Last year I was stressed enough towing a tiny 1300lb fiberglass trailer through the mountains during winter! Totally understand the problems and strategy of towing something, especially when you're not used to it...and especially when it's through unfamiliar terrain and rough weather conditions. Y'all made a wise choice. :) And teardrops are so fun! One reco, state parks for camping/facilities. They're often just as nice as national parks but cheaper and not as busy.
Yea so glad we went with this new plan! It’s been so much fun and stress free pulling the teardrop. And it’s been a blast!

So crazy about your title. Looks like you got a good solution for now to get you to Colorado. If you ever do decide to drive the rig, maybe try going at night. There is a lot less traffic and would be safer and more comfortable for everyone.
In hindsight (since we are now in CO) we are so happy we made that decision and had someone else drive it out. Especially when we started going through the passes in the mountains. Hey, everything happens for a reason!
