    The Presidents Cup returns to Canada and The Royal Montreal Golf Club this week as the U.S Team faces off against the International Team in the 15th edition of the event. Each team consists of 12 golfers and the competition will take place over four days - Four-Ball matches on Thursday, Foursomes on Friday, both styles will be played on Saturday (morning and afternoon) and 12 singles matches on Sunday. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns to action after capturing the TOUR Championship and winning the FedExCup for the first time. He’s still looking for his first Presidents Cup victory after going 0-3-1 in 2022. World No. 2 Xander Schauffele will also be teeing it up for the U.S Team. He claimed three points from five matches two years ago, including the tournament clinching point for the U.S Team. Schauffele may be teaming up with good friend and Zurich Classic of New Orleans playing partner, Patrick Cantlay, for several matches this week. The International Teams’ top-ranked player, Hideki Matsuyama, will hope to lead the line in Canada. The Japan native won twice on TOUR this season running away from the field at both The Genesis Invitational and the FedEx St. Jude Championship, but has been inconsistent in past Presidents Cups, with a 7-10-5 overall record. Others to look out for are Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Tom Kim and Min Woo Lee.

    Can you please include some slow-motion shots?? Your cameras are anyway recording at a much higher framerate than youtube can show...

    • @mikesolinas6893
      @mikesolinas6893 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Broadcast cameras don't record at any higher frame rate than the broadcast itself. Broadcast in NA is 29.97 or 30 frames per second so that's what they're shooting at. The shutter angle is higher probably at 1/60 but that's just to avoid some weird and more complex picture issues than I'd like to explain here.
      If the cameras were recording at 120fps for instance and they were shown at 30fps for playback they'd all look like they were in slomo. 4x as slow because you're recording 4x more frames in the same amount of time. For example a 5 second clip recorded at 30fps is going to have 150 still image frames in it. But the same clip at 120fps is going to have 700 still image frames.
      Now the question could be, "why don't they record at the higher frame rate and then make a 30fps signal by only getting 1/4 of the frames and using that?" The answer is twofold, One) the processing power that it would take to be able to do that and have it look good isn't cost efficient nor is it worthwhile. (Remember, cameras, and most pieces of digital technology are basically just computers) And two) most of these broadcasts will have a camera set up specifically for shooting high frame rate for broadcast for replay purposes.
      I don't disagree that it could be nice to see those integrated, but the primary broadcast cameras they're using aren't doing what you say that they're doing. However, they definitely have cameras that are shooting, recording, and sending to the signal truck the higher frame rate video for replay use, possibly highlights, and archival use possibly. I hope that this helped explain a bit about broadcasting and how signal flows work!

      While Canada has made great strides in professional golf, I’m not convinced that three Canadians deserved to be on the international team. I think the fans, including the Canadians, want to see the top international players play. It’s not a good look for Mike Weir to play favoritism by selecting more Canadian golfers with his captain’s picks.
