    Merry Christmas and Happy new year from across the pond…… As a “yank”, of 77 years, I was stationed at High Wycombe, Upper Heyford, and Croughton back in the 70’s and 80’s…. And I still have 2 unopened boxes of Silver Jets, and some original Eley Wasps and a tin of .22 David Nickerson Magnums! I started air rifle shooting with the BSA Meteor, then the HW77 (I still have), and bought the Limited Edition, BSA Centenary Airsporter 1 of 1000, (I still have) both the HW77 and Airsporter are in original condition. These days, I shoot FX, Steyr, Daystate, EDgun and American Air Arms PCP’s, I have many years of Airgun World in their annual Blue Binders that I brought back with me from England all those years ago. A friend near Banbuyr sends me his yearly copies of Airgun World every year as a Christmas Present, He used to send Airgunner and Shooting Sports…. Sad to see them both shut down. Anyway, great start with this new Podcast series. But…. Terry needs to get modern with ear buds…he’s at home, not at the range!!!

    This is great - please keep it up. I’ve been teaching my 9 yr old grandson using my Brk concept XR which works well as you can easily set the stock to the right length; we also use the odd Firebird reactive exploding target which always goes down well !

    Very interesting something a little different as long as it doesn’t get like most other you tube channels with the SO called influencers . Well done.

    Great Blog Guys, looking forward to more - I see “front” add ons will be the next big thing to utilise standard scopes without the disadvantages of the rear add ons.

    • @richsaunders6515
      @richsaunders6515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Philip. We'll be recording the next podcast in a few days time when Mat and I will be talking to Tony Belas of Daystate/BRK Brocock/MTC Optics. I agree, front add-ons are a great option, especially on recoiling rifles. The only drawback I've found is that they can make a scope very long and fiddling around with controls at arm's reach is not always easy, especially if prone. But for sure, some great products out there...

    Great show I have 2 springers looking at getting my first pcp a hw100 kit in .20 what are the pros and cons thanks 👍👍

    • @richsaunders6515
      @richsaunders6515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Nigel. 20 cal seems like it should offer the perfect compromise between the more popular .177 and .22 calibres. The only issue I can think of is the availability of pellets in terms of range of different brands, designs given that .20 is something of a niche. But if you can find a pellet that performs well in your HW100 KT I'm sure it will be awesome.

    maybe i am oldfahioned, but a starter starts with a springer

    • @derekedgley5074
      @derekedgley5074 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, none of them looking at their ages probably started out with a PCP hence a springer category should have been first and foremost

    • @richsaunders6515
      @richsaunders6515 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Airgunners of a certain vintage all did. But ask yourself whether you would have wanted to shoot with a PCP or springer had they both been around when you started out?

  • @roberthowe2910

    With the pard ds 35...its easy..u can set each ritical at different distances.....

    • @richsaunders6515
      @richsaunders6515 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert. That's true - there are, I think, five different profiles so you can set five different zero distances. The benefit of the ballistic calculator on the LRF version is that once you've picked a zero and set the function up the scope will calculate hold over and under for you at the press of a button, so no need to swap between different profiles. Merry Christmas and happy new year.

    • @richsaunders6515
      @richsaunders6515 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi John. You're right - most air rifles in the UK are indeed max 12 ft/lbs, but not all of them. Hopefully we'll continue to have plenty of sub 12 ft/lbs chat to keep you listening in the future. Merry Christmas and happy new year.

    Whist info etc ref airguns is exceptional being new to the scene within the Berkshire area I have to say more needs to be done regards to air rifle ranges and clubs. Within my area supply is in short supply and can be costly and hours and days open very poor
