Anything about its relation to or erasure of GT was gradual as Super went on, rendering things noncanon implicitly, not explicitly. Hell, it wasn't even clear how the BoTG and Resurrection F movies would factor in until Super started overwriting them. Only the viewers like you and me talked about canonicity.
