As a buyer on Faire, I didn’t look at most of the things you mentioned. The photos are important. But I never read any brand stories. I looked at the pictures, prices and packaging. Also, the minimum to buy was a big factor.
Great to hear from a buyers perspective! I had a brand tell me they loved reading my brand story, so I think it just depends :) but definitely the photos, pricing and minimums are very important!

I have a couple of questions, how much inventory do you have to have already made, and how soon do you have to send them out? I’m approved but haven’t set up my shop yet because I don’t know the answer to these questions!

It took me 8-9 months to get approved the first time, not sure why the delay because once I was finally approved I wasn't motivated and didn't ave the time to spend setting everything up. Luckily it was in October so I managed to get Fall/Holiday products up. I made 1 sale within the first 2 days and I've never gotten another sale since (9 months) :( I really wonder how "cheap" they are wanting to see products sold for, I have my 8oz tins at $7.99, 4oz tins $4.99, and 3oz melts at $2.50. That is all half of what I charge on my website.
I think it really just depends! I don’t really have “cheap” things, I think I am priced fairly for both me and the retailer. I think that photos, descriptions and minimums are super important for catching the eye of retailers. And of course if they feel your aesthetic will go with their store! Don’t think it’s because your prices aren’t cheap enough, I would focus on optimizing your listings, creating collections, have appealing and professional photos, etc

TL;DR: I made zero effort, so made no sales. Takeaway: put in some work.
Fairie is garbage and I won’t be buying from them anymore. Stay with a website.
