I like the respect you show for the natural balance, in whihc all life lives off death. Instead of freaking out when the hermit crabs ate the anemones, you accepted that this would limit where the anemones could thrive.
When I was a kid my grandmother loved to prepare a Thanksgiving feast that included lobster, and here I am, years later, excited to watch a lobster feast … on a treat. Happy Thanksgiving, Leon! Be well, Jet. Thanks for sharing them all with us.
Someone probably took that rooster out to the woods and dropped him off. They probably purchased baby chicks to get hens and if any turn out to be roosters they meet a terrible fate. It’s a shame but I know people who think roosters should just be disposed of, if they want hens for eggs. Sad! I’m so glad to see everyone is doing so well. I had a young cat get run over on the road near our farm. He was already living on the farm. His leg was so bad it had to be removed. So he then ended up an indoor cat. That was over 20 years ago and he passed away recently aged 22. Such a lovely cat. Thanks for all your uploads and your love of living things
We had a neighbor call my son and his wife because she is a vet tech, well they had this poor cat who was curled up on their porch to die but my son and his wife took him in and they found out he was blind. It was a miracle that no predators got to him because of where we live. But the cat they named Stevie and its amazing to watch this cat get around and he is a big lover. So he turned from death to a really good life.

I feel ya about leashes for dogs, OMG. I wish people would stick to leash laws, I can't count how many times me an my service dog have been rushed/attacked by peoples dogs out on the trail. From nowhere I hear someone's dog rushing us with a "Don't worry he's friendly!" Only to then have some dolts pet then attack Amber. Usually then fallowed by the owner "Huh normally he's soo friendly," I don't care how well trained your dog is, a leashed dog is a safe dog.
5:30 Cool story: Domestic chickens were originally Forest Fowl from Asian/China. They lived in bamboo Forrest's and people figured out that they laid more eggs when more food was available. Really regularly too! So they caught a few and the chicken was born 🐓 So, yes. That forrest _is_ the chicken's natural habitat! Just on another continent

It has been amazing how much Leon has grown since the first episode I saw him brought back to be raised . He has gotten so large and will keep growing bigger and get even bigger claws . Hope to see him again soon .

When I first saw the mystery chicken visitor, her vertical tail indicated she's a junglefowl. Now, seeing that rooster, he's clearly junglefowl, probably the red species. That means someone bought them (or their grandparents) and they got loose. They have been forest dwellers for millions of years. They're definitely survivors and thrivers.

I have a 3 legged cat, she's missing her right back leg. I named her Thump, because that is the sound she makes as she hops across the floor...thump, thump, thump, thump. She gets around the house very easily, climbs on the kitty condo and has zoomies every night...around 3 am. Your little black kitty will be fine once everything heals : )
Hey, thanks for stopping and checking on that rooster! I used to have pet bantam chickens, and would have appreciated someone doing the same if one or more had somehow gotten lost - they were very friendly and would have come right to you. I don’t know how that rooster got way out there, but I’m glad it looks like he’s thriving!
Someone may have purposefully dropped it off in the woods if they happened to live in an area that doesn't allow roosters (because of crowing) and couldn't find someone to adopt it.
Glass Shrimp: To help them have enough food, you can take the yolk of a boiled egg and pinch off pieces and distributed into the water. I would do about a quarter no more than a third at each feeding. It’ll also be good for the filter feeders in the aquarium. It’s something you use to feed baby fish and Brian Shrimp when you’re raising them.

I remember when Leon's grocery store video first popped up in my recommended not long after it had been uploaded. Nothing about what I had been watching would indicate that the algorithm should suggest it, but I was like "Heck yeah I want to see this!" I've been here ever since, eagerly awaiting each new update. :)
Glad Jet is alright. And I feel it isn't a bad idea to give Leon something that lets him exercise his sense of caution occasionally like he did with the crab legs. It definitely would help him mentally in addition to the usual enrichment you do. It's natural for lobsters in the wild to be cautious, and I think we don't want Leon to become lazy and not caring about anything besides food.
I think that rooster was dropped off. Around here people end up with roosters they don't need and have trouble re-homing them. Nearby vegetarians don't want them to be eaten, even by people in need. Then the neighbours start whining about the crowing (a sound I love), and the roosters get abandoned.
Growing up on a farm, our dog lost his right rear leg in an accident. He recovered quickly, and only lost five mph off his top speed. He also loved to chase cars on the highway, ut couldn’t stop as fast with one less leg.

I was just thinking about Leon the other day. Glad that you have rescued other animals. We have 7 rescue cats- we go to the low cost clinic to have them spayed/ neutered.
Your city might have the trap and release program. They spay/neuter and cut the right ear. If you see the cats in Austin, Texas you know that they have been fixed. If one of the cats is sick or needs treatment you call the city. Our rats population has really gone down. Plus we are famous for our bats in Austin, Texas. Bet you never thought that you would be a cat and chicken daddy.

