Great commentary, by a legend in the game. Quick comment - Stafford was indeed hit a lot & dodging incoming defenders, but the difference is that he's able to beat rushes using his hot read options. McVay already knows our O-line - down 3 starters - needs help, so he designs these for Matt. Maybe Geno isn't seeing his hot reads, surely your coaches prepared for Verse / Fiske / Young to get lots of penetration? our (yes Rams fan here) ILB corps is suss, that TE slant across the middle should've been open all day for you all.

On pick 3, Jerrell gets shoved back where the TE in motion had to jump over his legs, then the TE got held and couldn't rotate towards the ball to be able to catch it and the ball went right by him, and Geno had a rusher right in his face. O line, O line, O line. Jerrell called for holding on a 38 yard completion. Williams gets the snap count wrong and launches it right by Geno(first one was on Geno). yup. go for it on 4th & 1. time and time again, play callers, coaches are trying to test the o-line and see if they rise to the challenge but they are not... yet. Gotta find some chemistry and create space, we cannot be one dimensional.
I finally see it clear….Geno he’s holding onto the ball too long. That’s simply it. It’s not the old line being weak. I’m looking at other teams and I can see that other quarterbacks released the ball way sooner if that’s offensive coordinating then that’s what it is overthink and that’s what it is, but he’s holding the ball for way too long!
😢 this is just SO SAD!!! He always blows it at the 1 yard line..... are we jinxed?? But not to be mean WE NEED A young and good QB. What the he'll is happening
The talent seems to be there for the most part. The D might need one more dog on the line, generally the D Line struggles to get consistent pressure. When they were able to get LA qb off his launch point in the pocket the D was able to make it hard on Rams offense. Need better consistent coverage of run lanes, though Rams didn't run over Seattle like most teams, still it needs to be better. All that being said, a better OL and Geno may not of had his 2nd and 3rd INT's. Although, Geno and Grubb need to devise better levels of pass patterns in particular a short outlet so Geno can get rid of ball better. I noticed Rams had that for their qb, Hawks would start to get pressure and Ram qb got it to a guy wide open that would be nearby. 7 sacks speaks volumes of the ineffectiveness of Hawks OL. Not sure I've seen worse OG's. The Center is somewhat forgivable given he hasn't had the benefit of being on team long enough and may have come back too soon from major injury. Teams 4 th string RT, need I say more than 4 th string and a raw rookie that would normally be a project on practice squad, though should be valuable experience for the young RT for his future. LT missed most of last season, so jury is still out on him but has shown enough promise. LG, here is an older - long in the tooth player who was pretty good 2 seasons ago, but nit last season. It was a stretch that he would suddenly be like he was 2 seasons ago given how long in the tooth of a player he is. OL has been Seahawks GM's failure since he's been here, team might want to consider other options as to who selects OL players for Seahawks. OL is the main problem I see with this team besides D might need a little seasoning with new coach as it is a new D philosophy/scheme. OL has run out of excuses for the OG's, at some point a change needs to be made there as neither OG is consistently good enough for this offense to reach the elite status that is possible.
That's twice this year he has been sacked seven times. I wish he would have taken an 8th instead of throwing a pick six. His arm was hit throwing the trajectory off. It looked almost identical to the touchdown he threw at the end of the half but they didn't get a hand on his arm that time. Time to tank for Travis Hunter?
If your sacked 7 times and hit 11 other times during the game you might throw an interception also. Same thing happened to Sam Howell last year playing behind a terrible O-line. I hope Sam doesn't have to play this year and get clobbered. I'm a Sam fan and also a zGeno fan. They deserve better!!
Except for the offense, defense, play calling, special teams and an owner that has never accomplished anything. The guy directing traffic in stadium lot E was very professional. So there’s that.
Why is Geno still playing? The big complaint against Howell was his TOs. Well, Howell is a year younger than Nix, and Geno is on pace to match his TOs from a year ago. Why not go with the young QB who has potential vs. the career backup who's mentally lost? Geno is not him. He never was. He's a liability at this point.
He’s a waste of cap space tbh. The holes that money could patch. I’d rather watch a young gunslinger go out and prove himself than an aging Gucci wearing diva who has no IQ after some many years in the league. Mahomes and Lamar seem to have done great adapting to bad o line and well they know when to throw the ball.
@ricardoedmondson5099 Hello, welcome to reality. In reality, Geno has guided Seattle to last place in the division and has 11 tds to 10 ints, 9 weeks into the season. He's 34 and wants more money. Geno IS THE PROBLEM! Unless the Seahawks want to become a poverty franchise, Geno has no place in their future.
