what about the RFID chip thats in the black bit you taken off thats for the immobilizer, i just had an issue with the button broken inside, the van would not work unless i had the black surround clicked back together and in the ignition( has your new key surround got the same RFID chip in it for the immobilizer?
My old key is glued into the plastic fob and has no clip to lift up as shown in your video so there no way to get it out without cutting the fob. Then if I do that I am unsure if my key will have a hole in the end of it to enable it to be connected to the new fob.

Good tips some of these are really hard to get hold of. Especially old cars.
Yeah never pay the dealer prices lol. They wanted £180 for This one. My fix cost me £2.80.
Is the chip that recognizes the immobilizer in with the green board ?

Battery makes no difference it it comes out. It stays connected to van
You can remove the battery but you only have a couple of seconds to get the new battery in before it disconnects to the alarm
