venting the side wall of crawler tyres is a much better option. Venting has nothing to do with ballooning though. It is centrifical force on the foam that causes ballooning. If you have tyres that aren't glued yet, put tyre foam bands on the foam then assemble and the ballooning will decrease by about 70%

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      disagree. vented and unvented tires behave completely different at high speed, everything else being equal.
      Unvented tires look like a knife edge at speed.

    • @thefunstuff6121
      @thefunstuff6121 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RCReviewChannel I'm not saying don't vent. Even at the start of your vid the vented tyre was ballooning bad. I'm saying that the foam is what causes the bulk of the ballooning. Look at the rc npdr seen. th-cam.com/video/j_Sh6v4EZ8c/w-d-xo.html not the most professional way of doing it but you will see what I mean

    yes good idea but just to let some viewers know that i did this method to my trax rustler brand new and the foam rapped up around the drill bit and destroyed the tyres unhappy if pre glued hot wire or no glue drill holes with tyres off rims and your nice foams out another problem that this method can cause is it tears the foam in half and feels great to u put them back on car an first run the foam balls up in one 1/8 of the tyre and now its like running with rock in your shoes again very unhappy makes me think this bloke sells tyres for a living so be careful or could be wasting cash
