I also appreciate until the end they don’t sugar coat the fact that nature is as cruel as it is beautiful. Dreamwork’s anti-Disney technique has been working lately.
Agreed. I hate the Disney-take that nature is peaceful and harmonious, and only men are capable of savagery. This movie gets it right by showing the men's world as less violent, but more artificial.
This is the kind of movie where you come out of the cinema feeling so disoriented and disconnected from reality in the best way possible. I remember walking out in kind of a daze from how good it was and how invested i was while watching it
@MorganReacts something that I saw pointed out in other reactions is that @24:18 when Bright Bill said "You're not my mom", Roz's lights flashed red. Normally her lights only go red to signal damage to her body. But this was an emotional damage/pain response.
And the Alpha-113 processor (Roz’s main processor model type number) is a hidden reference to A113! A deep animation lore Easter egg based on a room number for Animation school and its greats in the making. also was the name of the protocol for Auto in Wall-E.
@@agusnicoletti3051 that what I used to think. But nope. A113 has made appearances in a lot of animated media. Like in an episode of South Park, it was on the side of a helicopter.
God this movie made me cry so hard. I read the book in elementary school and I’ve always held it in my heart. Seeing it as a movie just sent me back. Thank you DreamWorks and thank you Morgan for reacting to it. Ur definitely tied for 1st place in regards to favorite reactors. Have a great day ❤️
Every individual branch, leaf and root attached to “The Wild Robot”, like any well-risen tree, is given ample time, space and care to grow freely and before long, each tenderly received nutrient allows it to blossom and flourish into both a mediation of motherhood and another sobering win for DreamWorks. Everything I hoped this would be, it delivered.
And Roz is the only thing that looks like traditional CGI animation while the island and its animal inhabitants have been CG drawn to look like they were painted with brushstrokes and brush techniques.
the living being-robot trope makes me BAWL MY EYES OUT, i can't take it anymore 😭😭😭 it's one of the best tropes, i even plan one writing another book deticated to it
This is the very first DreamWorks movie that made me cry. It is a beautiful and cinematic tearjerker. Lupita Nyong'o did a fantastic performance as Roz, as well as Kit Connor as Brightbill. The fact that this is the 2nd highest rated DreamWorks film in Rotten Tomatoes with 98% and the 3rd highest rated in Metacritic with 85/100 shows how the crew did a wonderful job in creating an emotionally impactful film.
It's honestly heartbreaking when you realize that the only reason why fink ran away during that one scene, was because when roz is asking about how do you know if you love something. He was thinking that she was talking about him, but when he realizes it's brightbill. He thinks that she doesn't care or love him so he saw no point in sticking around, which I think she does. She just hadn't realized or thought about it because her mind was on brightbill.
@MarianneYsabelleAlfante I think you could see them as parental figures, father mother, which would make it more of a romantic relationship, but making it physical would be a bit weird considering it is a robot and an animal
@@MarianneYsabelleAlfante Rlly curious but why do you ship them? At most it sometimes felt like divorced parents, but I never felt like there was a romantic connection between the two. Fink wanted a friend and constantly talked about how much his mother hated him, and roz was his first and best friend who was also very motherly-like, so it felt like he was attached to that side of her because she was the closest thing to motherly love he ever experienced.
Congratulations Morgan!!! You survived the editing process!!! Round of applause for you and I hope you can get some sleep now lol. This movie...I don't cry easily (I wish I did because I need that catharsis lol) but I have cried every single time I watched it. Its so beautiful, and moreover, it is incredibly powerful in this day and age. Humanity is functioning right now like the island at the beginning--selfish and out to get each other. And that is literally destroying the world. "Kindness is a survival skill" is *exactly* what everybody on the planet needs to hear right now because kindness is truly how we survive!!!! This is even more true given recent events in the US... but yeah the thematic potency of this movie gets me every time. I'm so glad you enjoyed it
The butterfly scene always gets me because it's literally just the animators showing off, it serves no purpose (I mean, it is a parallel to the geese flying off around Roz, but other than that I don't think there's any purpose). Which like, mood, iirc DW is ceasing in house animation
What a surprise! Excellent reaction as always! Now you should react to Transformers ONE! It released alongside Wild Robot and is just as amazing! Unfortunately, it didn't get the box office it deserved but hopefully the positive word of mouth and extra earnings from digital sales and merch will ensure a sequel, because it deserves it!
Most defintely my favourite animated movie for this year, inside out 2 follows after that. I got so emotional! Kit Connor loves making us all bawl our eyes out! Also the cast are amazing as well as the animation and the story!
As a person who almost died at birth, the quote "Brightbill was never supposed to get this far" from Longneck hits deeper than I thought it would. This and the geese bullying Brightbill were so relatable. He also had physical struggles and needed to train and put more effort in things other people - or in this case geese - do naturally (for him it is flying, for me walking). Everytime there is a book or movie with a "runt" character I can't help, but feel instantly immersed and root for them with all my heart ❤
I legitimately was sobbing in the theater watching this I was watching it in 3D so I kept having to wipe the glasses off of remove them to wipe my eyes

