Glad you got to a resolution. The whole time I’m flailing my arms in the air suggesting that belt was too short. Bahahah. On old cats you can shift ending FWD and AFT to kind of custom adjust for a belt issue like this.. congrats. Hope you get some snow soon.
@@twocylinderwill they must have put some thought into that to get the clutch alignment right. I worked on a few of those back in the day...but certainly don't remember the specifics! I was a snowmobile service tech for 42 yrs....so I worked on about everything back when there were over 100 snowmobile manufacturers. I think there were 40-50 different ones judt here in Minnesota! Good you figured it out! I've run into that belt issue before...especially with a '73 Brut 340 I had! NO ONE made the proper belt for that sled!

Your center to center clutch distance needd to be adjusted!
On a liquifire that’s not adjustable. The engine is mounted into the frame rail of the belly pan

There is no traditional mounting plate. It’s basically held up by the sides of the engine with brackets, rather than sitting on a plate.

Another way to fix the issue is to shim the 102 to the original belt width.
