GregJoseph1978 yup.thats why I don’t blame that Sharon confronted Nick at the alter about him and Phyllis. Everything leads back to this moment.
It really did.
One of the most memorable scenes on Y&R ever, still makes me cry. Sad what happened to Nick and Sharon after this. She was never the same. And slimy Phyllis took advantage.

One of the saddest episodes ever seen. Nick and Sharon watching their child die. It must have brought tears to most people's eyes. Years later it was learned that Cassie had a twin sister Mariah, whom sadly she never got to see.
Troy then bring Camryn Grimes a great actress to play the part of a lesbian is absolutely nauseating 🤮 I had STOP watching Y&R My daughter and a friend of mine keeps me updated.I was absolutely tickle pink when the character of Sally Spectra jumped on board on Y & R Take Care May 27th 2023

As Sharon laid herself across Cassie and Nick took her hand I knew it would break them forever... they were grieving in the same room but separately💔 there was no embrace between them. Just pain, grief & sorrow. Goddamn it

Sadly the writers decided to break Sharon Nick up after this, instead of writing about how a couple could come together in their time of grief over their child. Then to make matters worse create an affair where Phyllis takes advantage of the situation by instigating this affair with Nick.
But I was riveted to the television everyday as all of this unfolded.It was one of the best seasons of Y&R ever. And the chemistry between Nick and Phyllis was simply off the chain.

ReneeDeborah, I’m sorry, I just can’t agree. I can’t see Nick and Phyllis even to this day without thinking of this moment.
Phick is disgusting to me for this sole reason. It doesn’t help that she looks like his auntie but I could of gotten over that if they wouldn’t of had a full blown affair right after the death of Nick’s daughter. 🤢

I must admit I agree. I used to love this daytime drama, but it’s changed so much . Breaking up a couple over the course of losing a child, that’s just awful . Phyllis was just the worst way to go . Why did they choose to bring her into this ?
I admit that I saw this scene during my senior year of high school because I was done my senior internship for the day. Not into soap operas, but this was the saddest and most emotional scene in daytime television history. I almost broke down in tears watching it myself. My mom used to watch “Y&R” when I was very little though.

I loved Cassie, don't watch now, but her acting as a little girl was FAB- no wonder she got that Emmy! This was so sad and well done xx
Even though, it was discovered that Cassie has a twin sister named Mariah? Played also by Camryn Grimes? Mariah is very different from Cassie but the viewers love her too which shows her acting is brilliant.
Just the beginning with the flatline & the deep tones in the background was enough to give me chills…

See the thing is nobody genuinely cared for her. I mean sure the taxi driver did, but even then we all know she deserved so much more than what she received
Heartbreaking. This episode was repeated on CBS the other day and I had to prepare myself to watch it again. Still tough to watch to this day.
I remember when this aired, I didn’t know she died!
15 years later and I still bawl like a baby. I still get chills. This is an iconic scene. This is damn near a masterpiece.
I watched it when they aired it again but it got cut off halfway through for our governor to give us a live update on the pandemic and this was the only episode he interrupted that whole week! I bet the viewers were sore at him!

After this Sharon’s character fell apart. She has never been the same since Cassie died and it’s just so sad to watch Sharon now...almost always a wreck. Love her anyway
Siz-Anna Glades Yes, omg. I think she would’ve been ok if she would’ve gotten with and married Brad and had babies with him but her character is ruined for me now. She hops from man to man with no real stability.

I kinda dislike the title. This scene is definitely iconic as hell, but I would never describe it as one of my “favourite” scenes. It was utterly saddening, even if it is just a soap opera.
ONE OF THE BEST STORYLINES EVER ON YNR AND MY FAVORITE ACTRESS ON THE SHOW SHARON CASE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR A EMMY 🙄🙄 AND JOSHUA MARROW WERE FANTASTIC TOGETHER 😄😄 THEY HAVE ALWAYS LIT UP THE TV SCREEN 🤗🤗❤️❤️

Kathy Johnson She got into a car with a drunk Daniel and when he passed out on the wheel, she took over. (Cassie never drove a car) and crashed.

Harlan Milleret I had to take a break actually watching the storyline from the beginning and having watched Cassie grow up along with nick and Sharon I wept as if she were real.

14 years old.
Cassie was mirya she just left the show for a couple of years bd then Sharon and nick were going to have a twin named mirya but it was the same girl.
she was gone for 9 years, Cassie died in 2005 and mariah wasn't brought on until 2014. I'm glad camryn was brought back because they didn't even tell her Cassie was gonna die.

i never saw the original episode, but it was shown not too long ago due to covid and repeated episodes. I made sure I had kleenex next to me. OMG I cried, was so sad. =(
