Des you have no idea how much your videos help - I’ve foolishly agreed to fish a 3 match long weekend on a commercial complex having not fished anything other than a club knock up some 18yrs ago. The amount I’ve learned from your videos on float, feeder and pole is priceless. Thanks for what you’ve done and hope there’s so much more still to come.
@@Sandz_ - insanely stressful, confronted by swims full of very clever carp and not having all the skills I needed. Have fished another 3 day there this year and begun fishing club matches on commercials to develop the skills and it’s going well. By the time I’m 80 Des may have a fight on his hands agains5 me 😉😂. Time to concentrate on big perch now it’s going colder though.
This method brought back memories going back to the early eighty's when we fished the Waggler on the bottom all of the time mainly for Bream, Tench and the occasional Carp. Using the Avon Rods and the original Preston Carbon Active 12'6" Wagglers and the Normark Titan 2000 13ft Waggler which I have still got.. Great video Des . Thanks.
Thanks Des, after a forty year romance with fly fishing I have come back to my first love of coarse angling. My goodness, how things have changed though ! I love your style of presentation and your amazing knowledge of the sport. My biggest carp ever, was a Crucian of twelve ounces. The thought of a three pound common carp would have fulfilled my wildest dreams, back in the day. Thanks again Des, your brilliant video's have helped me to reacquaint with my first love ✌❤ Bob.
I Made many Wagglers in the Late 60s & 70s for Fishing the Upper Thames . Where we Held Open Matches known as CALPAC. & Keennets Swindon Talisman. VIC Stevens when fitter held many more Between Rushey Weir and Tenfoot. My Wagglers were Crafted from Airline tubing and a good gas flame gun many were weighted.internally with the ends of brazing stick..very effective .most were Stolen along with all my Tackle.
Another cracking vlog from the master! I wonder if there is a craft that Des doesn’t know like the back of his hand! Loved this one, really awesome tips and amazing to see the main man at work! Now come on Des, get on them fisho mania qualifiers!!! 😊
Can I use a carp waggler for regular float fishing for smaller fish as well as potentially carp ? I’m brand new and fish on a lake that has a bit of everything
Great video, just a quick question if its 5Ib mainline and a 0.15 hooklength, isn't the hooklength 5Ib-12? If so wouldn't the mainline break not the hooklength? Sorry if this is a silly question.
Genuine question. Why do you use 2 rods ? Could you not just mark the depth on the waggler rod then use that to fish like the pellet wag ?? Thanks great vid.
The shorter 11ft rod is more suited to fishing with the pellet waggler. You could certainly use the 12ft for both methods, however the 11ft would be too short for fishing on the bottom.
Great video! Can I ask question regarding waggler. Can you fish waggler with pellet band and 6mm pellet and also can you fish waggler with luncheon meat directly on hook? Ideally for carp and F1s. I know probably pole be better method and pellet waggler also but my son who’s 12 has just started so we’ve not got pole and someone has told us pellet waggler no good at this time of the year! Any help much appreciated please! 🙏
@@UKprestoninnovations Thanks for the reply! As a newbie I wasn’t sure. Was ideally going for carp so assume I wouldn’t need to fish that far out on a commercial!?
It depends on the venue, but at the most i'd imagine 20m would be the maximum you'd need to cast. Most venues it will be a lot shorter. If you're staying on into the afternoon, 4-5m straight in front or down the margins can be a great area to target carp!
Had some great sessions on the two pegs opposite the one Des is fishing. Pellet waggler and bomb and pellet. A great fishery that even delivers your bacon buttie to your peg.
@@UKprestoninnovations Thanks. Can I ask wholeheartedly process then please as a newbie? Don’t cast out then dip tio under the water and reel in a touch then flick tip after before lifting out? Thanks again
Cast out, feather the float down as it hits the water keeping a tight line. Sink the tip of the rod. 2-3 sharp turns of the reel, flick the tip out of the water. This should sink the majority if not all of the line.
Underestimated? How sad fishing has gone; match fishing for carp. Sad. Sad. Sad. 13 foot carp rods. Pellets. 5lb line. Waggler kit. How things have changed. Still fishing but carp?

There's plenty more planned!
@karlrichards4125 How did your 3-match long weekend go? I know it's been over a year...but I'm strangely curious about the results!

That yellow topped waggler sticks out like a new shilling up a chimney sweeps arse!!! Great vid keep em coming fella
Very pretty and calm video. This is how fishing should be!
Another class video from Mr Shipp and Preston Innovations team 🌟

Glad to hear you're finding your love for coarse fishing again :)
Great video, and what a venue always have a great days fishing there
Great Session Des and the Lake is Brilliant for the Waggler
It's a fantastic venue!

Love it. Old school carp fishing like docklow years ago with meat and corn🙂

He's got plenty booked in🤞🏻
Great video, thank Des, learned loads here 👍
Really enjoyed the video. How far are you casting the Waggler? I'm never sure how far I should be able to cast a 4oz Waggler?
You’re a better man than me losing that fish at the net. I’d have been down to my boxers, straight in after it 😂
video rất hay và tuyệt vời . Câu cá diếc rất thú vị . chúc anh một ngày may mắn ❤
Well done 👍 des god bless you I have that real you were talking about just got it new thank you 😊

Just a question Des .. for the waggler do u use barbed or barbless hooks ..regards Peter

Yes the hooklnegth would be heavier. However, as the mainline has a lot more stretch, the hooklnegth would always break first.
Thanks for the reply much appreciated 👍🏻
Very good video there Preston, and well presented Des, I will be doing that tomorrow in my video, Thank you
Great video. Do you use a swivel on the hook link to stop line twist?
No, he just uses loop to loop

Hi Alan, you can pretty much use any bait on a normal style waggler. It just depends on how far you are casting :)

Really good footage that des what net handle are you using mate
Response XS 4m :)
When will be a live match posted with des?
There's already some on the channel :)

You forgot to mention how good the breakfast are one of the best in the midlands
It's a sensational cafe
When do you use float max line vs sink line?
Float Max for float fishing, Sinking Feeder Mono for Feeder/bomb fishing :)
@@UKprestoninnovations thank you
Yellow floats I've got loads
How do you sink your line and why do you flick the tip please?
Flicking the tip under the water helps sink the line
@@UKprestoninnovations Thanks. Can I ask wholeheartedly process then please as a newbie? Don’t cast out then dip tio under the water and reel in a touch then flick tip after before lifting out? Thanks again

Do you have problems with line twist ?
No, you don't suffer line twist with Centris reels :)
@@UKprestoninnovations only the centris reels, or also the magnitude reels ?
Des you feed pellets only?
When targeting carp with this method, yes.
Anyone else see the kingfisher on the first cast! SM
Trying to get hold of yellow floats is absolutely ridiculous
This fellas accent grates on me
Shut up
