Driver assistance systems
Even more comfort, poise and safety on long and short journeys - the new A6 with new and refined driver assistance systems sets new standards in the luxury class. These include the parking pilot and the garage pilot, which are set to extend the range of equipment during the course of the year: They autonomously maneuver the Sedan into and out of a parking space or garage. The driver can get out of the car before activating and monitoring the process using the myAudi app on their smartphone. To do so, the driver must continuously hold down the relevant function key.
The parking pilot and the garage pilot form part of the Park assist package, one of three packages. The City assist package includes features such as the new crossing assist. The Tour assist package comes with the adaptive cruise assist, which supplements the adaptive cruise control by means of gentle steering intervention to keep the vehicle in lane, and the efficiency assist, which promotes an economical driving style.
Behind the extensive assist systems lies a high-tech module from Audi: the central driver assistance controller (zFAS). It calculates continuously a detailed model of the environment from a fusion of sensor data. Depending on equipment, the sensor set includes up to five radar sensors, five cameras, twelve ultrasonic sensors as well as a laser scanner - another major innovation.
Mild-hybrid technology - all engines electrified
All engines in the new A6 come with Audi’s new mild-hybrid technology. Here a belt alternator starter (BAS) works together with a lithium-ion battery. The Audi A6 can coast between 55 and 160 km/h (34.2 and 99.4 mph).
The start-stop function kicks in up to 22 km/h (13.7 mph). The engine is restarted from standstill predictively as soon as the vehicle in front of the Audi A6 starts moving. During deceleration, the BAS recovers up to 12 kW of energy. In real-world driving, the MHEV technology reduces fuel consumption by up to 0.7 liters per 100 kilometers.
Body and dimensions - more legroom in the business class
The body of the new Audi A6 also adds to the relaxed atmosphere onboard. One factor is the advanced aerodynamics: With a minimum drag coefficient of 0.24 (with an engine to be released subsequently) and thanks to sophisticated aeroacoustics, the Sedan remains pleasantly quiet, even at high speed.
A second factor is the high body rigidity - it forms the basis for the top quality feel and the sporty handling. Audi uses an intelligent mixed construction of steel and aluminum in the body shell. Components such as the front suspension strut dome are made of aluminum, as are the doors, hood/trunk lids and fenders.
The interior of the new Audi A6 is even larger than on the outgoing model. With regard to legroom in the rear, it beats the outgoing model and the core competitors. The headroom and shoulder room in the front and rear are also superior to the outgoing model. The luggage compartment offers more loading width - two golf bags can be accommodated horizontally. The capacity remains unchanged at 530 liters (18.7 cu ft). The trunk lid can be opened electrically with a kicking motion.
The all-new seats underline the character of the Audi A6 as a poised long-distance sedan. With their numerous adjustment functions, the customized contour seats, front, optionally available with ventilation and massage, provide superb comfort. A good interior climate is likewise ensured: The optional air quality package improves the air with two subtle fragrances, an ionizer and an effective pollutant filter. With its large glass sections, the optional panoramic glass sunroof floods the interior with light. Additional convenience features include the windshield wipers with integrated washer jets and the optional heated windshield.

Audi so clever packed with all technology beast forever
I have a 2020 A6 Prestige with adaptive steering and individual massager seats.....love this car! The adaptive steering option makes the A6 drive and handle like size of an A4 and upgraded massager seats appoints the interior like an A8.....perfect combination and value. Had a Lexus LS460 (similar to A8 size) that I loved but was a bit too big for me but very reliable and mostly oil changes and tires as only cost. I hope the A6 will be as reliable.

@@raghuveer4552 it is definitely a goal to try for. I had a BMW 3 series and wanted to get a 5 series. Ended up going with Audi in 2013 when I got my first A6. One day I'll get an A8 lol if I can make enough money.

I actually think they have alot to offer against benz and bmw. Until the new A45 comes out imo the RS3 is the best car in that class , Rs4 and 5 are amazing imo even though they lack sound. The A6 and A7 are amazing and imo The A6 looks very very good and A7 has the PERFECT Coupe line. so RS6 and 7 will be amazing too. A8 is yeah meh . at least it has alot of tech. Idrc about SUVs but i think Audi can keep up with them aswell.

Audi V6 👍 compete strongly by high performance and beauty values 👌 , but the agents, especially in Saudi Arabia...!!!, , , need to support young men and women in marketing through maintenance and spare parts at a reasonable price... 👌... For me I prefer the dark colors outside and light brown inside to avoid dirt with the class TFSI capacity (4 cylinder) turbo 2.0 liters for those who are always used for inside the cities... 🤔

I've just bought one for Christmas, picked it up on the 30th 2018 within 4 weeks the adaptive Headlights stopped working grrr!! Apparently a software malfunction I was told! 😱 So basically I was sold a lovely car with a problem for which someone neglected to tell me when I paid my money 💷 over the counter wasn't going to work after a couple weeks grrrrr! 😱 😱 Email to Audi UK was duly sent I might add..

Sind sämtliche technischen Standards eines A6 45 TDI in englisch?? Ist der deutsche Markt nicht groß genug?? Ich bin deutscher und spreche nur deutsch, also brauche immer einen Dolmetscher!!! Das ist der einzige Mangel an diesem A6

Building complex systems on top of already complex system, a recipe for disaster and expensive repair. Have balls and call it level x Autonomous feature. Engineering a product that will require expensive services and parts is how car industry stay profitable. How about build a car with the least parts, requiring once a year maintenance, and keep the car fresh with over the air updates ( not just maps )

Audi A6 is getting way too big. I have been driving the 2014 yr model A6...but switching to C43 amg. German automakers should stop making cars that cater to the Chinese market. the design is getting worse every year.
