    Thanks for the content, as a newer, fisherman and being 100% completely blind, you’re very descriptive and I know what you’re talking about as you’re describing it and that’s greatly appreciated… Tight lines!

    Thanks for the great vid. I had the urge to do some pier fishing for salmon this year. Having no clue what i was doing with saltwater fishing this really helped. I hooked into two silvers my first trip out. One was 30+ inch, 12 lb. eyeball estimated. caught on a 3 inch green holo with pink skirt. Too bad i couldnt keep it. It was really funny within 30 mins just about eveyone around me had switched to buzzbombs. Im fishing a 4 to 8 lb 7 foot med light okuma sst with 20 lb braid and 15 lb leader on a pflueger supreme xt reel. Its the only fishing rod i have. makes for a good fight and a by product of the flexy rod keeps the hook set when the fish shakes its head and surges toward you.
    I am fishing at Dash Point and have seen mostly Silver salmon come out of the water. can you suggest a good fishing pier for king salmon fishing ?

    Awesome info!
    I'm very new to this. Only went once. Got set up w Rotator and matching skirt. From Outdoor Emporium. Had to work in Sequim so Got lucky at Point No Point last week. W 1 small silver.
    I have family visiting last week of Oct. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Gonna also try ur Fly Fishing tips as well.

      +bigmick812 I use the general rule of thumb for beach fishing, fishing the hour before and after high tide when possible. This usually means for the most movement of bait and fish. Each beach is a little different but this is a good rule to start with

    Do you have a video of how to tie up the setup and the hardware? Are you going main line to barrel swivel, then 1 foot leader through the buzz bomb tied to another barrel swivel, then a clasp hooked to the barrel swivel and hook?

    Very cool video, I live in the Tacoma area any leads on a decent safe spot for this type of fishing?? Would love to take my girls out during the upcoming season, no boat available .. Thanks

    • @HolyMolyOutdoors
      @HolyMolyOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Thanks man! The humpy season is definitely one to look forward to. Lots of fish and a great time to get the kids out and into the action. One of the draw backs, if any, would be the potential for crowded locations. I personally tend to avoid the high popularity beaches but find just as much success doing some exploring. The tacoma area should have a very healthy run this year with both the green and puyallup rivers being the home destination. I would recommend grabbing a map and seeing where some of the beaches are located near the rivers mouths. I am not all that familiar with the areas but I know there are some good opportunities. let me know if I can help with anything else.

      Live2fish4life Thank you for the heads up, going to try and do some research on a good Puget sound location, the river is a bit difficult for me to get down to, due to my disability, but shore or dock fishing is a bunch of fun, tight lines can't wait for your next video..

    Will the setup you're talking about work for chinook salmon? And have you caught any salmon off the Washington coast (Westport, Copalis beach..., etc)?

    • @HolyMolyOutdoors
      @HolyMolyOutdoors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes these setups will definitely catch a chinook. It would probably be a good idea to beef up the mainline if targeting chinook.
      Yes I have caught a few off the coast. Pretty far drive but I have made a couple trips. The jetties can be good

      I recently just moved from Canada and I used to do hardcore fishing there. I didn't bring my fishing gear with me and I live close to Overlake Transit center in King County. Can you please recommend what I can fish around here (I don't mind driving within an hour). I'm mostly a fan of big fish like Salmon, Trout, Ling etc. Is the fishing here good? What gear do you recommend I buy? Thanks!

    • @HolyMolyOutdoors
      @HolyMolyOutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      PathTo Entrepreneurship There are a lot of fishing opportunities in our state. During this time of the year the main target is winter steelhead. Most of our Northern rivers are closed due to low returns, but there are a few that will start picking up in february and march. Once we get to spring more of the opportunities open for seasonal and species.
      As for gear, are you going to be bank bound or boat?

    • @PathToEntrepreneurship

    • @HolyMolyOutdoors

    Have you found any North sound beaches decent for coho on the fly this time of year? I have tons of miyawaki poppers and clousers tied up for SRC fishing, and I’m hoping for some good top water coho fishing this year. I have always waited until September to hit whidbey beaches though.

    • @HolyMolyOutdoors
      @HolyMolyOutdoors  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brandon it's hard to say really depends where the fish are. Area 10 has coho right now so possibly some beaches with access to deep water for RIP currents. I am in the same boat, cannot wait for them this year. Definitely looking to get the fly rod out

      lockdowng223 You may find a few resident coho around. The pinks are just starting to show in the straights which puts them about 2-3 weeks before trickling into the sound. You never know till you get out on the water.

      JR Zarate I believe the maker of the rotator is a washington native on Whidbey island if I recall right. Not sure of his name.
      There will be lots of video of the 3rd person view this summer. I have some other ideas in the works too. It's going to be a great summer and fall to be on the water!
