Arangetram is done after a dancer reaches a certain stage of mastery over her craft. It is done paying homage to her Gurus and parents. I do appreciate the Ambani family taking forward the tradition of this beautiful art form, but it is quite clear that apart from her beautiful face, her whole posture lacked the discipline of Bharatnatyam. She has a long , long way to go.
Yes I do agree with you. As a student of Indian classical dance I know how long it takes to master the art of dance. Her posture, her movements, her mudras they still need a lot of improvement. Her dances still needs a lot of finishing. Only giving expressions won't make anything.
She has a good face for camera and emotions, ambani can launch her in movies. But bharatnatyam, can't be bought with money. Only the ones blessed by the goddess get that grace and mudras after years of sadhana and abhyas. Good to see Indian culture being hyped and promoted and that's a big plus.

I guess the criticism is arriving because one two reasons, one that Arangetram is done when the disciple has completed the mastery over the dance form and does it to pay homage to her guru/s. It's achieved after years and years sometimes upto 2 decades of training to achieve that mastery over the dance form. Though mastery can be achieved within 5-6 years it requires immense dedication and practice. Radhika started learning around 2016-17 which is barely 6 years and as one can see she is yet to perfect the art form so having an Arangetram makes no sense. Secondly she's to be daughter in law of the Ambani's so unnecessary media coverage as well as the extreme grandeur for someone who is at best mediocre at her art rn.
If she learnt not that long ago then it's actually very good but they could have not performed this specific ceremony which is done after decades of perfecting your craft
Just because one has money doesn't give them right to totally humiliate something worthy of tremendous respect, she needed to be taken off of the stage! Totally disagree
Within 6 years of continuous learning, one can gain perfection in Bharatanatyam. Probably she was learning other classical forms along with Bharatanatyam and chose to do Bharatanatyam arangetram. Her Bharatanatyam still needs a lots to go. Some expressions were good but there is no perfection in the mudras.

Why are people so critical of this family? Jealous much?! Bharatnatyam is tough! Moreover it’s an art, so not everyone is going to excel at it. Doesn’t mean one shouldn’t pursue an art form because one is not outstanding at the outset! She started training as an adult, which means she did it because she likes it and is interested in it, simple? Almost all my friends who learnt as kids stopped pursuing further or practising as they got busy with life, so appreciate that she managed to put 8 years along with whatever else she was doing. I’ve attended arangetram ceremonies before and not all of them were excellent. For the near and dear ones, it’s a big deal, so they’re cheering her, isn’t that what family is about?

She's much better than Aishwarya. Don't even compare. This girl's attempt was an honest one. Whereas Aishwarya took up something clearly too much for her and messed it up. Lol
@@lovereachable both are good

With such an amount of affluence, there aren't that many who would stick to tradition grounded in modesty. Though Radika looks like an amateur in her dancing she is mature for her age in every other aspect which would help her in the long run. And the bond between the mother-in-law and the daughter-in-law is amazing. Looks more like the bond between a mother and daughter. For me it's heart warming to see this when I am witnessing feud between mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law all around. Radhika has an innocence about her. God bless her
I think this is just a performance done for ones wish to be fulfilled … to be on stage & do arangetram. Don’t know how far they will continue to learn, practice & perform in future. But frankly her movements, postures, steppings, agility needs to be improved. This is just the start, classical dance is a vast ocean for continuous learning & improving.
Hopefully she continues to learn , improve & promote classical art in future.
😢😢😢kitna pyara dance h apka
Radhika is a young girl who deserves a greater appreciation. She will undoubtedly overcome all of her shortcomings and become India's best dancer. Radhika, may God bless you.
She's in her late 20s - 28 or 29. That's a woman not a girl. So many women in india take up family's financial responsibilities before this age.
She is so so pretty omg 🥰🥰🥰

