for someone wanting Pioneer hardware running Rekordbox in standalone or controller mode, the Pioneer XDJ-700 with its good set of features, detailed touchscreen and overall compact size, this model is great value for money. Thanks again for the video Mojaxx.

I love my xdj700s! I mean, sure, they don't have every single thing that the regular size does, but they're sufficient. I love them because they're a great price considering how much quality CDJs usually are. I wanted to switch from controller to CDJs because I was ready to take that next step, and these definitely did the trick.

Those external power supply, most of them, will make your pro audio amp humming - and you will also get static noise on primary channel - if they are plugged in an outlet that is on the same electrical line. Be aware of this!

When I press Memory after I set a cue point, it flashes 'Memory' in red, with a USB logo - but when I return to the track later, the cur point is not there.
Do you have to return the USB to the computer to actually WRITE the cue points to memory in Rekordbox? Or am I doing something wrong?

Price point and compact size a pair of XDJ700 media players are good value or you could buy one Denon SC5000 or SC5000M for less money and it does more but is full sized. If you want to jump back and forth between Rekordbox and Serato, the Roland DJ707M and a pair of Pioneer XDJ700 would be an awesome small setup. Large setup a pair of Pioneer XDJ1000Mk2 and DJS1000 on one side and Denon SC5000 on the other side with a Denon or Reloop RP8000Mk2 turntable or Rane Twelve with the Denon X1800 as the mixer but that probably makes no sense, lol.

Hi, I have a problem with the sound in my Xone DB2 and 2x XDJ 700 set. The set can play really great, then I hear every detail, the bass is clear and I mix tracks without any problems. From time to time a problem occurs and the sound ceases to be so clear, then it is difficult to distinguish the bands by ear and mix the tracks well. I suspected a mixer, but it just came back from the service inspection and it's fine. Monitors are ok too because I've tried different ones. Is it possible for the xdj 700 to have such moods?

Hi, i'm just about to purchase some pioneer xdj700's. I've been hearing that serato dj will not work with these decks which has confused me. Surely if I use my rane sl2, I will be able to dj using these decks with the time code on a usb? Can you confirm this for me please?

Good work as ever Chris honest and to the point.
Loved the look and portability factor of these when I first saw them. Decent sized screen on them and link thought they looked like a bargain. The HID is rather disappointing, pioneer obviously will be in no rush to support Traktor and Serato given the release of Rekordbox. There is a hole in the market for some jog controllers for the new NI's S8 and S5 and decent ones with HID and usb backup would suit many. Makes the XDJ-100's look even more like a bargain.
Missing beatjump :( I guess they had to cut back somewhere. Crazy when you think it has been in Traktor since almost forever and so useful for navigation at times.
The XDJ-RX I think is quite suitable for mobile jocks wanting a non laptop solution. A bit bulky, but still looks the biz and does what it says on the tin. If they ever bring out a 4 channels version it will sell like hot cakes, but then again that would hit sales of top end CDJ's which is probably why we have not seen it yet.

Looking at a pair of these as I'm fed up of the CDJ 400s firmware not liking / working with large sized USB /solid state drives. I want the 0.02% pitch resolution ☑️
The usual pioneer work flow is a bonus but not a problem as I can adjust. I just want to be able to connect 1 large solid state drive to 1 deck & have it link to the other so both have access to all media. That's it. I do use the reverse function as effect, I see that's ommited from the 700 for only the 1000 models. But it's only occasionally & not a necessity. I do think a cd is needed for a live situation as certain different event types a christening or wedding etc people can bring something specific to play there & then (CDJ 2/3000). Not everyone buying is catering for club /edm. But, for your personal mixing & EDM it's largely MP3 or other extension type these days.

Not sure if you’ve bought them yet, recently got a pair myself to replace some cheap Geminis and the 700’s are brilliant so far.

    • @ashleymcgovern5120
      @ashleymcgovern5120 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@DarkSean the 700s were lacking the 'rev' button & a few things I use so, I added 2 cheap (not cheap but compared to top of the line Pioneer decks suppose they are) Gemini MDJ 900s myself for midi hid & a Pioneer DDJ FLX 6 for Rekordbox & Traktor Pro3. I was going for an DDJ 1000 but there's none new in the country till around November. I kept the CDJ 400s because they can also be used with Rekordbox. I could use 4 real-time decks without switching the button on the FLX 6 In conjunction with CDJ 400. & With the MDJ 900 in Traktor Pro3. Maybe I'll see later wether I go DDJ 1000 or XDJ 1000. Problem was the 700s while great & having a great new gen style screen, had a few things missing the CDJ 400 has had for over 10 years & plugging it into Rekordbox the modern screen style is all there on the monitor. I haven't had any issues with the Geminis & 6.10 firmware in standalone mode, they're not really scratching decks though but, for mixing fine. Only had issue with a USB 3.0 drive wanting to go back to the root folder all the time. But USB 2 drives fine.

I've been watching your video for some time and enjoy how you thoughly review a product. I saw these used at an event and was impressed. I have an entry level controller but I seeking to up my game so I can easy play out. I've played with Nexus CDJs and XDJ 1000. Great system but too much 4 a wallet at this time. I was looking at DDJ 1000 controller and now researching these CDJs. I love the fact they use USB flash drive only. It will allow my to hone in my skills as a DJ and make a transition playing the club standard equipment. I will continue looking at both and come to a decision on which one fits me.

    • @timwood8728

      Totally disagree
The Sx was pretty poor build quality and many people had issues with platters.
Not everyone wants a controller and to be relying on a laptop. The xdj series is amazing quality and value
The 1000's really give the 2000 nxs a run for their money.
Plus it gives you a feel for that all important club standard gear.
So glad I watched the review on the xdj1000's by Mojaxx and I purchased a pair of those instead of the SZ. And the djm 850 is brilliant as well.

CDJ350 is only about 80 quid cheaper than 700. Unless you're using CDs, I can not think of a single reason why you shouldn't get the 700 instead of the 350. The 700 has slip, all of the performance features, rekordbox support, searching, waveform view... infinitely better than the 350s.

Joshua William depends what you are connecting, as a minimum you will need 2x RCA and a USB cable, they do a kit which comes with the ones needed but it only comes with the green/white cables. The orange ones are class A and cost roughly £60 per wire, I’m not sure if they do Ethernet cables as well for the pro dj link between xdj’s.
Iv added a link to the Oyaide kit 👍.

Really? You learn how to beat match with your ears. I can't believe you would ask such a retarded question.

What he said is positive if that is a serious question you need to learn how to actually dj and use your ears

why will you get a controller what is using a computer
I mean if you want to be a real dj you really have to look for a set and not a controller
a controller dj doesn't have to work to his performance and don't have to beatmix just push sync
    that is my opinion

FordSierraIS they are fine when beat matching by ear. sync isn’t really working on them, especially when you have loops going.

Just curious if drifting is an isolated issue or if the XDJ 1000 Mk2 is immune to this? I am a vinyl dj looking to make the leap into digital!
