    Great new orchids, hope they recover well! Keep us updated on their progress! I noticed ordering in spring is better than summer for me too. The phrase gigi has wonderful top growth and I'm sure will grow good roots for you. Thanks for sharing and good luck 👍

    Hi Orchideya! You have some healthy looking new plants. The top growth looks good! I hope they produce some new healthy roots for you soon. I am sure the tank will help with that. The spot on the leaf looks like it may have been a sunburn so hopefully it will not progress in any way. I look forward to seeing how they progress for you! Have a great weekend! My Star Mind is in bud, has yours bloomed for you this year! Take care and have a great weekend!

      Thank you Beverly! I am so happy that your Star Mind is still alive and even spiking. I lost mine long time ago, glad that plant continues to live at your place :) Have a nice weekend!

    I do like your new orchids Orchideya, and just had to Google phrag Gigi, such a stunner. I'm sure with your growing terrarium new roots will soon be abundant on all three purchases. Thank you for sharing 😊

      Thank you so much Margaret! I think I am getting better with my phrags, kept them alive through the winter and they are even growing. That encouraged me to get more. Hopefully these new ones will adjust too.

      Thank you! I hope the roots appear soon and I can remove them from tank. Tank helps with roots but phrags can start rotting there very easily...

    Ecuagenera tends to be pretty hit or miss with the root health of their plants, but they're pretty good about responding to concerns. In any case, it looks like that phrag itself is pretty healthy and it has a new growth so hopefully it can push out roots for you. Yes tigrina is huge lol.

      Thank you Gabrielle! How is your stanhopea doing? I remember you had a spike on it at one point, did it ever bloom?

    • @gcarson

      @@Orchideya It had a flower a while back but it dried up before it was able to open. It's doing ok, but I really need to change the moss.

      @Orchideya  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gcarson Sorry the bloom dried. Do you think it is due to too low humidity? Do you still grow it in one of those plastic octagon baskets with moss? If yes, where do you buy them in Canada? I can only see them on Amazon, which comes quite expensive with shipping.

    They have such cool orchids but sometimes the roots are not so great. I just received a Phrag with a poor root system too. Fingers crossed we get roots on our Phragmipediums!......Those Stanhopea tigrinas are large and very prolific. Mine grows like a weed! Can't wait to see your updates in the future. 😊

    • @Orchideya
      @Orchideya  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Which Phrag did you get? Hope both our Phrags pull through, I am getting better with keeping them alive, but for some reason the cross of any caudatum type with kovachi species seem to be more fussy for me. Great news about stanhopea tigrina. i managed to rot my jenischiana, have to be careful now, so have it in smallest possible pot, lol.

      @@Orchideya I got a Phrag Eumelia Arias. I don't have much experience with Phrags. We'll see how it goes! 🤞🤞. Best of luck with the Phrags and the tigrina! 😊

    Awesome plants! It's really hard to say no to such a limitless supply of plants on Ecuagenera's price list. Very little rot on all of them. Good thing you emailed Ecuagenera to tell them of the rootless phrag. That was my mistake not doing that last year.
    It's amazing how gigantic these plants are! I would expect the Gigi to be taller due to the lineage. Yelva Myhre appears smaller but it would get somewhat taller but I don't think as tall as Gigi. The leaves might be wider though due to kovachii.
    Do you have any dragon's blood? That would work nicely as a patch on the brown leaf spot. Maybe a bit of peroxide to keep it clean.
    I don't know how you managed a mean game of tetris to fit the tigrina in the tank. Those net pots I got at hydroponic shops and at the orchid society sales. But yes, Amazon is not a good place to shop for pots,of any kind.
    Fingers crossed that they get a good growing spurt in your tank. Hopefully my shipment will look as yours in 6 weeks time.

    • @Orchideya
      @Orchideya  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Good idea about dragon's blood, I still have it, will go put some on now, just in case. Tank keeps surprising me with its ability to fit so many orchids, Stanhopea connata is in there too, but on the other side, haha. Thank you for the advice on pots, I never thought to check hydroponic stores, not sure if we have any around here to walk in, but there are probably some online stores in Canada, I will check them out. Fingers crossed you get Yelvas with awesome roots too!

    Nice haul, hopefully that phrag will put out some new roots for you. It's been many years since i last ordered from them, I think it can be tough for the plants to switch over to northern hemisphere. I've also got a phrag on the way, just a little seedling I think

    • @Orchideya
      @Orchideya  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Justin, you are right, they are changing hemisphere which means they are getting into wrong season here. Which phrag are you getting?

    • @justinsdutchtropics
      @justinsdutchtropics 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Orchideya It is Phragmipedium Living Fire ( besseae x Sorcerer`s Apprentice ). But I think it is just a little seedling, I never tried to grow a phrag from seedling before so that should be interesting.

    Hello! Your new plants have such great leaves… how can they have bad roots is puzzling to me? Fortunately they would send a replacement if it fails to produce an adequate root system. This brings me to my question… when you order from Ecuagenera from Canada, do you have to fill out special forms or do they do all that work? Thanks for sharing !

    • @Orchideya
      @Orchideya  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, I hope Gigi will sprout new roots in the tank :)
      Ecuagenera takes care of all documentation and importing. They charge $2 on the top of each plant's price to cover handling fee, that's all. They usually ship plants to a few cities in Canada (Toronto, Montreal etc.) . You can pick the plants from representative in person, or they can ship plants from Toronto to your house, then you need to pay for that shipping.
