Finally, architecture comes out with something. I like it a lot. The other one was too big.

To be fair, a "repetitive" build should be expected from something with all four corners being symmetrical.
This Taj Mahal is also way better looking and way, way less expensive than the huge Creator original.
It's still 170$CAN though. worth the price I think.

I am currently building this set. It is repetitive, but I found the corner section builds to be interesting. I also like how dense it is. The internal frame structure is very strong. I completely agree with you on your general approach as this build is definitely not for everyone.
Super early review.
Picked up the big one yesterday. Finishend sorting out the pieces an hour ago. Almost 6000 is crazy.
Love both sets. If I can find the small one cheap I’ll definitely pick it up. Looks great and I honestly don’t mind about repetitive builds. The Eiffel Tower was the worst in that and even that wasn’t a problem. You don’t have to build it in 1 straight session.
I honestly think the new ones is better. It’s more tightly designed, smaller, smoother, and better for display.
Cannot compared to creator set, that one is the second bigger set in lego history
Repetition is the Name of the Game in the real world of Architecture - that is my experience after decades in the profession.
This is not only true for the Architect designing and documenting the building, but also for the Builder building it.
This Lego version of the Taj Mahal is a very scaled down and simplified version of what is involved in constructing a real building and that is exactly why I’m looking forward to build mine.

If you didn't enjoy this, I'd steer clear of the Empire State building as well..... If I never see another 1x2 slotted piece again it will be too soon 😂 😂 😂 😂

Unfortunately your big Taj Mahal is not real Lego is Chinese version if you got received from the plastic zipper I just realized and is cheaper, they usually don’t have instructions paper Iike real Iego know how to find out to see is Chinese version is the color not match each other there is add color
When you buy second hand you’re lucky if they are in zip lock bags.

Do you maybe have the exact height of the set to the top? From online shots of the box it said 20cm, but it also said 23x23cm, which is without the black base?
Because of the repetitiveness it's a much better experience when building with someone, speaking from experience.
UPDATE... This set is available now in the U.S. I just ordered it for immediate delivery.
Building lego is like assembling furniture except 1000000x worse
If this set is repetitive idk how i'll feel. Ive built the Colosseum 2 times and thats repetitive. I will see in 1-2 months

Downsized? It’s just a new set part of the architecture series. The size is perfect compared to the rest of those. The huge one is ugly honestly. Plus LEGO has come out with waaaaay bigger sets just this past year. Not downsizing at all. You seen the colosseum…???? That dwarfs the old garbage Taj Mahal set

I just finished Lego Taj Mahal (my 7th architecture set) and I absolutely love it! The amount of details and the grandeur (plus unique design vis-a-vis skyline architecture) of the construction is simply beautiful.
The sets I like least are Shanghai (I feel Lego did not do justice to the real Shanghai - the temple and the tall blue building
On the Shanghai set the Jin Mao Tower is missing
@@bjornroeven7343You are right. Especially after my first-time visit in Shanghai a few weeks ago, I must say that the Lego set on the Chinese financial city does not mirror well the actual Shanghai.
