Thank you so much for this video - it really is foundational and so many miss it. We are constantly reminded that we lifted our head up when we hit a bad shot, but that’s only part of this. When we change our and angle and lift our torso, it’s impossible to consistently make good contact since our circle circumference changes. This is great - thanks again!
Thanks David! If hitting behind the ball.....yes make sure the chest is rotating to move the low point forward.........but also.....feel the trail arm and trail wrist more BENT to shorten the radius length (arc height).... Lately I’ve started hitting my irons super low and on the toe. I took lessons and the instructor had me stand super far away from the ball and play the ball farther forward in my stance. I find it harder to get low and compress the ball now and my ball striking hasn’t really improved much. I can’t wait to try this drill because I’m pretty certain I’m standing up at impact. This is good stuff right here
Great video. My early extension was caused by having my hips too deep to start which left me nowhere to go but stand up. Your last video covered this exact thing. These lessons are awesome.

I love how you explain so many aspects of what you are trying to do. 1). The goal. And what is the good. 2). The most common pitfalls people are falling into and why its not working for them. 3). How to fix it, the feels...and WHY it will work. Thanks for all the great content.
I changed to a baseball ten fingers grip a couple of years ago, it's kinda like a split hand grip. Certainly made a huge difference to my ball striking. I did play ice hockey in my 20-30s longer ago than i care to remember, for year's i never thought about ice hockey being like golf, but it certainly is.
Eric, a hurdle here for me was trying to view the shot like I do on TV. It took awhile to understand that I will see my shot but not until the ball has just about reached its apex. I also had to embrace using the ground by pushing my feet down which then I started feeling a difference in my swing otherwise if I extend too early I am now in different planes and my solid contact will be a hit and miss sequence which is not the consistency we are after.
Feet have had a lot to do with it with me. Used to be a lifter of the heel. Keeping my feet planted has helped a lot not sure why but I'm thinking getting into the heel was either too late, didn't happen, mixed with reverse spine angle. Instead of allowing the lead shoulder to do something different than the trail
Hey Eric, nice video. One of the vexing questions I have had to clean up ground contact is how to reduce the swing radius into impact ( to avoid deep divots). Sometimes it feels standing up helps that. Pulling the arms closer to the body into impact is that a thing?
Hey! Yeah you want to shorten the radius from the trail arm and trail wrist Both being more bent through the hit the more you stand up the longer your right arm and wrist need to be to get to ball The more you stay down the shorter your right arm and wrist need to be to get to the ball Full details here: th-cam.com/video/EtGRf3FSY34/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUhRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHN0YXkgZG93biB0aGlzIHdvcmtz th-cam.com/video/Lbluc0YCwlE/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUjRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIG1hdGNoaW5nIGFybXMgYW5kIGJvZHk%3D
Hey Eric, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
Every time i watch Trevor something seems weird with his swing. I just realized it is his left leg bent at impact and follow through. Can you address this with him in a video? I’d like to hear this explained.

All of these videos just show me that I have no idea what my body is doing and need lessons 🥲 Former baseball player who struggles with his slice and clearing my hands through impact. Every time I hit my ball goes short and to the right :(

Appreciate it Dave! Thanks for watching!
Love the thought of the chest out & up Eric. I tend to hit behind the ball when I work on staying down. 40 years of early extending maybe erased.

Love that drill Eric
Thanks Janet!
Wow... what a bold fashion statement.. Its kind of like gilligan meets picasso.
:)
I see a golf swing training aid that incorporates this split hand grip and be able to hit balls with it.
Not a bad idea!!!
Does this drill apply to driver as well, albeit not hitting the ground?
Hey! If youre standing up too much with driver and want to feel how to keep inclination to group yeah for sure could use for driver (and all clubs)

That split hand drill is clever Eric but it' really all about the shoulders isn't it?- Be good-Russ
Thanks! Not sure where I first saw the split grip from but I really like it! Sure is!
Every time i watch Trevor something seems weird with his swing. I just realized it is his left leg bent at impact and follow through. Can you address this with him in a video? I’d like to hear this explained.
We'll see if that comes up for next shoot :)
Can you add some slowmo to see your positions of the swing?
Noted for future videos! In the meantime, you can go into the TH-cam player settings and make the playback super slow motion, in case it helps! :)
@@CogornoGolf I find frame loss in TH-cam settings, but if you record in slow mo at 240fps, better resolution.
What is the brand of men's hats in red pants?
I love the idea but when I try the hockey swing I keep hitting the mat way behind the ball. What causes that?
Hey Tony....could be a couple of things but I would start by making sure you turn your body toward the target more (rotation) early in the downswing
Am I too late for the discount?
