Matt, I'm 43 years old. I began riding and bought my first Harley at the age of 41. You taught me how to ride when I purchased some video tutorial you did on a 78 sportster. Then I found shadetree not long after that. Being from Chicago, you taught me how to ride safely and conservatively, but shadetree taught me that letting loose and being your own is the best freedom you can ever obtain riding on two wheels. I see how you two are from two different worlds, but sitting down and discussing traditions and the very being that has us all here is monumental to me. Thank you ✌🏾
Awesome comment man. You learned to ride from my Udemy class! Wow I love it. Yes! You got the full gambit on how to ride if you got my instruction with Shadetrees attitude. Haha. Enjoy man. Thanks for the comment!
When I first started riding I would watch Josh and it helped me with my confidence . Watching him talk with his hands driven in any weather. The man is a beast. He will ride what ever bike no matter age or condition. Keep it up Josh love the content
I’m 50 got my msf at. 49 at the Harley School I’m new London Connecticut .your channel has been ultra inspiring. Shadetree is my brother from Another mother!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I think Josh has actually become my favorite youtuber. He's one of the rare ones that doesn't care to be cool or take himself too seriously. That's what makes him cool as hell. Nothing but love for ol' Shadetree Surgeon and the whole brap star crew.
@Matt Laidlaw hey Matt it looks like I just won a bike from you? Either that or your channels been hacked. This is the same reason I had no choice to cancel Million Dollar Bogans channel. It wasn't safe to view anymore. I'll wait for your response before I cancel. Thank you.
As a Tampa native, I love to see Shadetree interviewed and feeling the love nationwide. I love his over the top narration on his channel but to listen to him pontificate a little more seriously with you was so enjoyable. Also love when different channels that I can’t get enough of have crossover episodes! See all that love?
Nice to see Josh on the podcast. The Million Dollar Bogan story is finally starting to come together. Shadetree got Marine One from Miami then brought it to California to Laidlaw Harley. That makes sense. Not sure people have more fun planning a trip than taking a trip but I do think some people have a better time telling the story of the trip than they had on the actual trip.
Josh and all the brapp star team make some of my favourite videos. Josh's ability to embellish a story for entertainment is second to none. He is such a good speaker. As you said Matt. Josh will ride anything anywhere anytime, showing new riders you don't need to spend a second mortgage on a bike to get started having fun on two wheels. Also not to forget what he does for forgotten angels. Just a great all rounder. Thanks for a great interview. BTW. I also love your content too. Well done guys.
Hell yeah Shadetree surgeon! He’s a awesome guy love his channel! And love seeing other content creators getting together and tell their stories. And shade tree has very interesting stories n life. Awesome pod cast matt really digging it!

I’ve been watching both of your channels for quite awhile. This is the first time I wanted the podcast to go for another hour or more. It’s also the first time I’ve actually seen someone sit down long-form with Josh and it did not disappoint. Keep up the good work looking forward to the next one.
I have a new respect for Josh after listening/watching this video podcast. There is a lot more good inside him than he lets people see and his heart is 100% into whatever his current endeavour may be. His never back down, never give up attitude combined with his love for all things two wheeled and his story telling ability sure make him one interesting individual.
Shadetree Army here, I always tell Josh how much I love his videos cuz they always make me go ride, such a great dude. thank you all for the video, keep it weird!