@Gotcha12394 so dumping Geno and freeing up 24+ mil in cap space to go get a better OL won't improve the OL but keeping a soon to be 35 year old sub par QB will work out better for Seattles future? Is that what I'm to understand? Yes, everyone agrees Seattle needs a better OL. However, the OL doesn't hold responsibility to Geno's subpar play. The only way to improve the OL quickly is to dump Geno and take the savings at QB and apply it to the OL. Idk why this is even a debate when it's not even clear that Geno is a better QB than Howell to begin with.
With going for it, at that point I was like, "Whatever." I'm pretty much unenthused about Seattle at this point. When they didn't get it I was like, "Eh, shocker." Seattle is no longer an exciting team, and hasn't been since Russell Prime days, Lynch, and the LOB. Especially the call... just two straight runs jamming it up the middle... lol. And has Grubb forgotten that playaction still exists? You come out running the ball, then just right back to shotgun passes..
You don't play-action in that situation especially when your OL is getting beat like they were. Woulda been better served in shotgun with 3 WR's and RB and TE on either side of QB.
You cannot buy heart in athletes. And not a lot of the current Seahawks have a lot of heart like the players Sherm and his gang of players with him when they played
lol, not taking the points was 100% the right move lol. like what is that take?? so you go up three and the rams start their drive on the 30 instead of the 15 yard line and they score a td to win either way ...
Whose Gino? That a slight of disrespect? With this OL as it currently is it doesn't matter if you put Tom terrific out there. JSN had a pass bounce off him to a D player, qb gets hit while in throwing motion, D player holds back TE from getting to where he should be to get timing pass. But yeah somehow that's on Seahawks qb. Ok, sure.
This is what’s really irritating what do you guys expect. Geno at quarterback bottom ranked offensive line and a brand new coaching staff. The days of always compete are dead when your team is bad you want a good pick so you can get better. We as fans need to stop making it seem like this team is ready for a Super Bowl every year.
Some truth to what you say, but team is still within reach of 1st place. Seems unlikely at this point, but if Lucas can come back and actually perform reasonably well and team can at least get one viable OG, they could make some noise. Offense is currently one of the worst in all of the NFL. Not saying they could win SB this year but they could make more noise with a better OL.
Hawks just don't have that little extra inside each player like what they had when Sherm played. Most of these current Seahawks are collecting big paychecks nothing more
Football God: Would you like Derek Carr as your quarterback? Mike Mac: Not necessarily, God. He is not my type. Football God: Would you like Andy Dalton as your quarterback? Mike Mac: Nor really, God. He is not very good. Football God: Would you still like Geno Smith as your quarterback? Mike Mac: No. Not anymore, God. Football God: Then, would you like Joe Flacco or Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson as your quarterback? Mike Mac: Yes! Yes! Yes, God! Please! Football God: But since they are not available right now, I'll give you Sam Howell who can start immediately. Mike Mac: Oh, thank you, God. You are the best. You bless yourself.
So.....are we any better without Pete????......looking the same if not worse to me😲😌....make this same argument for Gino - don't see anything better - convince me I'm wrong..........
At the end of the day, the Seahawks were never good. They played a bunch of nobody’s. The Rams were the second team that they played that was actually good and has talent. This is everyone else’s fault for crowning the Seahawks as a playoff contending team with the new rookie head coach
Some truth to that, too many new inexperienced coaches learning on the fly. Remains to be seen if this coaching staff is worthy. Next 3 games will tell, team needs to finish last eight games with a 6 and 2 record.
@@ricardoedmondson5099After next week they will most likely take their second 3 game losing streak this season, while losing 6 of their last 7, and be 1-7 in their last 8 division games. This team is downright terrible.

Geno smith is absolutely trash 🗑️ him getting sacked is probably better than him throwing the ball 😂 what a Complete dumpster fire 🔥
Man the Seahawks should hire you
yup. go for it on 4th & 1. time and time again, play callers, coaches are trying to test the o-line and see if they rise to the challenge but they are not... yet. Gotta find some chemistry and create space, we cannot be one dimensional.
Team missed golden opportunity on 4th and 1, there was an opening / gap that they missed. Pretty fundamental
It's Geno!!!!!!!! What do you expect????? The real Geno that we know is back!!!!