It is not like I can blame you, though: Wild Robot is *one of the greatest* Dreamworks movies ever. Maybe even greater than Shrek. I wish there were more movies like that but alas, something tells me we are not going to get as emotional as now that much in the future... P. S. Since you are present to Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus, I think it also would not hurt to check out *Meta Runner* - another series from GLITCH which has finished years ago. The animation is not as good as we would like it to be... But the story is great and the characters are lovely. I think you would like to give it a shot
I love this film as a whole but I think the thing I love most is that way that roz's voice slowly becomes more human (or animal depending on how you wanna look at it) as the film goes on makes my heart melt❤😢❤😢❤

LOVE this movie so much. Definitely one of Dreamworks' best movies!!! Robots really have the biggest heart of all (Iron Giant, Wall E, Baymax, now Roz)
Amazing reaction as per always. Brightbill reminds me of the kids from Bluey, an Australian show about the day to day life about a family of dogs featuring the best animated parents of all time. It’s basically free 7 minute therapy sessions. :)
Morgan that wasn't an owl that trained Brightbill, that was a Peregrine Falcon, one of the fastest birds in the world (clocking a 240mph diving speed), showing Roz knew exactly who to choose to help train him
Fun fact: Porcupine quills possess antibiotic properties. The antibiotic activity is associated with free fatty acids (but not neutral lipids) coating the quills. So even if you get jabbed by one, while it will be painful and an S.O.B to remove you won't have to worry about the wound(s) getting infected.
This is definitely the greatest animated film of the year for me and definitely one of the greatest films of this year of all time in general it was definitely very emotional and it had one of the most stellar casts I’ve ever seen in a animated film and Chris Sanders, who directed this is still going strong to this day and he should direct more of DreamWorks future films and what’s crazy is when I saw this in the cinema I heard a few people clapping at the end of it, and I had to join a long.
Ngl I went into the cinema purely for kit Connor but along the way forgot he was voice acting in it. lol. I came out loving the story, soundtrack, and animation of the movie. Probably one of my top ten movies of all time, and definitely one of my top three favourite dreamworks films.

This movie is emotionally manipulative, yes, but in a way that's genuinely works. I adore it this film. It kind of reminds me of Lilo and Stitch or The Land Before Time. It's an animated kid's film, but with real-world consequences for us gross adults. It's not afraid to say that life is a blessing, to be sure, but also that death is an inevitable aspect of life. Again, speaking of, I haven't been so heartbroken since losing Littlefoot's mother....

The movie isn't afraid to show how nature could be beautiful and dangerous at the same time, especially death
Love how they made this movie realistic.

Yes! The Mother just moving on when one of her Kids died, it just is Nature.
