The idea of extended Flog-based Co-Optitude episodes actually makes me really happy, as it raises a possibility of an extended Battletoads episode, and potentially more of Ryon's hilarious chicken voice :)
Finally! I requested that they play this game awhile back. I never knew that they had already played it for another show. Nonetheless I'm glad I got to see this. Cheers to Felicia and Ryon!
+Moku IKR. Back when things were starting off and he was actually being "professional" for his sis. Then the inner troll brother came out and he stopped giving a shit. Huehuehue
Memories of my childhood. I bought a Mega Drive (European version of Genesis) from a friends older brother and it came with an imported copy of this game. You had to crack open the cartridge and plug the circuit board into the console. It made it feel even more bad-ass. I also remember trying to pause the game to catch upskirts of Blaze.. Sweet adolescence...
One of my all time favorites till this day! I was a kid when this came out.i know they have tried to bring back the game before but it weren't on deaf ears. Come on sega bring this back to life!!!
I used to play this game every chance I would get. I'd come home after school and hope my brother would be at a friend's house so I could get on the Sega Mega Drive :-)
A button is the special, (the cops) the birthday cake, was an extra special xD you have 2 specials when starting the game... better use those durring Boss battles
I love that when Ryon says Sh!t, Felicia tells him try not using profanity. Now, one of my favorite parts is their cursing, that and Ryon surprising us with his stored knowledge and vocabulary.
Fingers crossed that this 'origin-story' flashback video helps newer fans discover more of the Flog Retro-Gaming Segments! For those who don't know, if you look up those segments, you can see Felicia and Ryon play Streets of Rage, Sega Bass-fishing, Toejam and Earl, Gunstar Heroes, Battletech, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, NBA Jam, Daze Before Christmas, Mortal Kombat, Shaq Fu, and Battletoads.
Wow, just unbelievable that neither of you could figure out that the cops coming was your special move. Theres even a big "S" at the top with a number by it that goes down every time you use it. Its hard to believe that two people can be so inept and unaware, and it is pretty much a running theme in all of your co-optitudes.
I can understand their confusion. Special moves don't normally interrupt the game and throw the screen 100 feet to the left. That's much more like a cutscene, like they thought it was when they triggered it at the very start while learning the buttons. The only real clue was that attack didn't hit them but even then that might be something that they were just lucky to randomly avoid.
wipeout2098 Ah, no. The only real CLUES were that it wasnt hurting them, the huge "S x Y" at the top of the screen which was going down each time it happened, and(maybe the most obvious one here) the fact that they knew they had a "power move" that neither of them knew how to do, and theres only THREE BUTTONS. One of which they didnt know what it did.
Ahh the humble beginnings of Ryan's beard began here (in non existance) what random facial atrocity will Ryan have next wek? TUNE IN same beard time, same beard channal!
I loved how it was try not to swear at the start and now they swear like sailors, its awesome, and cmon you guys couldn't pick that was the special attacks?
Oh Lord, Streets of Rage was my first Sega Genesis game. Seeing this hurts XD I'm trying to get to the end of the video to see if they find out that there are special co-op punches and kicks between the two players...
Wow, I had the same childhood experience. No nintendo or playstation. I actually did have Mathblaster and Mavis Beacon. Helped me to type better than my friends!! Hell yeah!!
This game is 16 bit, the graphics aren't that bad. And, this soundtrack is one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Respect what you're doing! I do an aftershow for AfterBuzz Network for Arrow and I knew nothing about the comic. Out of respect for the viewers I went back and started reading the comic and it didn't seem like it made much of a difference...but after watching your coverage of Streets of Rage...I understand now how much of a difference it makes to know a little bit about the game! Thank you??
Maybe it's because Streets of Rage is one of my all time favorites, but the fact that they never realized that the cars driving up and firing guns at them were their SPECIALS drove me crazy. There's a attack button, a jump button, and a SPECIAL button. Oh well, Co-Optitude is still awesome!
I think, if I remember correctly, if you press up on the D-pad, and punch after you get flipped by your attacker, you land on your feet. I dont know how I discovered this back then. I played it on Game Gear.
exactly with one of the early games with best back story at the time, you even could choose to be good or bad in the end, pretty advanced for that game generation
The game has an 80s pop metal aesthetic, especially with the wardrobes. It reminds me of Fatal Fury and Final Fight. I'm sure the Amiga couldn't have been that bad. It had Marble Madness!
