On May 6, Stray Kids made history as the first full K-Pop group invited to attend the MET Gala.
Despite mixed feelings about their styling, many praised the group’s handsome visuals and eagerly took in every detail of their appearance at the event.
Unfortunately, the attention to detail led to the discovery of some offensive comments made by paparazzi taking photos of attendees. Including calling them “unemotional” and “robots,” many believed some comments held a racist undertone.

I'm glad that there's there a chance that these photographers are going to get what they deserve and possibly loose their jobs, but leaking someone's home address? That's straight up harassment and no one deserves that, not even them. This is slowly going overboard and giving Skz negative attention. Please stay, don't take it too far, or else this might be the last time Skz gets an opportunity like this.
So true, I’m very much scared about what will happen after jype and skz get to know this.. ofc what these photographers said was very wrong but by doxxing them is going to make stays i.e stray kid’s fandom look very bad which indirectly leaves a negative impact on the group. Hacking the website was fine to some extent but finding the man’s address and private information isn’t going to help, it’s just too much. Also that somewhat sarcastic (or not) message chan sent on bubble was to tell us not to worry and do something crazy cause he knows his fandom.. but that didn’t really help as u can see. There’s a limit to everything and I think this time we have crossed the limit to be frank.

@@pou34dht09 well, we lost Chan's Room over IVE and he did send out a cloaked warning via bubble to reel it in. So a lot of us are also trying to do damage control. I've been monitoring the English language side of things and reporting posts that have personal information or inflammatory language. But if you Google Stray Kids Met Gala just about all media outlets have made mention of a need for better education in the entertainment industry. I think, on the whole, that is good. I would like a formal apology from Sean Zinna, but whatcha going to do?
He has nothing to do with this issue, he has not spoken out, since this is about ppl who complain about racist adults in worldwide popular event on camara, and before this happened the K media and others broke the news of this, so no longer has to do with being 'Stay', and everyone have to inform themselves about everything before mixing issues and exaggerating about the fandom having as proof that 1 random person didn't want to forgive certain journalist, and choosing hurtful comments from random people on Internet, exaggerating and ussing it to guitl trip the fandom like some ppl are doing here.
This became world news and those adults did this to themselves, like I don't understand how ppl who come to this channel always pretend that when something serious happens there won't be even 1 person in a corner of the internet taking any action, and then take them to scold everyone and naming Chan...Then is doxxing a crime? yes, and *i don't support doing that* , but morally what they did was just as bad, and bc of what those people did it was inevitable that something like that would happen, and Chan is not our father to be ready to scold us. I sincerely believe that such an illegal response from fans is unacceptable. STAY are still people and we are also show the influence of SKZ. It is important to stay within the law and ethics and not stoop to the level of the abusers.

It is a shame that fans have to go this far and by that I mean there should have been an official statement issued by the event organisers about what happened and how they will remedy it and an apology... Fans shouldn't be put in a situation where they feel they have to exact justice.
Yes, the way the photographers are handling the situation is so immature almost as if they want to make a fool out of us. They are so unprofessional.

I like that the community has said this behaviour is wrong and I know from what's being reported that we are being heard but we likewise needs to make sure we aren't treating others like our boys were treated.
I agree nothing illegal should be going on. I think the Met Gala should come out and assure people that the photographers involved will not be allowed back to the event. As Stay it's time to focus on the boys next comeback.

Please respect the stance SKZ have taken on this issue. I'm sure everyone was disgusted and disappointed by these remarks, as I was too, but as fans, it is not our place to demand an apology on their behalf, especially with the maturity and grace they've shown when dealing with this event. It's not worth it to force an apology out of the people who've chosen to behave in this reprehensible manner, and matching their behaviour with threats and hacking from our side is only lowering ourselves and tarnishing Stray Kids' reputation. Instead of expressing anger in this extreme manner, I recommend that you show your love for Stray Kids by supporting them and showering them with love through the upcoming comeback.
Everyone please remember though: Everything Stay does, will reflect back onto Straykids!