He’s really writing back now 😂
Give the man an OL worthy of being called professional, might be different
You obviously don't watch or have ever played football hahahaha
@@6661Daly But he sent it to the wrong address (team) 😂
@ 🤣🤣🤣
I finally see it clear….Geno he’s holding onto the ball too long. That’s simply it. It’s not the old line being weak. I’m looking at other teams and I can see that other quarterbacks released the ball way sooner if that’s offensive coordinating then that’s what it is overthink and that’s what it is, but he’s holding the ball for way too long!
Never call receiver pushing off except George Kittle in the SB!! 😢
😢 this is just SO SAD!!! He always blows it at the 1 yard line..... are we jinxed?? But not to be mean WE NEED A young and good QB. What the he'll is happening
Ryan Grubb got exposed by Michigan his play calling sucks!
We wouldn’t have even went into OT if we didn’t miss the PAT
The Rams had a chance to end this game in regulation during the Seahawks last possession Williams dropped a gift wrapped interception 😆
The general manager has nickel dime’d the O line for 10 years . Fire him .
Who's got my back!!
Our season is over, just like last year except we might not even get 9 wins this time.
I disagree with Sherman...kick the field goal, and pin them back on the kick-off. Just my humble opinion.
At least your team is not the Cowgirlz.😂😂😂😂😂
😊 Sherm
100% RTS play call was wrong very wrong
Seahawks Oline can be replaced with traffic cones
This O-line is going to get Geno seriously injured -7 sacks, you've got to be kidding.
@@laurietongish7941 After all that, you mentioned Travis Hunter who will do absolutely nothing for that O-line 😂
@@Jason-lk9yi You have a good point but defense wins Superbowls.
Geno isn't the issue, the OL is a way bigger problem.
@@tommyjames2448it doesn’t matter who is behind our line right now the results will be the same, oline is just so terrible
Need to draft two interior lineman. Maybe trade DK for more capital, get a quality long term MLB if it's not Jones.
No changes this year, but next year, need different QB.
Geno is Jim Zorn reincarnated. INTs r out of control
We are painfully inconsistent and mediocre lol
Take an idea from the Browns D against Lamar. Blitz Blitz Blitz.
You cannot buy heart in athletes. And not a lot of the current Seahawks have a lot of heart like the players Sherm and his gang of players with him when they played
I think it's smarts some of players are lacking as much as heart
Can the Seahawks oline win games down the Stretch? 😮
lol, not taking the points was 100% the right move lol. like what is that take?? so you go up three and the rams start their drive on the 30 instead of the 15 yard line and they score a td to win either way ...
It's not all Geno es fault. Center , coach , look bedside Rams are better than even that game . No puca. Have a luck E Day
Give Sam Howell a try. His strong arm would be amazing with the wide receivers.
Last season Sam was the most sacked qb in NFL. You think that would change with this OL?
Give the other QB a shot. If not for anymore than giving a wake up call to Gino
Ok, sure.
Geno is holding the ball too long and needs to take the check down quicker with a DIV3 RT that shouldn't be starting in the NFL YET...SMH
Coaching is embarrassing. The offense is getting way too cute. Need a big change at either the offense playcaller side or at QB.
For what tho.. what is the point of taking first just to pretty much guaranteed lose in the wildcard and be picking in the teens
WAIT A MINUTE. The corner was holding his arm
That O line sucks 😂 tf is that
Hawks just don't have that little extra inside each player like what they had when Sherm played. Most of these current Seahawks are collecting big paychecks nothing more
Some truth to that, but I think more involved than that.
Yes better call plays
I'm tired of watching Riq Woolen getting schooled. So many problems.
Sherman, my favorite player Chief!!! Love the show
Richard yallcouldnt even get 1 yard in the superbowl stop the cap my brother
Eric Bienemy doesn't have a job right now...just saying.
The Seahawks did not play well enough to win. The Seahawks were not coached well enough to win. The Seahawks have not been staffed well enough to win.
Pushoff where😂😂rams up
At the end of the day, the Seahawks were never good.
Gino sucks
LMAO, come on Sherman stop making excuses, you’re showing that you’re a homer, Robinson didn’t push off he beat Woolen like a drum and he had to slow down for the pass and Woolen ran close to him and made contact but no penalty on either player 😂
Let’s trust our trash OLine on 4th and 1 and not get creative at all!
That situation should have finally convinced coaches and GM that changes need to be made on OL. To continue trotting out the same OG's is the height of insanity.
It was a glorious day. GO RAMS!
