Congratulations to all of you that guessed what I'm building! It's a pallet wood sauna, and I'll be working on it this winter. If you have watched my other diy builds you know how often I make pallet wood projects. Here is a sneak peek at what I have done so far!

Awesome build! If it were me though, I would not have used OSB for the sheathing. Instead I think I would've sprung for marine grade plywood in a thinner form factor, maybe 1/4" or 5/16".

weve built a pallet outhouse, and a pallet hayshed. we’ve built two saunas each a different construction. But we’ve never combined the two ideas together. This looks so awesome. Looking foreward to more!

Pretty awesome build! I'm planning an octagonal pallet-made sauna with the 8 walls made of 2 pallets (making each wall section 4 feet wide by 6' 8" tall).

Super cool, came for the green house video and a pallet sauna is very much up my alley down the road. I have waterfront overlooking the Puget Sound in Washington, and have been leaning towards a Redwood outdoors kit as they have a giant window option to enjoy the view from the warmth of the sauna, but the cost will be out of range for a long time to come. Do you plan to have a window in your model?

Yes I would love to download your plans. I’m very interested in how you’ll insulate it and protect it from moisture and condensation. I’ve built with pallets before and material quality, e.g. hardness/quality of the wood is a huge variable, but will it matter?

The easiest way for me was to use a cheap plastic greenhouse that i put up on a floor made of pallets. Had to use some better materials for v2.0 since the snow last year killed v1.0
Used pallets to make the sitting benches too.
Yours looks better and more winter proof so id be interested in the designs aswell.

I have been collecting parts to create the same. I recently picked up, very economically, enough cedar planks to line it, which will make it smell nice. Will you be lining it with cedar or more pallet timber. I am using the base of a caravn so I can easily move it around, but your base frame may be a good variation. Thank you.

I just watched a video about using pallets. He said never use the painted pallets. ONLY pallets marked HT (heat treatment) are safe to use. DB means that the wood was debarked. It has no bearing on the safety of the pallet. MB means that hazardous methyl bromide was used to treat the wood, so steer clear of such pallets if you want to use them for your edible garden crops, as they will toxify them with chemicals, which can lead to devastating health complications.

Hello! I'm new to the channel, the design is beautiful. however, I know pallet wood is usually treated with harsh chemicals, is it not dangerous to inhale the fumes as the steam heats the wood?
Actually pallets are typically labeled for use. The majority of which are marked “HT” designating heat treated. These are safe for general use.

I’d love to download the plans, all the other YT videos I’ve watched don’t have cost information or plans available. Of course we don’t have to follow the plans to the t; I go to a camping retreat where the owner would like to have a sauna ( and I want it!) but they don’t have the many thousands of dollars to build or buy a conventional one. I don’t see why this could not be stretched to double or triple length; which would be easier to plan with a set of plans.

What size pallets are you using? Please share plans.
The main pallets are the standard 40"x48", but I'm also using the wood from various other sizes.

I get the craze with pallet projects and this project is particularly cool. However, does anyone know what is on their pallets? Chemicals, bird feces, mold, and any number of things land on old pallets being used over and over again. Please make sure the history of the pallets you are picking up.

I've built with a lot of pallets from a roofing company nearby. Thankfully, most pallets nowadays are only heat treated (identified by a HT, printed or burned into the wood) and these are totally safe for furniture, or as firewood. I even made a cutting board out of a bunch of oak pallet scraps.
