      I tried Aveo Joy for astigmatism my eyes DID NOT like them at all I felt like sandpaper on my eye and when I took them out it was like peeling off my eye it was so uncomfortable no matter how many rewetting drops I used. I currently use air optics hydraglyde they feel so silky on my eyes I love it

      I tried bio true lenses..wasnt good for my eyes. Also I did air optix coloured lenses I couldn't see with it. But my prescription is freshlook lenses, of dia of 14.5 with base curve 8.6..so I was thinking maybe that's y I couldn't use the air optix lens

      I had a patient I fit in Clariti contacts. The next year they returned they were wearing Hubble with NO Rx for it. They said their eyes hurt but they were paying for the contacts so they just kept wearing them. She grew 3mm of corneal neovascularization, 360degrees. I hadn't seen any neovascularization from contact wear in a patient for almost 10 years. It's bring back old problems by selling old technology to patients that don't know the difference and also don't have a Rx for it.

    • @jg2750

      @@phillouis95701) I have fit BioTrue contacts on many patients. It has been a little hit or miss when it comes to comfort with that lens. It's a quality lens on paper with a budget friendly price but it isn't always the most comfortable for every patient. Sometimes you just need to let your doctor know about your experience and he/she can try a different daily disposable brand/material and get a significantly different outcome on comfort without even having to reach for the more expensive premium options. 2) Air Optix colors is a completely different approach to contacts compared to BioTrue. Air Optix Colors often limits vision to some degree simply because a color pattern is applied to the contact itself and keep in mind that it should be replaced generally monthly. 3) As for the dia and Base curve, those are fitting parameters. If your doctor actually takes the time to check the fit of the contacts and finds a good fit, then the sharpness of your vision shouldn't really matter if those numbers change (at least when we are talking about soft contacts). 4) Finally, remember I'm just a random voice online, always verify online advice with your personal eye doctor. People online all to often give misleading advice. Always verify important medical information with your doctor before making important medical decisions.

    I’ve been wearing Hubble for about 5 years now. Never an issue, ever. My eye doctor checked out my eye health (after telling him I wear Hubble… gave me a scathing review of them) and then was completely baffled as to my eye health. Guess I’m one of the lucky ones!

    Hubble did not verify my prescription, and they did the exact same thing for me. Comfort lasted about 4 hours max. If I left them in longer, my eyes would feel irritated AF. HUGE difference from the dk/t I'm used to with my Air Optix Aqua Night & Day. I stopped wearing Hubble! Good to know the technology behind them, thank you!

    It’s amazing that other contact lens specifications “matter”. I have used Desio, Acuvue clear, Colorblends, Olens, Neo, Air Optix and they ALL feel the same :D I just need -3.25 and that’s it! Never had any infection. If anything affects my contacts experience, I feel it is behavioral or psychological. For instance if I am nervous or stressed, my vision would not be so clear. If I am relaxed, no probs using the same contacts. Definitely nothing to do with material, diameter, bc, spherical whatnot. Contacts wearer since age 13. Turning 32 in October 2021.

All these socially media companies have one thing in common, they’re just trying to make a quick buck by generating hype rather than actually working on their reputation and longevity

    I remember wanting to try hubble a few years ago but they did not offer an extended range or account for astigmatism at the time. Thankfully I never tried to buy them again. I now use the Coppervision biofinity toric lenses for my horrible astigmatism and they’re the BEST lenses I’ve ever tried, even if they are expensive.

    I ordered hubble contacts few days ago and the experience of trying them on was pretty bad. Just had them for 4 hrs and my right eye vision started to become blurry. So I had to blink frequently and check if its in the right position. Later on I took them off and it started to irritate. My eyes went a little bit red, so I washed with plain water and after sometime put some eyedrops, which felt A LOT BETTER. I haven't worn them since. And as for subscription cancellation, I think they heeded to the comments, complaints and reviews because my subscription was canceled within a day. Maybe because I'm in UK, don't know, but calls and emails both work. I asked them to send me a confirmation of my permanent cancellation and they did.

    Hubble's business model is a great idea. Their mistake is picking an inferior material of methafilcon A. Most lens manufacturers are pushing for new materials (but they come with their own problems), so the older materials are being sold in generic brands as the patents expire. Hubble should have went with etafilcon A. Acuvue build their entire empire on etafilcon A and to this day, it's still one of the top selling lens material. Hubble contract their manufacturing inTaiwan, and there are several other factories there that have perfected etafilcon A production in low cost. I have been wearing contacts for 30+ years and tried various new silicone hydrogel products but always go back to Acuvue/etafilcon A. While improvements attempted, silicone hydrogel still struggles with lipid build up (jelly bumps) that can make it unbearably uncomfortable and cause everything to look hazy.