I live here in Florida and have met Shade Tree a couple times. Of course he wouldn't know me if he tripped over me. It seems there is a lot more to him than anyone realizes. He has some brilliant insights into human nature. Danger and adversary are the keys to real growth and keeping the mind sharp. If we lived a more dangerous life would we need therapy? Great interviews Matt.
This was freaking awesome! I love Matts videos and Josh is basically my motorcycle icon. This was a great conversation to listen to. I'd listen to this is it was 10 times longer
Thank you Matt and Andrew for having STS on your podcast. I appreciated the opportunity to see a different side to ShadeTree than than we get in the shorter TH-cam episodes. There's much more to him than I imagined. He has a wealth of opinions and I respect he doesn't try to force them on you. And thank you Matt for having folks like M$B and STS and your skill at interviewing them.
Shadetree surgeon is the first TH-camr I subscribed to. I’ve meet him twice and he is genuinely a great and fun person to hang with. The whole motorcycle TH-cam community for the most part is awesome to watch blend together.
Snake Plisskin, Shadetree was first and Adam Sandoval was the second. The first Shadetree video that I saw, was him and The Waldecorn getting the FXR running in the back yard.
Yep, I read every comment on my channel too. I've had a few rants but I've never let one get to me. I think growing up in the inner city numbed me to angry & negative people. Going through life worried about what strangers think of you will only make you miserable. Never let someone suck the joy out of something that makes you happy.
Shadetree is a poet with a camera. I feel his pain about riding in cold weather. I took a 1k mile trip to FL. Coming back I ran into a snowstorm. I had to stop every 10 minutes due to the pain in hands. I finally found 1 pair of heated gloves and was able to ride an hour before stopping.
Love seeing two of my favorite channels hooking up. I love that Josh hasn't changed since he started. He does what he wants to do and just takes us along for the ride. I am not afraid to try doing something. Worst that can happen is I have to end up taking it to someone else.
It's funny what got me started following content was watching Long Way Round then from that I started some solo adventure riders. One night TH-cam suggested a video from John Maxwell and it's from him that I learned about Shadetree, Chelisi, Blockhead, Her Two Wheels and all of the others. In fact it was the new model introduction video that he posted that I first heard about Matt and I've been a fan ever since. I'm happy that John is doing his thing with his shop but I sure do miss his content.
MAT AND SHADETREE I HOPE YOU GUYS SEE THIS! So back in 2020 after I graduated college and I got a job. I told my self it was time for me to get a Harley as I had dreamed off since I was 5. I remember being raised in cali hearing about MCs and stuff and me saying I can’t wait till I can be in one. One day after I moved back home from college I was in my room depressed sad and bored that I had no one to go out with or the freedom to bring people over to my parents. So I started watching TH-cam videos. So I came across the video where shade tree was out with his dogs in the yard with all these dogs and several bikes in his garage and I was like wow this guy looks so humble and has so many bikes (me thinking all bikes are super expensive) and I said you know what it’s time to get a Harley. And at the time Josh had no Harley just the rocket and the chopper and I’m sure other bikes. But I then looked down at the recommended videos and I saw THE BIKE OF MY DREAMS WHAT COME TO MIND WHEN I THINK HARLEY!!!! THE DELUXE!!! And guess who’s video it was. MAT LAIDLAWS REVIEW ON THE 2020 FLDE!!!!! AND I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. A week later I left Mancuso cross roads here in Houston with my very own FLDE in the red and black color. I HAD NEVER RODE A MOTORCYCLE BEFORE SO I LEARNED BY WATCHING BLOCK HEAD ON HIS MATTE BLACK SPORTSTER LOL so yea that’s how I learned to ride lol now I have the FLDE 2020 I have a 2021 sportster which was my second bike (I did things backwards lol ) and recently got a 2007 fatboy ! To wrap things up this video / podcast has the most influential TH-camrs to me ever. You guys opened a new chapter to me where riding a motorcycle is my therapy and what keeps me happy. This podcast has made my day and if it wasn’t for your videos I would have never taken the leap of getting a motorcycle and let me tell you it’s the best decision I have ever made ! Matt, love your video documentary films and don't change them. But shadetree is like the dad who comes around once a month to take you camping. He will let you take a sip of his beer and shoot his gun. You are the dad who plans an awesome trip that has an itinerary. Love both channels. Josh is easy to watch, you make well edited films. Don't change your film style.
Two of my Favorite TH-camrs collab! Love to see two different (e.g. genuinely classic West Coast & uniquely central Florida) vibes, come together for a kick-a$$ podcast. Well, done guys!
Gotta love Josh man... He actually pushed me into finally getting my ass up and getting my motorcycle some years ago. His attitude, his vibe... he is down to earth and the does kinda shit we go through or think of but don't do. I find him inspiring and love his "get up and go" freedom attitude. One of my favorite yourtuber's!
I`ve ridden many bikes since the 70s but the Harley is the bike that I remember best, every detail every sound every feeling, it embeded itself into my very soul.
Guys, bravo! My favorite channels blending together, whether it's M$B or Josh or Matt, I really can't get enough of the story lines. Josh, you have a gift of gab, and it's awesome to hear your philosophies. Good job, Matt and keep up the good work!!!
That's WY I love you both because u are honest and have no fear to say what you feel. I trust both what you say!! Seeing you talk together is so awesome
That starting comment got me because that's one of my favorite things is starting my Harley. It's such a cool sound and feeling, puts a smile on my face and I'm not even riding it.
Great job by both Parties, Now living in the Wang I feel I can call myself a Floridian , And hopefully I can make it to the Forgotten Angle's campout one of these times.Matt I really enjoy your vlogs of the trips you and your staff take also..
Great video 👍. One of the best sit down conversation videos Matt. Shadetree sitting drinking a beer wrapped in a paper bag telling stories was great. He reminds me of a best friend I grew up with in Eastern Tennessee. Hearing old bike stories was awesome. He could be from Tennessee 😂. Thank you I very enjoyed this one.
I am beside myself, thirty-four, (34), minutes into this video listening to a dialouge between the three of uyou. I listened and watched intently as The ShadeTree Surgeon was referencing encylopeidic knowledge of events and facts. The banter was also great. Thanks to each of your for bringing this content to TH-cam.