I'm as pissed off as anyone else about it, but that's not "holding someone accountable", that's straight up harassment.
Doxxing someone's home address is going _way_ overboard, and isn't going to convince the photographers (or anyone else) that they did anything wrong - it's just going to make them feel victimised, which will only reinforce their dislike of Asian celebrities.
If you actually want to create systematic change, you have to make particular behaviour unacceptable _within that system_ . That means that the consequences for that behaviour have to come from within the system, too.
We want the photographers to face repercussions from their employers and their colleagues, because _that's_ what will actually make them change their behaviour. If they face osteacisation from colleagues or lose out on job opportunities, it's going to have far more of an impact on them than a bunch of KPop fans running amok.
So we need to work within the system. We should be putting pressure on the organisers of the Met Gala, and the photographers' employers (who I believe is Getty).
The Met Gala and their employers are the ones with the power to actually hold them accountable, and force them to face genuine consequences.
Be better, guys. When Stay do shit like this it reflects badly on SKZ themselves. That's not going to help them, and could easily harm them if public opinion turns against them or if JYP decides to punish them for fans' actions.

Yeah! Bang Chan himself has asked fans not to take matters into their own hands like this on multiple occasions - true fans would respect their idols' wishes, and stay within the limits. True fans would want to make them feel supported in the ways that they _want_ to be supported!
If you genuinely care about your idols, don't do things which will stress them out, make them feel uncomfortable, or put them in a bad position.

The thing is the issue of doxxing will never stop bc in fact it's something that has been very common on social media for years among kpopers of every fandom and even fans of international artists that we all know. Bc these types of 'doxxing' usually pretend to scare problematic ppl who usually attack and cross the line in some way, and there's no other chance of stopping them.
Then those adults with their actions created a global scandal, which is what surely made SKZ find out about all this, not that someone random in a corner of the internet couldn't stand that these types of photographers always get their way and doxxing one of them. And they were never going to apologize or stop behaving like that, and downplaying what they did as some have been doing in their comments in this video is in fact what causes these people to go so far as to make racist comments so freely on camera, in an event that has worldwide attention...
I would never do something like that, and *it's not something I would advise others to do* , and I actually agree that doing those things causes them to speak out to divert attention from what they did and victimize themselves. But on the other hand I do think they will think twice next time before being racist in their work. And besides, this is not about 'Stays' , 'crazy fandom making SKZ uncomfortable and feel bad', and adding Chan on every issue with missinformation about something he supoused said in the past and wherever biased interpretations. So he has no need to speak for this. And it was impossible to control the repercussions on this issue, the type of things they said (racism)was what started a huge global fuss where the media broke the news and even Asian ppl who are not Stay spoke out on social media and were really angry. This isn't just about SKZ and being a kpop fandom when what those people said went beyond simple mockery of a boyband. So it was inevitable that due to the problematic nature of the matter, at least 1 person decide to do something like that.

I'm a STAY and I'm also very furious with these photographers who mistreated the boys! I haven’t seen it since that night to the point where my own health is failing me... STRAY KIDS didn't deserve this, it should have been a memorable evening for them! In the world, there will always be good people like bad..., and there’s nothing you can do about it, it’s like that...
But, please, and here I appeal to the STAY of the whole world and in particular to those who react violently, I understand your anger because I share it and it's legitimate... But this story has already gone too far... Remember Chan’s reaction at that party because it was the best decision to make... Get together and leave without saying anything... Follow the example of our Best Leader... Hacking anyone ‘s accounts in the US is a Federal Crime and if the photographer wants too, he can press charges and the FBI will investigate and find out who did it and They will have to go to court ,if they are found guilty, if is a $100’000 fine and up to 20 years in a Federal Prison.

This whole situation got way out of hand. Hating on someone on social medias is bad enough and could be considered cyber bullying, especially because it hit the wrong person first. But this is a new low. We are in no position to demand an apology since we were not the ones harmed, only skz themselves can ask for one if they want to. And terrorising and harrassing that person is not only moraly completely wrong but also illegal. This person is in serious danger because some toxic, crazy "stays" can't keep it together. Even worse is that this will all put skz in a very bad light and who knows, they probably won't get invited to such events anymore if this is the outcome. I hope the "stays" that did this are ashamed about it and will learn their lesson.