    I knew immediately they were different and they didn't send the same script it was out of their range basically. I've worn contacts since 12 and am not always good. I have worn sickeningly too long and gotten infections, all sorts of other eye problems, swimming, too dry, poor hygiene, camping, sleeping all the time. Hubble was the most ever convenient because it gave me stock, when I always would have chunks of time I couldn't afford eye exams and expired with no back up glasses. I had lots of these even after caneling (fairly easily i guess) i rationed them out to last longer and it helped. So, being so cavalier about so much, but learning and doing my best. They were the only contacts that would hurtfully sting me to tell me to change them or just take them out because they were in. It truly was weird. Because it was longer than most would experience but when it was I knew I needed to take them off or change for new ones. Like the Chems break down and hurt not just my physiology. I became super light nor just sun sensitive, was before when I had other problems with eyes, but this was specific. Poor oxygen flow yes, but just not right. I would do again to be able to store up some, thought I know they expire. But, I did time this right before the pandemic, and other life horror events so I had emergency supply when I needed it, that I would not have been able to afford otherwise. I so appreciate your sharing information. I wondered if they were such different design by not being brand scripts, and about oversight......not just fot contacts. 😳

    I am becoming an optometrist in less than 4 month (if everything goes as planned 😁) and I'm so sad to say that in my country (I live in Europe), those, who order their contact lenses online, do not need a valid prescription for it, nor does the website validates if it is up to date or was prescribed by a proffessional when one places an order. It really gives a headache to the optometrist community here 😩

      I wear what is called a spherical equivalent. Which is the sphere power plus 1/2 of my astigmatism power, and it places the focus point of the lenses right onto my retina. Vision is still good, roughly 20/20 or 20/15. I can see a little sharper when I wear my astigmatism glasses over the contacts.

    • @adamwaclaw476
      @adamwaclaw476 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoctorEyeHealth So what contact lens power should you actually wear? A few diopters minus with -0,75 cyl? And are you wearing the equivalent because of MGD and intolerance? I recently switched to Ultra for Astigmatism with Hi-Care solution (previously Mydays Toric) and that is my final combo, after trying out all of daily si-hy, all monthly si-hy contacts with probably every MPS/Hydrogen Peroxide system available.

    These looked really fishy to me with all their ads in IG so I didn't get them, but a lot of sites don't seem to ask for your prescription, although I live in the UK and none of the lense sites here need a prescription for lenses, but they do for glasses for some reason

    I got hubble but I didn't know much about contacts and ended up using my eyeglass prescription.
    I have the contacts now but the whole experience of buying them and then reading their policy sketched me out. Glad I used Paypal so they can't charge me. I have an appointment to get my contact prescription and I was wondering what are good daily contacts? if you wear any what do you prefer?

    Contacts are so expensive so this has always been tempting but they don't make anything for stronger astigmatism.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That can be true, astigmatism lenses are often more expensive. Have you considered hard RGP contact lenses, they can be much cheaper in the long run and give better vision.

    • @QueenBloom

      @@DoctorEyeHealth my eye doctor told me it's easier to get an infection with RGP contacts. I got a bad infection with weekly lenses Im not risking it again with lenses I would be wearing for six months. Daily lenses are so much safer.

      @@QueenBloom Easier to get an infection with RGP lenses? That's odd as Soft lenses are more porous than RGP ones. I went from RGP to soft lenses and I have astigmatism. RGP lenses hurt so bad when you get any debris in-between them!

    I get them once in a while, I only use them for 4-6 hours, so other than some dryness I haven't had any problems, but I also don't wear them every day. I need to stabilize in a prescription before I commit to a brand, but I need to find a doctor that will take me seriously. My last doctor confused my inability to read font size 12 or smaller for problems with near vision because I can't see it from more than half an arm length away, even though my near is fine aside from a mild asigmatism that doesn't necessarily need correction, I was given reading glasses which made me have to basically put my eye next to the screen or paper to see clearly. But having mild distance glasses helps me see the text more clearly, however I still can't read road signs with text until I'm about 6 feet away, or 4 feet at night. 🤷‍♀️ The contacts help with the mask 😅

    I've used hubble contacts and u can feel ur eyes get no oxygen my eyes stay dry and sometimes when I pull a lens off the contact will put a severe scratch on my eyes lasting for about 3 or 4 days even the best rewetting drops barely help ur eyelids glide over these outdated contacts. And I've had issue after issue canceling a subscription and was double charged for for subscription price and they would not reimburse me my money u have to get a whole new debit card to get them to stop charging ur card.