I've been following Leon's progress from the beginning. Who would have thought watching a lobster grow and develop would be so fascinating? I also did my little part to help support Leon. I now enjoy my morning coffee from my Leon the Lobster coffee mug. 👍☕
Aw man, that intro... I always 'feared' (for lack of a better word) that Leon would be _given_ a voice and a zany personality at some point. I know it's just a bit of fun but it always rubs me the wrong way when pet owners do that. Edit: I still loved the episode like always. So amazingly well paced and I'm invested in all aspects of the show.
I’m really enjoying watching your channel and have a suggestion for you. My cousin is the manager of the seafood counter at a grocery store. She said they occasionally get in damaged seafood. Things that aren’t spoiled but maybe broken or not well shaped. They just toss it. She mentioned if someone approached her she would gladly make arrangements to donate it for aquarium use. Just an idea.
Reminds me of a big old salt tank we had. All the expensive fish died in it during a few day power outage when we were out of town, But we left it running for years with no fish and it was amazing all the little creatures that showed up over the months - crab, shrimp, anemone, snails, even a small eel and some random tiny fish. Long before, my brother had gotten some 'live' rock someplace and it certainly turned out to be that.
I love the new free-from-factory farm rooster. They really are beautiful creatures, chickens & roosters. They can be wonderful companion animals. Free or companion-eating them not required! 🐓

I have been watching since the first video and still love getting a new Leon video. I really enjoy how the channel has grown to include the 125 gallon tank, it's like watching a small ocean develop. I also enjoy watching the kittens grow up and going along with you as explore old, abandoned, houses and back roads. At my age and health, I don't get out very much so I have fun on your dime.😁😁Glad Jett is doing so well and that Mama still lives happy, healthy and free.

I’ve been following Leon from the beginning but I’m equally invested in Jet’s story at this point too. I also recently adopted a feral black kitten.

I would do about a quarter no more than a third at each feeding. It’ll also be good for the filter feeders in the aquarium. It’s something you use to feed baby fish and Brian Shrimp when you’re raising them.

I remember when Leon's grocery store video first popped up in my recommended not long after it had been uploaded. Nothing about what I had been watching would indicate that the algorithm should suggest it, but I was like "Heck yeah I want to see this!" I've been here ever since, eagerly awaiting each new update. :)
Glad Jet is alright. And I feel it isn't a bad idea to give Leon something that lets him exercise his sense of caution occasionally like he did with the crab legs. It definitely would help him mentally in addition to the usual enrichment you do. It's natural for lobsters in the wild to be cautious, and I think we don't want Leon to become lazy and not caring about anything besides food.
I think that rooster was dropped off. Around here people end up with roosters they don't need and have trouble re-homing them. Nearby vegetarians don't want them to be eaten, even by people in need. Then the neighbours start whining about the crowing (a sound I love), and the roosters get abandoned.

Growing up on a farm, our dog lost his right rear leg in an accident. He recovered quickly, and only lost five mph off his top speed. He also loved to chase cars on the highway, ut couldn’t stop as fast with one less leg.

I was just thinking about Leon the other day. Glad that you have rescued other animals. We have 7 rescue cats- we go to the low cost clinic to have them spayed/ neutered.
Your city might have the trap and release program. They spay/neuter and cut the right ear. If you see the cats in Austin, Texas you know that they have been fixed. If one of the cats is sick or needs treatment you call the city. Our rats population has really gone down. Plus we are famous for our bats in Austin, Texas. Bet you never thought that you would be a cat and chicken daddy.
Is it just me or the beached junk aquarium is one of the most interesting parts now?

I've been following Leon's progress from the beginning. Who would have thought watching a lobster grow and develop would be so fascinating? I also did my little part to help support Leon. I now enjoy my morning coffee from my Leon the Lobster coffee mug. 👍☕
Aw man, that intro... I always 'feared' (for lack of a better word) that Leon would be _given_ a voice and a zany personality at some point. I know it's just a bit of fun but it always rubs me the wrong way when pet owners do that.

I’m really enjoying watching your channel and have a suggestion for you. My cousin is the manager of the seafood counter at a grocery store. She said they occasionally get in damaged seafood. Things that aren’t spoiled but maybe broken or not well shaped. They just toss it. She mentioned if someone approached her she would gladly make arrangements to donate it for aquarium use. Just an idea.

Reminds me of a big old salt tank we had. All the expensive fish died in it during a few day power outage when we were out of town, But we left it running for years with no fish and it was amazing all the little creatures that showed up over the months - crab, shrimp, anemone, snails, even a small eel and some random tiny fish. Long before, my brother had gotten some 'live' rock someplace and it certainly turned out to be that.

I have been watching since the first video and still love getting a new Leon video. I really enjoy how the channel has grown to include the 125 gallon tank, it's like watching a small ocean develop. I also enjoy watching the kittens grow up and going along with you as explore old, abandoned, houses and back roads. At my age and health, I don't get out very much so I have fun on your dime.😁😁Glad Jett is doing so well and that Mama still lives happy, healthy and free.
