Damn right this is badass... I've gotta be a bit biased because Ripper comes from my homestate of Ohio and he was so killer with Priest during this era!!!!
@@martron1962 as if Rob doesn't need to tune down these days...oh wait, that's right he does. How about you go up there and sing at the original pitch if you think Ripper isn't good.
@@gabrieledomingosjardim5358 not me, poor bastard! but Rob Halford is more thousand times better.and the one and only great singer and voice of Judas Priest!! No doubt about it.
A melhor versão que já existiu dessa música. Em 2015, na segunda edição do evento Ruidos no Sertão, o Tim Ripper, junto com Mike Vescera, U.D.O e Blaze Bayley, cantaram essa música. Foi um encerramento magnífico do show
I was truly BLESSED to see this Tour in Dallas, Tx. At the Canyon Club inside the Bronco Bowl Ampetheater. It was Jamming!! He did his job and it was a great show!!
How can any1 possibly say this is bad, or a cover, or even complain about lower octave (Go check Zeppelin or Black Sabbath, how low they went in tuning). He sounds like a modern day Hallford. So much energy and positive vibes.
Tim is so hot and a great singer. What a dream come true for him he idolized this band.Low and behold they found him on youtube, ,,,,!!!!!!!love back stories like this and the singer for journey. RIGHT ON
Ripper isn't so bad on stage. imho better than in studio recordings. but Rob sings in his own league and has the ability to give all the Priest songs this attitude that we all love and whats Priest songs makes so unique.
I think you'll find that's a set list. Ripper would know the lyrics by heart, considering he was in a Judas Priest tribute band before he joined them lol
This is the guy that Mark Walhberg movie Rock Star was semi-based on wasn't it? Anyone know if the band discovered Tim the way the film depicted it..via a JP Tribute band or...?
Im good friends with Tim. Yes it's very similar as the movie. He flew over seas to audition. He sang the first few lines of Victim Of Changes and they offered him the gig on the spot. Tim is an American Icon. Plus he is a great man off stage. My brother.
the ripper is a great guy! very good singer of course..but after halford left JP he helped to keep the myth alive and decided to go to make it possible to reunite with halford..so..great man *bows*
not bad. who am I to judge? Still, this sounds more like a good cover band without the fury of Halford. The music is good, the band does their job, but vocally, the thrill and adventure is lacking. He is a great vocalist, yes, just not the same caliber. It'd be like asking Sammy Hagar to fill in for Geddy Lee, which could not happen-not the same style of music. Great vocalists, just not the same style. Oh well. Still a great song. Well delivered and produced. Sound men did a decent job too. To each their own.
i dont like the way he rushes the end of the prechorus to sing the chorus. i did this with a band once (im 14) and i just sing into the chorus and let the backup vocalists say "livin" just like on the album version. it sounds more epic that way. he is a pretty damn good singer though. and i love how he said judas priest heavy metal every time lol
haha. they must've tuned down quite a bit (like a full step or even a third). came here from an 80's live vid with halford and it was such a contrast. and ah... I just can't stand it when the drummers pull away.
i dnt think they cud av found a better replacement i mean maiden gt blaze n cudnt sing any dickinson songs, ripper is from priest tribute n quite frankly stopped priest splitting
Love Tim's voice, but on that one...I don't know, this song is more of a Hard/Classic Rock song, not that much Metal, and Tim is a hell of a Metal singer. Still love his work, but that one...not so much.

He can't hit Halford's high notes, but he'd be good in an old school hardcore band or punk band, because Halford sounds like a classically trained opera singer or something but Ripper sounds more like basic cock rock vocals.
Totally love this version... Tim is such a great singer.
This is the first time I have heard Priest without Rob and it sounds amazing!!
Damn right this is badass... I've gotta be a bit biased because Ripper comes from my homestate of Ohio and he was so killer with Priest during this era!!!!
Welcome aboard…
Nah, it’s in a lower key, doesn’t compare
Ripper was in British Steel, a Judas Priest tribute band, when a video of him performing with them got into the hands of Priest drummer Scott Travis.

Look up 98 Meltdown. That version was the better Ripper on vocals version.
this band is incredible live with Tim or Rob singing.
You can see the pure joy in Ripper's face playing with his heroes.
I think The Ripper take this song to a whole new level.
Ripper the best

Tim surely deserves to sing in a top metal band. What an elementary party they made!
dorzsboss Metallica, for exemple?
Erm, Priest are a top metal band.
where did you spent the years after 2003?
Now Tim is in a band called KK’s priest!
RIPPER !BESTIE !
That dude so nailed the vocals
Mr. Owens, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!
tipton has always been the driving force of this band
💯💥💯💥
Great Band / Great Song / Great Álbum / Tim "Ripper" Owens 🎵🎼🎶🎤😎👊
I love Tim rippers Judas priest days, they were fuckin heavy dude

This is like JP covering Judas Priest and it is so tasty!
Makes you wanna bite the music😃

Plus Rob tunes down nowadays anyways so it's a moot point.
long live priest ,long live tim \m/

the ripper is a ver good rocksingert.

Ripper reminds me of Paul Dianno a wee bit.

From the Black Market 😂 (just joking).

@MrRocknRollsuicide Yeah maaaan thats right! ;)
@Kriaturametal But let's face it, Rob Halford is THE voice of Judas Priest.
Tim Owens is the best !!!!!! Nat
Would be real nice if both would sing together
Agreed!
i know its in london but what venue is it
LOLOLOLOL has anyone noticed that Ripper says, "Judas Priest heavy metal" after every song? It's hilarious, but Tim is the best.
ur 100% rite about ripper. but i think halford could give a little more. all he does is just walk around

Its me or Tim s manerisms are very similar to Robert´s? Even the way they hold the mic is the same.
That’s because he’s a diehard JP fan, that’s why!
Tim's high head voice stuff sounds like Rob, but his chest range sounds nothing like him.
Not sure he is trying to do impersonations.... Pretty sure he is his own voice.
@@billsfan788 That being said, he could do an incredible Ronnie James Dio impression.

Ripper aint bad at all.. :)
That isn't Rob Halford??
Nope, it’s Tim Owens, but still great and criminally underrated :)
2:53 wtf xD
Just like Iron Maiden with Blaze Bayley..
Daniel, a mí me parece que el destripador es mucho mejor que Bayley. Bayley en vivo daba lástima, Owens es un gran cantante en vivo.

love halford but ripper is way better live
agreed.
lol
Ripper left cuz Halford came back :S
Timing is off and Ripper...You JUST Ain't Robbie mate......
wolfbass46 yeah hes better
Ripper's stage presence leaves something to be desired, doesn't it? Seems a bit bored up there.
Ripper made me believe this song. His vocals are more suited for it than Rob's. Judas Priest was way better with Tim Owens.
Too fast.
is it me or does ripper look a little... bored?
LISTEN!!! When he starts singing, they start playing faster... WTF???
Man, you should listen to Metallica how fast do they play “Fuel” live!
