MOTO PILOT Have you figured out something with the fuel tank? I was going to do a 600RR tank but the rear head on the V4 is in the way. I’m doing a full blown track build on mine with R1 front end and possibly R1 swingarm.
May gosh if the whole build is dine as well as his feeble attempt at cleaning the engine and, bloomin hell, wire wheelungvthe brake pistols, then it going to end up a death trap STAY WELL CLEAR OF IT FOR EVERYONES SAFTY
I dont know why someone would just attack something, get the manual and do it right especially if someone else's life is on the line by giving it away, good on ya for doing that by the way
add a loop so that you are using both banjo fitting holes, that way you will have 3 pistons working,. on the original set up, 1 piston is operated by the left front caliper. and DON'T use a wire wheel or a wire brush on the pistons, Brake cleaner and solvol autosol will do the trick. If you need to buy new pistons, they are not expensive, and i would not even bother to clean the slide pins, i would install new ones
It's a death trap after seeing that Gosh what a stuff up let alone the lack of care used cleaning the engine. A pig with lipstick on is still a pig He should not promote this type of content Hes potentially putting people at risk
Easier and safer to use the bike's hydraulic system to force out the pistons. Do it just before you detach them and have a plastic bag tied on to catch the schmoo

putting those parts that have coatings on the wire wheel is a huge NO-NO. any thing with a coating or plating can not be cleaned on wire wheel.
The right side center stand bolt is left hand thread. When you go to tap I hope that helps.

BigBadLoneWolf That’s why he drilled a hole in the caliper internals to link them and seal the extra bung. Going to do it on my 02 VFR.

Never seen anyone clean a piston for a caliper on a wire wheel, bad idea.
Its cringeworthy to see a high tolerance hard chrome surface wire wheeled. Hope those pistons work for him still.

So this dude is saying he can say pistons don't move well by just looking... and still he use pliers to remove pistons... use a piston remover!
