I was at the stadium before six am and the place was already jam packed. Couldnt get inside. Watched the entire service from the doorways. One of the saddest and most joyful moment i had ever witnessed. It still moves me to think about it especially when the Wailers took the stsge.
I remembered the day he died ,when the news hit Grenada 🇬🇩 I cried. The Rastafarians held a rally in solidarity that night and I was there. We listened to his funeral service on the radio . Bob is my Legend , Bob I still love you and your music . And going to see your movie and taking my extra large blanket with you face on it with me to the movies.
I was 15 when Bob died, I was coming from school and heard two schoolmates saying "he is dead, he is dead, yes Bob Marley dead this morning" Honestly, the name didn't ring a bell because in my household the only music played are the LPs gospel our father brought home from farm work in the US.😢. Eventually, I started to learn about the legend😊

In fact, from videos, only a smattering of people were by the wayside waving, as the procession passed on its way to Nine Miles, st. Mary! People do work, you know. And, It was not a public holiday, where people could stay away from work. Don't get it twisted.

I remember standing up at a shop in Brown's Town watching the procession passing. I was in awe.
I was a primary school student at the time,watched the funeral on Tv the day of his burial.I will never for get that .
