One of the truest statements ever made. Practice this and then just make sure when you are throwing the club you hit the ground 2-4 inches in front of the ball and the results are insane. I went from feeling like I could not swing any harder(was super stiff) and my 7 iron was carrying 150-155 yards. Started this motion and with hitting the ground in front the ball and I saw 188 carry on my 7 iron. And it feels effortless compared to trying to hold angles and match still images of the pros doing shaft lean etc.
New to golf and used to throw the hammer, so I naturally counter the swing, and yeah it really sends the ball (when I make good contact, different matter). There's a lot less to counter because the club head isn't 16 pounds... so I don't like to shift right to start the backswing. I'm finding the key is "just enough" counter, not too little or too much.
Sounds good man. Listen, I’m 59 been playing for 25 years and hover around low 90s golf. Just enough to keep me interested and frustrated at the same time. I often think about walking away from it because all the information sending us in different directions. Guess I’ll try what you’re talking about. :-)
On MSE's channel there was a pretty old video of Roger Dunn showing this counterbalance motion to Christo. When he moved his arms back his lower body moved forward and then vice versa. There was no audio but you could see how he was demonstrating cause and effect in motion or movements. Forces working against each other to create speed. I know there is something to it and your video here helped a little bit. Thanks Roger:)
@bobguilbault If you get to his channel it is a very very old video so you'll need to dig way back(10+ years ago)and even then it's going to be difficult to find because it was a short part in the middle of a video.
@rkswingking i feel like what you're describing is more relevant to a continuous motion swing. There are golfers who don't lose any speed with a full pause at the top and then go. Cam Young and Hideki Matsuyama are great examples.
@allboutthemojo yes they pause however they all have the trigger and there is force before motion and the pause is just letting the club fully set but the pressure has already shifted and then the lower body reacts .. also the speed of the backswing is not slow it’s a forceful connected movement.. people can’t get see the force before motion lots of time
@@rkswingking ok. I'll have to see a bit more carefully how their shift compares to a continuous motion. I use the pause and it's basically my swing now. It helps me with several things
I'll have to play around with this idea a little -- while I have no doubt about increased speed, I have serious doubts about control of the club face and shot accuracy. We'll see.
@@rkswingking I find that hard to believe. I'm going to see if this works, but I'm skeptical of all "this is the secret to golf" videos because if it was really that easy, everyone would be hitting pure drives. I'll give it a try, and I will post my conclusions. I appreciate your sincere "this works" video. Seriously.

@@DavidPereira-jp3me You must have some amazing athletic skills if you're shooting mid-80s after just playing golf for 1 year. I have tried so many golf swing methods and paid for some of the best golf instruction in the US and Canada, yet a good golf swing WITH distance alludes me. My driver distance is now down to 150 yards max. No irons go over 100 yards. So, I am totally stuck with mediocre to poor golf. And it truly pains me.
A little more to this When your club is at 9 your weight is with the club as the club ascends by the club raising past the hands the weight starts to counterbalance ...
Your 100% correct All the greats did this and lots of pros do this instinctively.. However most don't know that if you do this move the rest of the motion should take care of itself if you don't do anything to disturb it .

That's awesome and thanks for taking the time to let me know.
Enjoy the new golf game!
Force before motion man that makes sense

The clubhead becomes fast not only because of accelleration, but the fast stopping of it.

Love it. We’re on the exact same page, brother. I don’t feel like the only guy out here that hates a twisty swing anymore 😂

That's cool... The motion can be subtle or explosive .. depends on the individual.. thanks for the insight
@rkswingking it's probably good for most people to err on the side of overdoing it, just to get the idea.

Check out jimmy Tropicana TH-cam channel. I started playing a year ago and I play low to mid 80 because of his simple golf swing . I promise it works
@DavidPereira-jp3me been following Jimmy for a while. Tried his swing method. Doesn't work for me.

Wow I am so sorry . It really shouldn't be that difficult
Let's work together and see why
Is he saying your body weight or your leg drive snoukd be the opposite side of the golf club?
Yep! When you stay centered your body has to do this counter balance

It's a forward press lol weight of head goes forward and right foot plants and viola!
That's a good feel .. just don't over do the head forward to much
I like your videos but I think Jack was pushing back against the length of the club to srart his swing. Not dragging it like a hammer throw.
Pressure was left then the club moved right agree on the push against
A lot of those great players probably did this naturally.Us normals have to think about it.
