  • This video demonstrates how to conduct an ANOVA with a Games-Howell post hoc test in SPSS. The Games-Howell test is often used with unequal sample sizes and unequal variances.

Excellent, I used to watch your videos when I was in an abusive relationship. 4 years later - I'm watching your videos becoming a psychological scientist. Thanks Dr. Grande. You're an inspiration.

@@artofreusing10 Thank you kind stranger. I'm writing my thesis on trauma and cognition in students currently. ^.^ Yesterday was actually really hard, so this message means a lot.
      Much love and peace.

Your videos are terrific, so thank you. Unless I didn't interpret this correctly, the only concern I have is that you tested normality across all of your levels of you factor. Versus, testing for normality either within each level . If the factor is highly significant then we would expect 2-3 different populations are mixed, hence a rejection of a normality would be expected which isn't a show-stopper in itself. Thank you again for putting these videos up to the public and for educating others in stats.

good evening sir. why is the games-howell test unavailable when mutliple factors are used in the model?

Thank you very much for this detailed video Dr Todd but can you please tell me what it means for two different groups to have a statistically significant difference. I have unequal sample sizes and used Games-Howell test but now am stuck at the interpretation. I do have a couple of significant p values and i need to assemble them into a table but i have no idea of what to write or which form to give the table. Can you please give me some idea on how to interpret the data obtained from this test? thank you

Dr. Grande...thank you for posting this video. If I am understanding you correctly, the Games-Howell test would be appropriate in all these cases:
    (1) there are unequal sample sizes but equal variance
    (2) there are unequal sample sizes and unequal variance
    (3) there are equal sample sizes but unequal variance
I am most interested in what to do when you have unequal sample sizes but equal variance...as that is what I anticipate will be the case with my data. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Why sometimes the post hoc buttons are greyed?