She seems to be enjoying herself and that's the most important part
You can definitely see a difference in her performance from many others. However considering she has less than 10yrs and started as an adult this was a joy to watch. Many of us adults are just now being able to follow our dreams of practicing the Classical Arts and reaching the level of Arangetram. I hope that when I have my Arangetram, which will be at 45 years old with 10yrs experience, that people are much more kind to me than they are being to this lovely woman.
Such dance originates from the south...and as a south indian and former classical dance student, this is not a dance graduation worthy. I have seen farrrr skilled dances in their arangetrams....her hips below seemed weak...classical is rigid at most times. Your feet when doing aramandams has to be close together....i felt her feet were wide apart and idk her movements were too fluid. I dont know what i calll this show as???
Agree 💯 percent.
True I noticed it. I also used to dance Bharat Natyam as a kid.
Very stiff lacking grace
Aramgetram at 24 after 8 yr practice...
V poor
Anyways, appreciate the interest in Indian classic
Right. The performance lacks attraction. I think my school's bharatnatyam dancers are more talented.
Exactly…this is too poor for 8 years of practice
Even the aramandalam looks weird
Best moment was tht when she offered flower Pattles to Natraj the God of Dance.RadhikaM is beautiful.Congrates
Thank you for confirming the name of the deity for me (i guessed, but wasn't sure).
I was searching for kitchidi recepie I don’t y this video came along 😥
The best comment ever
I wasn't aware of something like Arangetram ....Thanks Radhika and Ambani family....Best thing is Ambani's follow the Indian culture which many elites dont
Both the daughters in law are much above average. Both are highly accomplished. They are both adorable and also at the same time command respect.
I don't understand why people do arangetram in a hurry it should only be done when u reach a certain level and she clearly has not reached that level, she she doesn't even has a proper angashudham she should have practiced more........i am a bharatnatyam kuchipudi and mohiniyattam learner myself...... performing rangapravesham is very big thing...when one performs without reaching the level it feels like disrespect to the artform..pls don't do that.... anyways congratulations for your first step towards this wonderful artform
Beautiful Radhika exhibiting such a rich Indian Heritage, in a most graceful manner. Most beautiful bonding between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law. Classy and Cultured, so mesmerising.
Well done indeed.❤❤😊👍💝💐
very pathetic!
Let this cultural heritage keep going on its way till this world exist.
She definitely gonna be a threat to Aishwarya Rajnikant. 😆😆😆

All I can say she is brilliant and was very proud to see youngsters are taking the torch and carrying forward with classical dancing ratherthan discos only...Things can and will improve if there is passion and interest.
As a trained bharatanatyam dancer all i can say is that she is really far from performing her arangetram...she has to be perfect in basics first and this also proves that money can buy anything in this world
Best wishes for Radhika & Ananta .

She is beautiful. The Shabari( my assumtion) was moving.
It is not easy when you know there will be huge scrutiny and criticism. It's a young girl at her arangetram... be kind.
This family is so close and supportive. They just happen to be extremely rich. Good for them.
I hope she continues with her training , she'll become a lovely dancer.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'd say it is the fault of her teacher, for putting her up on display before she is ready.
bro she is not ready.... this was painful to watch as she looks so uncomfortable. money isn't everything as they couldn't even bother about finding her a good teacher to teach her correctly
Of course she’s not ready and this was not an up to the mark performance, so the teacher should be made accountable, isn’t it?
My point was about people making crass comments like “money can’t buy talent” and the likes.
@@shwet218 i get that, but there are a lot of people to blame here. i have no idea why they event thought this was a good idea as she doesn't even know any basics. its sad tbh, but what i am saying is even with all that money, you can't make a good dancer. it is something that should come natural
@@shwet218 that's because there are people who even at 6-7 years of training dance way better than her based on what she presented at her Arangetram.

Radhika Merchant is a beginner in Bharatnatyam! The gestures of Bharatnatyam must be spontaneous!
I think that's why some people are disappointed. She is a beginner, she was no where close to ready for her Arangetram. She should've waited a few more years. Not sure how her Guru allowed it.

Should be a fierce performance. After 8 year learning
Very average performance. But appreciate her effort to learn
Below average!!..., Aftr 8 years of learning!!
Very bad performance
Bharatanatyam takes far more than just 8 years. And some may have a lot of passion for an art form but maybe a little lacking in innate talent. I am sure Radhika will do much better with more practice. But I wish she had waited for her Arangetram.
