15 years ago it was uncommon for rookie QB to start a game. The expectation is unrealistic. Everyone wants a phenom rookie because you get all the upside and don’t have to pay. It’s resulting in a lot of trash teams because you miss way more than you hit
Or the fact that most of the QBs from our memory either sat behind, or had on the clip board, high caliber veterans teaching them along the way. Rodgers had Favre, Tom Brady had Bledsoe. Of course there are outloers though like Drew Brees or Rivers.

People these days forget that you aren’t a top drafter because you’re just a QB away in most cases, top drafted QBs are usually the first step in addressing a bad team, not the final piece

It always blows my mind when there’s a discussion about the top wide receivers how many analysts leave Amon Ra St Brown out. There’s a quick blurb here and there how well he’s doing, but very seldom does he make the list of the “elite” WR’s… 119 Rec 1515 yards this year and not a starter in the Pro Bowl. His first 3 seasons he’s caught 315 passes for 3588 yards…just first year he only started 9 of 17 games (still played, but only started 9) -- over the last 3 seasons combined hes had more receptions than CeeDee and Jefferson, but he doesn’t make most lists. The kid’s an absolute beast.

One thing I'll say about this Jacksonville squad is we saw something similar with the Sacksonville year, where I think this is a team that didn't live up to its own internal hype cycle. I think when you fall short like that with still a chance to win and you're in its an indictment on many levels not just QB. It makes me think of Joe Theismann when he got one of his first real chances with the Redskins actually, they started out hot and had an epic collapse at a team level. But following that season, those 'Skins teams became very good teams that competed for and won championships and Theismann was a big part in that. My point being I agree with Rich and I think this could be a good thing for everyone involved in the organization. This is a team that could be a lot better next year because of this adversity then that Sacksonville squad and Lawrence could be a big part in that. I certainly believe he has more of an impact on this teams chances then a Blake Bortles did in the same circumstance. But also, I don't view this Jacksonville squad as driven by emotions as that Sacksonville year was by many personalities that didn't handle the adversity well.
After moving to the USA, I guess I'm slowly becoming a Jags fan for reasons I cannot figure out but I've gotta say. Trevor Lawrence just never looks comfortable when he's playing, like he's got a bad case of the jitters. Big plays coming from him almost seem surprising at times. While I won't say he's terrible, I can't say honestly he looks like the qb of the future (at least right now). He has flashes of greatness sure, but those flashes seem to be few and very far between.
It will never happen, but as the Bears, I would heavily consider trading the first round pick, trading Justin Fields, and picking up a bridge QB in FA. Flacco, Rudolph, Minshew, Brisett, and Tyrod are all free agents (this gives them the captial to attract a good coach and use those picks in the next draft). Alternatively, you could go after Cousins and use those picks to get some NFL ready talent immediately.
35:05 Nacua didn't break the 63 year old record because that record is a 14 game record and Nacua took 17 games to better it. So that 14 game record still stands and can only be broken if a player does it within 14 games.
Stfu already. He missed 1 game and you didn't even know. That tells me you are not a fan you don't watch him. If NFL accepts this as a record breaker in history who are you to say no? The NFL will increase regular games so nobody in NFL will break season record forever is that what you are saying? So all those record breakers in the past till this point should not be accounted because they all played more games than the previous seasons. Puka will be in history book whether you like it or not and you can wait till someone breaks his record to say that player is not eligible because he plays more games than Puka if you live to see it. Maybe it's another 63 years.
I can’t have any respect for analysis about Allen/Bills where you don’t also mention that he had 18 interceptions and more turnovers than anyone except Sam Howell who “beat” him by one and more combined interceptions and fumbles than anyone lol
T Law is overrated. Definitely not the QB people thought he would be. Minshew had less weapons to work with and a lesser coaching room and still had a better TD/int ratio. Lawrence is a turnover machine and doesn't offset that with TDs.
Tua will never be as good as Josh Allen in clutch spots. Accuracy and speed is cute and fun when it's working. You can have the most explosive offense in the league. What happens when that speed and fun fizzles out? Tua did what Tua usually does at the end of the season with the division on the line. There's your receipt Tua.

