  • This game requires a dump of the ROM cartridge included with the game, and it should be named kof95.bin and placed inside the ISO folder. Works flawlessly as far as I could tell, I couldn't beat Rugal simply due to bad RNG. :D The hacked version by YZB, that doesn't require ROM cartridge, does not work.

How did you manage to get it to work? I am struggling to get Ultrman and kof95 to boot? It just freezes the Saroo. Im on v.0.6

You need to dump or acquire the ROM cartridge files, and place them in the regular “SAROO/ISO “ folder. The files are named:
      kof95.bin
      ULTRAMAN.BIN

Do they need to be in their own folder, inside the ISO folder? Or inside the kof95 and ultraman folders respectively ? Or do they just get pasted into the ISO folder as loose files ?
Edit : sorry for asking, but I have been trying to make them work for days now. Even tried the rom hack versions, but I'm starting to think, it's because i try and run japanese games on my PAL system model 2. Maybe the Saroo can't run as both a ROM cart, and action replay ? Maybe i should try my japanese model 2 system instead?

@@dacii539, just put the files loose directly in the ISO folder.
I am not sure about the region problem, but the SAROO is supposed to bypass this kind of issue. Just guessing here, because I don’t have a PAL system to try… Perhaps you get the game running slower in the PAL system because of 50hz in general? Just for perspective, if I try to run the PAL version of Keyo Flying Squadron 2 on my NTSC Saturn it actually runs at 60hz, despite it should run at 50hz.

@@ROBSILVERGUN Thanks for the reply !
I don't think the problem is the 50/60hz thing. I own multiple copies of ntsc & ntsc-j games, that i run on my PAL model. But I was thinking that, the saroo might not work as both a ROM cart, and a region bypass at the same time? But I will try and place the ROM files in the ISO folder and hope for the best, my other option, is to setup up my ntsc-j system, and try through there. Thanks for all your help ! Its much appreciated

@@dacii539, from what I understood using the cartridge “region bypass” doesn’t count as an expansion cartridge, like a normal Action Replay would do. This feature is free of assignment. For example, if I run X-Men Vs Street Fighter (JAP) into my NTSC-U system it will run normally despite requiring 4MB cart, the only caveat is that if you leave the game with Soft Reset (ABC+Start), the fake 4MB cart is still “engaged”, and you can’t access the SAROO menu without restarting or turning off the system. The same with these 2 games that require the ROM cartridge.
And you are always welcome, my SAROO videos have the intention to help the Saturn community to get access to more games! Always glad to help!
