The announcers in this world finals were incredible. The call at 1:17 when Dennis flips is the best ever.

Mike Hogewood is the GOAT. Scott Douglas and Mike Hogewood were the best duo in motorsports commentary. RIP to a legend.
I say this same thing to anyone who will listen. Mike and Scott were the best. Theres a run by Meents in 2002 with Team Meents in Atlanta and Tom runs into the safety barrier and the Commentary is great there too.

He left too much time on the clock. You can't win that way. He was one point short, so if he filled the time or even did one more jump, he would've won.

This is one one Dennis’ finest performances ever. Those combos and that flow were a decade ahead of their time. If he finished this run, he would’ve got the chip no question. Also, no Mike, I cannot believe 1:20 that

Dennis's run was good but tom run was better because 1. he filled the time 2. he hit obstacles in ways they were not meant to be hit and 3. had momentum equally as good as Dennis's
@@lazarusfernandez1989 Replying 3 years later, classic. I think the defining moment in Tom's win over Dennis was that he hit the center obstacle in the same way that Lyle Hancock (Blue Thunder) hit it. It flipped Lyle over but Tom made it over.
I think if he filled the clock he would’ve, that save was amazing.

Should've won the title that year. It was all set up for tom to win. He had a better run
Neither did Tom. He was shut off for about 20-30 seconds.
+HM2016 Productions yeah I think it was set up to screw Dennis over, cause look at 2007 Dennis lost in his 25th anniversary freestyle by 4 points over Pablo. Here's another example 2013 when tom won he didn't fill the clock the bonus but yet scored a 34 Pablo only had 2 seconds left in bonus and he scored a 30 tom got a 32 regulation 2 bonus, Pablo got a 29 regulation 1 bonus. Pablo should've brought blue thunder there first title in 2013 that's just my opinion though and Dennis had better moments in this run than Tom.
Gio Trapani Dennis definitely got screwed that year... he left the same amount of time on the clock that the time Tom was shut off in his run. and Dennis had the better run with 2 saves and one being a epic save. That year should of been dennis's year
I have said this before this run was good but tom's was more unique and creative he was hitting obstacles differently from the other drivers filled the clock was momentum equally as good as dennis's

This run did not fill the clock but it did have wow factors including the 2 saves and the one wheel wheelie. if he had filled the clock it would have won but unfortunately he did not.
I agree because it would have been great for Dennis Anderson to win another Monster Jam World Finals freestyle championship in honor of Grave Digger's 20th anniversary.
Who knew that a few years later in that same arena grave diggers team would be celebrating 30 years
I don't know, but when I was at Monster Jam World Finals 13 a decade ago, the Grave Digger 30th Anniversary encore was thrilling!
i think what really costed Dennis the win was the roll over at the end. considering he had the better run, he did not fill the clock, Tom did.
gee, it sure would be nice to see the entire wrold finals videos that used to be on youtube instead of the official monster jam cut down clips
Prior to 2017, you were able to find complete videos of shows (including the world finals) on TH-cam. However, afterwards, Feld Entertainment scrubbed the platform of said videos to make way for their Monster Jam TH-cam Channel.
What’s sad is that a lot of those videos that Feld Entertainment took down were lost media.

Why Dennis not win there epic freestyle?
First rule of freestyle is to fill the clock, Dennis failed to do that and it certainly cost him the World Title, Tom Meents filled his time which is why he got the better score and the win

The same could be said for 2001. If Dennis had waited to hit Tom’s truck at the end of his run instead of the middle, he would have won that year.
