I started collecting the Super 7 thundercats because I missed out on Classics motu and did not want to miss this. I am having more fun with Thundercats than MOTU lately
Just bought some figures from showz and used TH in the box for reviewer, watching your transformer reviews have made me fall back in love with the brand, well you and Bobby Skullface
I still maintain that they should have just done a 3.75in line or smaller even. Sort of bridge the gap between the LJN line & the mini PVC figurines. Playsets would be easier to scale correctly, the figures would prob be cheaper so kids can get the whole set easier, can carry them around easier etc.
Yep the clock it ticking but there is still plenty of time. The strange thing is when BBTS sells out everywhere else usually sells out almost instantly or bbts is ust the last to sell out
an, Super 7 is So expensive with things. I waited and bought many things on Sale like 50% off. So I have Thundercats set Other than Snarf or this until today.....375 on Amazon now. Ughhh. Was planning on waiting to see if it hit 300 bucks or less which is what it should be but did get it. And my most Stupid move of All in my collection is that Cat's Lair. But they Didn't make many of them because of the price/short ordering Window So might fair well in the future value wise?
I reluctantly canceled my order. For $500, I want a playable toy, not a figure-case. I recently spent $600 (tax and shipping incl.) on Blitzway Voltron. I can definitely convince myself that the Voltron is worth what I paid! Thundertank though....if it cannot even roll on the ground, this is not worth $500 and the space required to store/display it for me.
Yes you can get it to roll but you have to loosen up the wheels first. JayC got his to roll after messing with it for about a half an hour but the wheels are super tight at first
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Someone comments that if you force it to roll, it would damage the axles and the rubber. I am not sure whether this is true, since I don't own the Thundertank and I am no enginneer. Seems plausible though.....
I haven't seen any reviews.. i knew you would make one. Im impressed.. 500 is not change.. so wanted to wait to see if it was worth it.. it is beautiful.
This new Thundertank may take the same space as 4 vintage Thundercats, but that's not the same as saying that the new one is four times the size of the old one. Those are two different measurements :P New one seems to be a little over 2X the size. Thanks for the review!
Yep it is still a fun visual to see 4 vintage tanks next to this. Nothing will ever replace the charm of the vintage LJN either but this is really awesome
You made a real good point the ljn is going for 500 and better so why not get the super7 ultimates version, and thanks for putting the ljn figures in it that's wats going in mine! Good review 👍
The Ljn tank was always way undersized but had that vintage charm just not $500 worth of charm these days. Watching the show and handling this it all feels right now
I love your reviews and definitely appreciate your opinions, but I cannot agree on this. This Thundertank is the tip of the iceberg for toy companies fleecing their customers by simply making products that no one else will or that are absent from the market or that THEY only have the license for. In this way, they manufacture or simply monopolize "rarity" and therefore think they can charge whatever they feel like as almost a "privilege tax" for owning it. Super fans will tell all the naysayers we should be "thanking" these companies for making what WE want, but at what cost folks??? This is heinously overpriced and lacks value - there are hardly any paint apps or features to justify such a price. More Brian Flynn kool-aid and "nerd speak" to hook potential buyers. I'm happy for you that you like it and feel like you got a deal, but I don't think you can use the prior vintage prices of Thundertanks as any kind of justification. You let something go long enough, it'll be sure to gain value - that has zero bearing on the current market and production techniques/pricing. I totally get your perspective, but nobody needs 4 Thundertanks, they just need one. I see this vehicle as worth no more than $150-200, even in today's market. In 2017, the Justice League Batmobile was freaking RC, powered, actually smoked, launched missiles, had lights and sounds, used an app to drive it, and had the machine guns actually vibrate and let's not forget it had a CAMERA inside it! This cost $250 in 2017 - we are only 6 years later and Super7 is simply a trash company who have overcharged for every piece they have ever made and act like they are still the "small" toy company. Meanwhile, they are sold everywhere and at retail in Target, so what is it really Brian Flynn?
@@tydiriumhanger1320 Well, Amazon had it on sale and I got one. It's way bigger than it looks on video. And it mostly sits on my floor atm. I think it's a little to big, but it's roughly the correct scale. Maybe 2-5% bigger than it needed to be.
I have to say Amazon/company's know how to sell things. Said 1 left in stock at 375...bought (this has happened before), then the listing went to 14 Left. Funny. Old vids/Comments like yours Thinking this was going to be hard to get, High price....I NEVER thought so. I feel it will even go lower but in a Weak moment today...bought at 375,flby the "1" left scam/play. lol. Now the Cat's Lair has potential Holding Value power because of Limited sales/short Window of buying. But still was the most absurd purchase/impulse buy because of price. Hmm.
@@rupturefarms21 people here kiss Super 7’s ass even though they make bad products with poor quality control at ripoff prices . Look at their Andre the Giant or Conan. Terrible figures and they are over $60 each
i hope the color or plastic would not turn yellowish overtime- there should be a door at the back...the canon base takes a lot of space and should just be removable...and super7 should have incorporated magnet locks on the both the front canopy and the roof deck door- grest comparison with the vintage thunder tanks
Lyin Brian litterally said the turret/platform was going to be removable but scammed us all in the end. And he ruined the tank treads by making them too low.
Exactly, they look awful! I do believe there's an interview where Lying Brian said they would be individual tread links just like he said the turret platform would be removable but then turned around and scammed us all. 😒
You missed the biggest issue of all. The tank treads are waaaay too low and make the tank look completely awful and inaccurate. The tank treads are supposed to reach to the top of the tank like it does in the show, comics, vintage toys and etc but they only come like halfway up because super7 blows. They raised the back of the tank from the prototype to fit the figures but they never raised the treads height to match. Plus the turret gun/platform was supposed to be removable per their statement and advertisements but it doesn't unless you unscrew it. The tank is a disappointment especially for the price. 😒

Yes you can get it to roll but you have to loosen up the wheels first. JayC got his to roll after messing with it for about a half an hour but the wheels are super tight at first

That tank makes for a unique way to store your figures…lol. I may try to hunt for a credit card incentive to knock down the cost.
