Started playing a year ago and in the last few months I’ve consistently shot in the low 90s. After adopting JOMO I’ve broken 90 on my last three rounds and shot a 10 over par this past week. I’m a solid ball striker and put myself in good position off of the tee. I’ve been making silly approach shots and losing many strokes to putting. I feel confident I can move into single digits if I commit to JOMO and work on my lag putting

Broke 90 as a 3rd year golfer, this was my goal for this season.
I did it by leaving the driver at home and tee off with the 3 wood.
I practiced the big stick at the range a couple of times and I found a key that makes me hit straigth bombs!!!
Yesterday was the first round using it all drivable holes and I putted for eagle two times and chipped around the green for eagle 2 times as well !
Missed 2 eagles by an inch!!!
I am now seeing another level of "the glimpse of my potential" !!!
My friend was amazed! And so was I !

So different to what you are used to but at least that course had the widest fairways of any course!. Joonas has enough of a golf game to know he could be a really good player and kudos for the Kansas lyric quote. Just remember Matt, All we are is Dust in the Wind.

Love it. I'm an extremely high handicap player in the '30s right now. I can't shoot less than a hundred and I think a lot of it has to do with confidence of clubs. My drives are awful my irons are good to the green and I can 2-putt with the best of them. Maybe I just have to come to the conclusion this is the best I'll ever be. But your videos are very helpful thank you
Sounds like you just need to correct your driver at this stage. After you straighten up a bit you'll be improving and having fun again.
@@50shadesofgday64 I really am trying but any change I make to my swing makes things worse. I constantly heel The ball or top it. I have a friend coming out this weekend we're playing on Sunday and hopefully he can help me. Thank you.
If you can afford it, lessons are an awesome investment. I used to be a 30 plus handicap like yourself, today I shot a 75. If it’s feasible for you definitely do it.
@@FlankerJackChannel if you're talking only about your driver, I think I have the answer. I think I've been doing the same thing! On your driver, do not set it on the ground but instead hover it behind the ball. Set up behind the ball with the driver on the ground, then raise it slightly, you will notice that it will be contacting the heel. Either set up on the toe or hover the club. Took me 40 years to learn. Still practicing. Good luck an most of all have fun. Or quit. 🙂
Believe it or not, the putting stroke is a microcosm of the full swing. Go spend 10-15 minutes on the practice green before you even think about hitting a full shot on the range. Start on the range with your low irons and work up to the driver. Hit 50 to 80 shots a day for a month. Your own bio-feedback is better than any pro can teach you. And remember that even practice is fun!

I'm getting a bit older now and I club up. Most recreational golfers i've played with always think they hit further than they actually do. I get ribbed on the tee and then when I hit to within 5 feet and they end up short, they have nothing to say.. ssshhhh... sshhh..

So 7 of 8 shot difference comes from under 100 yards. Brutal. There’s really no point praticing driver or 5 iron on the range, it won’t translate in lower score in any way.
From Gary Player to John Daly and me even, we all say it's all about the game inside 125 yards
Well you still need to practice with those, otherwise you'll be hitting from behind trees and in deep rough, or just straight up lose many balls. Those penalties add up really fast.
@@paghal11 Absolutely! The point is, you should be practicing shots inside 125 more than anything else. It doesn't mean ignore your driver though because being in play off the tee is vital and don't forget putting
The difference is full time vs part time. Clearly it's the part timers who can play are of interest.

Started watching this channel 3 years ago when I was a 22 hdcp and just started out. Now am a +1 and still watching! Paid about 10k for lessons and have played every day, but still love watching the channel and learning.
Lucky guy to play every day! Also, that is really fast progress! I have gone from around a 30 to around 20 in a year, and I thought that was fast. I play 18 once a week. I see a lot of my mistakes and issues in Joonas' game.