I still find it funny how Daniel Jones never truly proved himself and got paid. Trevor Lawrence gets endless chances to not be criticized fully. Josh allen and Justin Herbert still get passes but we bury Justin Fields who plays for a franchise that never had a franchise QB like come on man
Danny Dimes had some good games and a playoff win. Seems like everyone keeps making excuses for Fields. Also, Herbert has won less than Jones, Burrow has missed his second season, Watson is out and Flacco is winning. What happened to Russ? No easy answers ever.
The 49ers blew out so many teams that before Purdy was sat for week 18 he had already rested 4 fourth quarters. The dude essentially only played 15 games. Hes the MVP.
Raven’s are gonna crush Allen if the Bills come go Baltimore. Hopefully a lesser AFC team will take the kings (Ravens) trash like the Bills out to the dumpster.
Chris Simms had Ceedee Lamb as #1 WR going into the 2020 draft, he had Justin Jefferson as #2. He also did not put Jerry Juedy in the top 5 who most others had as #1.
The Bears situation is so interesting. Picks 1 and 9. Over half of the top 10 picking teams need QBs and there are so many QBs in this draft. If they stick with Fields, they could get a massive haul for the #1 pick and surround him with more talent. But, do they believe Fields is their guy? That's the question.
Cowboys fan here: if Cowboys lose in the wild card round and Jerry Jones decided a HC change is necessary, I would take Dan Quinn over Bill Belechek 100%. It wouldn't even a discussion.
With all of the scenarios of the great stories of players facing their old team, how can they not bring up the juicy divisional matchup that has a good chance to happen? Flacco going back to Baltimore. Takes the Bills, Chiefs and Browns winning this weekend.
And lose 8 out of ten unless Jones is hurt, which destroyed his cred. But noone slams Burrow or Lamar when they get hurt and Jones has more playoff wins than Lawrence, Herbert or Murray.
It took big Mike a while to get in a rhythm calling plays but he’s done great. I was disgusted in my fantasy draft when I had to settle for lamb in the 2nd round because Garrett Wilson, Amon ra and Kupp were sniped 3 consecutive picks before mine. It worked out okay for me.
I will say this as a Colts fan, so my bias is out in the open. I don't think it's that Lawrence isn't who we thought he was. I think Pederson isn't as good as RES members thought he was. I think it turns out, he is just not Urban Meyer.
The Bills will be in the AFC game. I don't know if they make it past the Ravens though. If for any reason they make it to the Super Bowl I don't think that they match well against the 49ers. They will be 0-5 in Super Bowls but Josh Allen will bounce back and they will win a Super Bowl very soon, no doubt about it, the Bills are due for a Lombardi!
The only strike against CJ Stroud was he was "concussed?" So when Purdy was concussed at the end of the MN game (at which point he threw the INTs) and throughout the Bengals game, that was him being "bad?" Phucking please.
If the Bears could trade back to picks 2 or 3 for a haul, they should STILL trade Fields and draft May or Daniels. The rookie contract is still too valuable, and with the haul they could get their can build around either one as well.
If the Lions beat the Rams and the Eagles beat the Bucs, then the 5th seed Eagles would face the 1 seed Niners. The only way the Eagles get another shot at the Cowboys, is if the Rams can beat the Lions. The 6th seed Rams would face the Niners and the Eagles would go to Dallas
I bet the Ravens don't want to see the Steelers again, but other than that, I think the Ravens are the best team in the AFC. The Chiefs kinda struggled against a banged up and injured Dolphins defense.
The playoff qb 3 is broken this yr.. no burrow and no Lawrence means no returning 3 qbs streak. Afc can not bring it back with mahomes, allen, burrow, and Lawrence from 2022-23yr.

My thoughts as well, might get them past the fins but not against half the playoff teams. Then again KC might outdo him in TO.
This show is gold, consummate professionals excelling above the rest 🫡
Did he literally say Justin Fields isn't the player Daniel Jones is yet? I'd take Fields ten out of ten times and not think twice about it.
And lose 8 out of ten unless Jones is hurt, which destroyed his cred. But noone slams Burrow or Lamar when they get hurt and Jones has more playoff wins than Lawrence, Herbert or Murray.
I don't know how you miss Jamar Chase as a top receiver before the season started, but you guys will surely fuel Chase's fire for next season.
5:35 the injuries to playmakers caused the "weird season" this year
Fun final list of old picks by Brockman.
Caleb Williams with be a bust on par with Ryan Leaf. I don't see him succeeding in the NFL like people are saying.
I’ve said for years….Kellen Moore was the absolute worst play caller for Dallas. He’s a stats guy, not a wins guy. Ask the Chargers if I’m not right.
Rich, cmon no need to be throwing out "hip drop tackle" like it's some kind of curse word
Who says the Patriots aren’t a playoff team next year if they draft their own CJ Stroud? The defense is elite
“Tyreek hill started as a house of fire” 😬
… and then he choked. More word play there 😏
The only strike against CJ Stroud was he was "concussed?"
So when Purdy was concussed at the end of the MN game (at which point he threw the INTs) and throughout the Bengals game, that was him being "bad?"
Phucking please.
I thought the bills play the steelers??
The Steelers are in the playoffs solely by John Harbaugh’s charity to his friend Mike Tomlin! 😂😂😂 Don’t fool yourselves Steeler fans! 🤣🤣🤣
If the Bears could trade back to picks 2 or 3 for a haul, they should STILL trade Fields and draft May or Daniels. The rookie contract is still too valuable, and with the haul they could get their can build around either one as well.
Amazing how people forget so quickly that Easton Stick and the 5 win Chargers almost eliminated Bills from the playoffs 2 weeks ago..
Since the NFL is the new WWE, the divisional round will feature Buff vs KC and Browns vs Ravens
Cowboys vs Eagles and Niners vs Lions
Or Lions vs cowboys and niners vs eagles
I sort of expect the Bucs to beat the Eagles in round 1.
@@abbajabba7 Yay!!!
@@Go__Birds Those would be classics.
I bet the Ravens don't want to see the Steelers again, but other than that, I think the Ravens are the best team in the AFC. The Chiefs kinda struggled against a banged up and injured Dolphins defense.
Lawrence hurt most of season(started in London) Justin Fields did enough to stay. Again rb injuries hurt his game.
The playoff qb 3 is broken this yr.. no burrow and no Lawrence means no returning 3 qbs streak. Afc can not bring it back with mahomes, allen, burrow, and Lawrence from 2022-23yr.
While I’m pretty sure the Commanders will end up with Ben Johnson or Mike McDonald as HC watch Washington switch picks with NE and move from the 2nd pick down to the 3rd pick in exchange for bellicheck.
