    Great video and very helpful information. I did the tests and condenser and evaporator fan works fine along with thermostat. I noticed next to evaporator coil - notice a chunk of ice build up. After thawing it, ran the 15 mins test as you recommended, I see some frost. What would cause the ice build up next to Evaporator coils (looks like kidney bean)?

    This is such an informative video. My machine is triggering the breaker making it go out at its location. Do you know if that is because of the fan or the condenser?

    Hello there and thank you for your very very helpful videos. So my question is checked the condenser fan and it was good then the evaporator fan and it did not turn on so did the evaporator coil test and it froze up like in the video does that mean it needs to be charged too or is that caused due to the fan not working?

      @FunnyRandomz4U 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It either means the fan has gone bad or the relay has gone bad. You can check to see if your evaporator fan is running in the back. That will be a pretty clear sign it is time to replace your evaporator fan.

    I have a KM series machine. It's only a year old and its getting louder. From your video I believe it's the evaporator fan. The one that is always on, what should I look for if it is getting louder? I removed the back and made sure it's not sure it's not sucking up dust. I just don't know what to do now.

    Ok one thing that we should do with these machines is blow out your condenser coils. This should be the first thing that you do. I work on ice boxes for a ice company. If you can't see thru them it's not a good sign.

    Hi. My Royal 650 has a lot of ice build up around the entire evaporator coil. How can I thaw it out while preventing any leaks at the location? Where should drip pans be placed? Should I remove the chute like you did in your test?

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will want to unplug the machine and let the ice melt off while keeping a towel near the bottom of the machine to soak up any overflow water. You can also use a hair dryer to help accelerate melting the ice. Please do not chisel or poke at the ice as this can damage the evap coil.

    I have a dixie narco 276 just restored the entire machine. Replaced the compressor housing with a new compressor and rebuilt evaporator and condenser. I noticed the compressor will run 15min on and 15min off ranging from 35°-37° new thermostat. This unit is installed in my basement which is about 65°. Is this the normal cycle? Or should I start looking for some kind of air leak? I also for the first time fully stocked the machine full of room temp cans and it took almost 6 hours to reach 35 degrees. My evaporator in 15 minutes looks exactly like the one in your video. I found quite a few other videos that say that is perfectly normal, including the company that I bought the refurbished compressor deck from lol. When you had yours looked at, did they say there was something wrong with it??

    • @VendingMachineSupport

      From your description it sounds that everything is working ok in your machine cooling wise. Drink vending machines are not energy efficient like your typical modern refrigerator.

    I recently purchased a Vendo 516. The condenser isn't getting cold. I can't find ANY information on replacements. Do you have any suggestions or if there are replacements for it?

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Vendo 516 is an older Vendo unit and new units are hard to come by. I would look for a locally owned and independent HVAC mechanic or appliance repair to have a look at the unit. These cooling decks are very simple in the grand scheme of cooling units.

  • @raulperez5471
    @raulperez5471 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Compressor seems to work and the evaporator coil is getting cold but I don't see The frost built as seen on your video. I can see light frost on the sides and on the tube in the front.

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your unit may be low on charge or has a blockage in the lines. Might want to call in a HVAC mechanic.

    I just bought a royal 660-9 & having the same problem with the machine , I can't get the compressor to turn on when it's plugged into the power harness but when I unplug the compressor & plug it into an extension cord the compressor kicks on no problem, I'm brand new to this vending business & would appreciate your expertise, Thanks!!!

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Donnie B From your description and trouble shooting steps. It sounds like you could have a faulty refrigeration relay. The Royal 660 was designed by Coke-Cola but manufactured by Royal Vendors for Coke Asset Operators. The 660 shares some similarities to the Royal 650. I have several videos about the Royal 650. Two of which deal with the refrigeration relay. This relay can be tested from the control board to determine if it opens and closes.
      The 660 uses a four button programing as the Royal 650 uses the a three button programing. Though the concept I show in the videos can be applied to the 660.
      How to test the Royal FRIG relay: th-cam.com/video/yIgDyCrBk4Q/w-d-xo.html
      Troubleshooting a Royal FRIG relay with a voltmeter: th-cam.com/video/5SYYrIn3tYs/w-d-xo.html
      If the relay opens and closes when tested with a voltmeter then the issue is the actual power junction assembly that the compressor plugs in to. I hope the gets you pointed in the right direction. Thank you for watching and supporting.

    My condenser fan takes time to turn on is that a concern? When it turned on, I moved the Thermostat to 0/0ff and the fan turned off. Does the fan take a while to turn on or is it supposed to be immediate

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically the condenser fan should start as soon as power is applied to it. Unless there is a time delay device which I have only seen once. If the condenser fan is taking some time to start up there is a good chance that it is also not running at full RPM. In turn reducing the amount of air that is pulled through the condenser coil and over the compressor head. This causes overheating and problematic cooling issues.

    I’m try to diagnose my Dixie-Narco and it fails the thermostat test but it also doesn’t get frosty on the coils. Should I replace the thermostat and try the frost test again?

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ethan Irwin If the evaporator coils did not get frosted over within 15 minuted when connecting the compressor directly to power (which bypasses the thermostat). Then replacing the thermostat will not produce a different result. Make sure when you tested the compressor you did this with the machine unplugged from the wall and the compressor connected directly to power via an extension cord.

      Or connect a few cable ties together and poke it down the drain hole (under the evaperator) until you see it poke out the end of the tube.

    So what is happening when the coke cans are over freezing literally lost like 40 cans due to them bursting in machine . It was winter in Texas but last month could drinks have over froze due to outside temperatures?

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to establish what is the temp inside you machine. Stick a thermometer in the machine. You are looking for temps between 40F to 36F. Diet drinks freeze at 34F while other type of drinks and water will freeze at 32F. If the temp in your machine balances out between 40F and 36F after letting the machine run for a few hours. Then the freezing cold be due to outside temps.

    That keeps leaking water on the floor. How do I fix this.

    • @VendingMachineSupport
      @VendingMachineSupport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a drain hose that takes the water coming from the pan that sits beneath the evap coil and deliveries it to the drain pan. Check to make sure the hose is attached correctly or not clogged. Also make sure the hose is actually sitting in the drain pan.

While the compressor is off I was able to hear the blower fan behind the block of ice also I can see the compressor fan spinning. I shut the machine down for a day to let ice thaw to visually inspect the coils there was some slight browning at the bottom but not much. With the machine back on for a day I returned and the ice started build back up, please help.