I always wondered how this interview would go. It's really really good. Matt, you make great content. Whether going on a trip or sitting in an office, I know I'm going to enjoy the video and learn something.
WELL DONE MATT, YOU GOT THE BEST OUT OF SHADETREE IN THIS INTERVIEW ! The tongue split story !! Didn't know the story n I've been watching him for 3yrs 🤘
Very cool!! I have subscribed to his channel for a couple years I met him and Chey in Costa Mesa at the bike show there. You guys are right about traveling in weather, its the rough times on the road that really stick with you.
The Surgeon is actually a brilliant man!!! I could listen to him explain his philosophy(s) all day. I loved this interview, and always enjoy Matt's channel!!!! Ride safe
Matt I want to thank you for introducing The Shadetree Surgeon as I have not known about him until seeing this podcast. Great conversation. The ideas that were presented were interesting and informative. I respect real people, especially those who share our passion for motorcycling.
I actually believe Josh is more intelligent than even he knows, also I must say if I had to trust someone to ride my motorcycle across the country, it would be someone in this room. Matt is so right, you tube motorcycle community is a sort of family. I love Andrew's face when Shadetree was talking about splitting his 👅 tongue. Always great content guys.🤙 Also I hear people talk about Harley being unreliable, and leaking oil, and maybe they leaked oil when they ran the self oiling chain, or unreliable when AMF owned and operated Harley, but the people talking that crap haven't even seen a HD up close in 30 years.
I feel you brother. I live in Cleveland and it’s miserable weather here. Cold, rain, snow, wind. Riding in bad weather is part of this great adventure! Great video!
This was just awesome, from the beer spill on the rug, being informative & Shade’s description of Harley starters and beefy satisfying pressing of the switches. ❤
What an awesome conversation. Now, the tongue story was out there, but very interesting. Thank you for captioning ShadeTree's insightful quotes. Keep up the great work with these podcasts.
@OfficialMattLaidlaw is this a trick? i don't have telegram ,i only have youtube, and email. if i honestly won a bike , then post phone # to your dealership, who to ask for and i will call you by phone. i just dont want to be tricked by a bot,or made a joke of.
Thank you shadetree for the suggestion to look at Matt’s oldest videos. Mormon bachelorette was the gem I didn’t know I needed today. Matt, I’ve just realised your consistency isn’t just professionalism, your super authentically a good dude.
That was and absolutely amazing podcast/video probably one of my all time favorite you guys from Very different backgrounds agreeing on stuff and talking about Real life
This was so interesting to watch Josh allow himself to come out of character and expose his extraordinary intellect. His theatrics are hilarious but his greatest attributes are his genuine honesty, generosity and humility. His sense of humor and encyclopedia like level of knowledge are a rare and admirable combo. Matt Laidlaw is a great and very likeable ambassador for motorcycling but he and Josh are from different planets. How many of his guests hydrate on-air from a paper bag ? 😂
Thank you for this video Matt! I have been watching ShadeTree Surgeon for some time now, off and on. I can almost swear that I heard on his channel that his tongue was a birth defect, so I'm glad to hear the truth and to know him better. I am glad that in spite of his father not doing right by him, that he turned into a man doing good things for other "kids" in situations like he experienced. Kudos to him, and to your channel for spotlighting him. He really knows a lot about motorcycle history and I loved listening to this interview.
Man this interview cracked me up. I've followed Shadetree (and the whole Brapstar crew) for years, as well as your channel. Def times it looked like shadetree was freaking you all out a bit, I almost lost it when he spilled beer all over your carpet! haha! But honestly, great stuff.. really cool insight. I hope you can get down to Tampa for interview part 2.
Also want to say, one of the biggest draws to Shadetree and his channel are how accepting and open he is to all that want to ride. You dont see that in motorcycling enough. Usually you have to dress a certain way, follow a certain political ideology, or be a certain age/gender. He dont care.. it's the kind of attitude that gets more into motorcycles and grows this culture/industry.
Great podcast guys! Fun and entertaining. Hey now... I love my Rocker C! (mumbles something indiscernable about the Rocker being the precursor of the Breakout) LOL 😁
Matt, I really appreciate you being a Harley dealer but still being able to talk about other motorcycle brands in a positive way. I was disappointed, however, when you guys were talking about engineers but you never mentioned the greatest motorcycle engineer of all time -- your own William Sylvester Harley.
In a couple of ways, I'm a lot like Josh. I don't have a family, so I do things when I want and I tend to do things sort of spontaneously. I once rode to Memphis and back from Sanford, Maine on a bone-stock 2005 Heritage Softail Classic for 4th of July Weekend. Two days to get there, averaging 700 miles a day. Two days back. I was exhausted and deaf, but I had the time of my life. Try riding 5 notches in a single day through the White Mountains in NH and ME and tell me you're not exhausted. That was only about 350 miles, but it took 14 hours. And I had a 20-minute staredown with an 1,100 pound bull moose. But I have the stories to tell. That makes it all worth it.
Hey Josh I got a 1978 Goldwin it's 300 miles have been 300000 on it trying to find parts to rebuild the carburetors because they're wore out hope you have a nice day and hope you have a easy ride back home have fun I said that
Matt, can you be the guy that Shadetree finally buys a brand new Harley Davidson from? He needs a new Road Glide desperately. If he buys one from you, he can do a series of the ride back to Florida. I only ask because I love the guy and I'd like for him to actually ride a bike that's not over 40 years old, in July, from west to east coast. I think he would enjoy the ride alot more if his bike wasn't held together with bubble gum and bailing wire lol.
Matt, I'm 43 years old. I began riding and bought my first Harley at the age of 41. You taught me how to ride when I purchased some video tutorial you did on a 78 sportster. Then I found shadetree not long after that. Two of my Favorite TH-camrs collab! Love to see two different (e.g. genuinely classic West Coast & uniquely central Florida) vibes, come together for a kick-a$$ podcast. Well, done guys!
Thank you! It was a fun podcast. 🤙🏼
Hey. The way you guy's are crossing over into each other's shows every now and again is, AWESOME !!! Great podcast.
Damn look at that glorious tache. I'm jelly. Josh is a super decent dude.
This was tops! Thank you so much for this conversation with the 3 of you. There's just too many things right that were shared here. 👍