Putting out anyone's personal information is going TO FAR and is NOT COOL time to move on from this it was unfortunate but not a big deal to Stray Kids as they deal with ignorant paparazzi all the time. This is something that was actually expected bc they were adults being extremely racist on camera. And ppl here always make whole essays downplaying the direct harassment that they suffer in their membership and official fan events, but a random person did the typical thing that every fandom have been doing for years on Internet with ppl dgaf about it, but now everyone start putting SKZ or chan name on this and in every issue, and ' kpop crazy fans' and all that...like I don't support doxxing, but adults were on camera at a globally important event being deliberately racist, they provoqued this themselves. Guys this is only further embarrassing Stray Kids. This is not something to be proud of. The photographers words and behavior were wrong and very disappointing but it is only sensible to make complaints directly to their employers for the Met Gala and other media outlets. Guys that's messed up. Seriously did the fans who hacked the photographer's account think that Stray Kids would be happy with that kind of "defending" them or that even if they pulled an apology from the photographer that it would be sincere?
Tbh I'm not even 100% sure that skz could hear individual voices shouting during that clip that went viral because I also saw another clip (taken more from the right side of the crowd) and you mostly can't hear the very rude comments, aside from "Everybody jump!". Skz are standing quite far away and listening more to each other and probably the lady who was helping direct them and the whole environment with photographers is generally chaotic since they're all trying to get their money shots and ALL shouting, mostly "Over here! Over here!". Even if they could hear, it was probably only Felix or Chan that could pick out the English words getting swallowed up in all the noise (Seungmin is good at English, but he's admitted that native speakers can be hard to talk to and the noisy environment probably didn't help). Like paparazzi aren't known for a good reputation, why are we acting surprised
Even one thing is like, the situation is not entirely racist (that would be if the photographers showed a hatred of Asians or a preference of one race of celebrity through even other artists too Ii think), but it is incredibly rude and generally disrespectful because the photographers probably don't respect them as much as Western celebrities since they don't care as much (not appearing in our media outlets as much as other celebrities do) and also didn't know that some of the members could speak English (hence why they felt more frustrated and shouting nonsense at them).
But overall, I wish Stay could have focused more on the positives too and not let the photographers steal the show of how cool our guys look.

See, now you cannot tell people not to take this too far because those who disrespected SKZ went too far from the start. They started it, now reap what they sow. There must be consequences for careless actions, and it is.
I am not a stay but I respect and like stray kids. Dear stays even though our idols were treated badly but you can't hack someone's account and leak their private information. We all represent our idols, let's just end this matter here.
The STAYs who harassed any of the journalists, participated in doxing or applauded the doxing of the journalists, all owe apologies to those journalists and Stray Kids, just as much as Stray Kids are owed apologies from the journalists.
Because the journalists being rude to SKZ was wrong, but way less awful than doxing people. STAY answered bad behavior with even worse behavior. SKZ would be ashamed of any STAY doing this, or endorsing it.
I'm STAY and right now I'm embarrassed and appalled by some of my fellow SKZ fans. That shit is unacceptable.

Could you please censor the address in this video? Yes they were being mean and their names and socials being out kinda serves them right. But they don't deserve to have their home addresses to be public. Because that can get very dangerous very fast. Plus people can use that to harm Stays image if they take advantage of it and then claiming to be Stays.

Leaking someone's address is not acceptable. Doing all this will negatively affect stray kids...i understand he must apologise but this is not okay! You guys are not any better than that photographer if you're out there finding his address and leaking it. I really hope stay can come back to their senses and stop all of this.

Leaking someone's home address just because they disrespected your favs is too much. It puts the photographers and their family in danger. Doxxing someone is literally a crime. This is NOT something to be proud of, you should be ashamed of it instead. This ain't a "SLAYYYY" or "STRAYKIDS FOREVER" or some "Protect StrayKids" thing, this is a crime. While I love skz and feel sorry they received such treatment, leaking someone's home address is not right. I guess there are other ways like complaining to the employer. What I also find surprising is that some commenters are actually defending the photographers and their behavior. Either they haven't seen/heard the videos properly or it is "normal behavior" for them. Well I hope karma bites the people responsible for mistreatment and their defenders really bad.
It was the greatest lack of respect for artists I've seen, racism with Stray Kids, cruel and unprecedented, seeing the trampled boys without doing anything, and listening to the photographers' imbeciles sending them and laughing, and offending, as if if They were clowns in a circus, it was shameful, a lot of humiliation in front of thousands of other artists, these photographers have to be punished for such a lack of professionalism and racist disrespect in the middle of 2024. I cried with the pitiful scene, thankfully the leaders They soon took from that place, because I could see in the boys' faces, the discomfort. What a descendation met gala.