Wow, this is like Rain and Fire colliding at the same time! Great Podcast!

This is the only podcast in history I’ve ever watched all the way through twice. Please give us more.
This is not Matt…
Thank you for sharing. A beer and a half interview, that could have been a six pack. Ride Free

Having fun weirdos 😂 great pod cast Matt and Josh. Sounds like Josh's garage is like looking at a sea of handlebars
I always wondered how this interview would go. It's really really good. Matt, you make great content. Whether going on a trip or sitting in an office, I know I'm going to enjoy the video and learn something.
Thank you! I’m glad people are diggin’ this podcast. Thanks for the comment.

Always great content guys.🤙
Also I hear people talk about Harley being unreliable, and leaking oil, and maybe they leaked oil when they ran the self oiling chain, or unreliable when AMF owned and operated Harley, but the people talking that crap haven't even seen a HD up close in 30 years.

Epic video. Thank you for interviewing Shadetree. Very inspirational. A lot of truth.
I feel you brother. I live in Cleveland and it’s miserable weather here. Cold, rain, snow, wind. Riding in bad weather is part of this great adventure! Great video!
You should put up all your pod cast on you tube I like 👍🏻
I've been waiting for this my 2 favorites hanging out !!!!!
This was just awesome, from the beer spill on the rug, being informative & Shade’s description of Harley starters and beefy satisfying pressing of the switches. ❤
This was a very informative and most of all Entertaining show today Matt. Thank you for sharing. Peace ✌ .

What an awesome conversation. Now, the tongue story was out there, but very interesting. Thank you for captioning ShadeTree's insightful quotes. Keep up the great work with these podcasts.

That was awesome! Laidlaw and Shadetree are the two best motorcycle youtube channels.

that was the most awesome pod cast / interview on all parts !!! >>much love , loyalty , honor , & respect !!>>from n.w. GA. >>riding '95 roadking

Great conversations between some truly rad guys who genuinely love bikes. Been checking daily anxious to see Matt’s Breakdown of the 2023 Breakout 😎

Very cool to see my buddy on your podcast!
Agreed man. He is a genuine dude that is just super rad with everyone. Kudos to him. He’s a great contributor to the motorcycling community.
Well, quite the broad range of topics! Appreciate the honest opinions🙂

Great collaboration. I really enjoy these podcasts with other famous Harley TH-camrs.
That was an awesome interview.
Great job to all of you! Was very interesting.
Wow! Fun to listen to Josh being so serious! He is really thoughtful and well spoken! Who knew?
Great podcast guys! Fun and entertaining.
Hey now... I love my Rocker C! (mumbles something indiscernable about the Rocker being the precursor of the Breakout) LOL 😁

Thanks Matt, this episode was as good as the ones with your grandfather and father. Been watching Shadetree for about ten years also.
Great Collab. I follow all of you. And wish you all safe rides. Much love from Australia.