Hasn't Felicia gotten annoyed with Ryon when he has jumped past the backstory in previous episodes? Now we have proof that it was her bad influence that led to Ryon's apathy. For shame Felicia, FOR SHAME! :P
Sor II is still the best brawler of all time. My friend and I play these games all the time. Also be sure to check out the lovely Streets of Rage Remake if it's still available.
I can't believe they played through half the game and didn't realize that they were activating the special cop-super-weapon. Looks like their moms effort to prevent brain rot failed.
I'm curious: Have you learned that the police are the power attack triggered by the A button? You can see how many you have by the S symbol besides the health bar.
I've heard devices / VGA adapters built to add back scan lines will improve the experience of old games. It will make the low res graphics look better on modern high res screen. I'd recommend you try it and tell us if it was good or sucked :-)
I wonder if they ever figured out , that they were the ones calling the cop who was coming to help them with bazookas with... I'm guessing the A button?
Please please do 'Toe Jam and Earl on the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive). You'll love it. Best two player game there was. You get to open presents, do I need to say anymore.
New episode next week (with my short hair), this week we have a flashback to Co-Optitude's origins with an extended cut of Streets of Rage!
fun stuff! I must say Golden Axe is the shizzle :))
Hell yea streets of rage, now that's what im talking about
Now lets see some Road Rage, thats a title I could watch a video of... off I go searching.
U R awesome Felicia . D....:):)
Kurt Van Wagenen pretty sure they did it...but they played the first one, which is not multiplayer! Whoever does their research is a noob!
FLOGSHBACK! Flashback... The Flog...? Yeah?
Next week's a brand new episode! Can you predict what Felicia and Ryon will play?
The idea of extended Flog-based Co-Optitude episodes actually makes me really happy, as it raises a possibility of an extended Battletoads episode, and potentially more of Ryon's hilarious chicken voice :)
It's astonishing that they managed to get through the whole playthrough without realising what the A button was doing 8-)
Finally! I requested that they play this game awhile back. I never knew that they had already played it for another show. Nonetheless I'm glad I got to see this. Cheers to Felicia and Ryon!
1:22 'Try not with the profanity' Losing battle from day 1.
"Let's play this fucker."
You guys are so much happier here than in recent episodes of co-optitude. You actually look like you're having fun and enjoying each others company.
awe ryon was such a baby lamb. now he has his own catchphrase and facial hair. they grow up so fast.
Jesus, look at Ryon being quiet and behaving himself... Unsettling.
+Moku IKR. Back when things were starting off and he was actually being "professional" for his sis.
Then the inner troll brother came out and he stopped giving a shit. Huehuehue
7:45 does anyone know whether or not Felicia got a bottle? It's kind of vague; she doesn't make it very clear.
I love the insights on how you two beat the crap out of one another as kids!
I know this feel.
Ryon singing West Side story is perhaps one of the funniest things I've heard
I... suspect that the cops were your Special Move. That's why that button only worked once every life ("S2" box on top).
That is exactly correct :)
This is literally the only time Felicia skipped the backstory when Ryon wanted it...how the tables have turned XD
Haha love this video. And so you guys know the cops are your special move in the game. I laughed so hard at you trying to figure it out
These really were kinder, gentler Days. So soft spoken :)
the police cut scene is your special attack......... how do you not know that after using it a million times lol
Looking forward to more new episodes. Thanks for giving me a reason to smile/laugh once a week!
One of my all time favorites till this day! I was a kid when this came out.i know they have tried to bring back the game before but it weren't on deaf ears. Come on sega bring this back to life!!!
Oooohh Streets of Rage, my fave when growing up.. fun times was had by all!
you guys just have so much fun with these old games.
I used to play this game every chance I would get. I'd come home after school and hope my brother would be at a friend's house so I could get on the Sega Mega Drive :-)
Pretty fun seeing the origin of this series
For the record, Shadow of the Beast and Super Turrican were better than anything on consoles.
Amiga represent, etc.
A button is the special, (the cops)
the birthday cake, was an extra special xD
you have 2 specials when starting the game... better use those durring Boss battles
I love that when Ryon says Sh!t, Felicia tells him try not using profanity. Now, one of my favorite parts is their cursing, that and Ryon surprising us with his stored knowledge and vocabulary.
This is my favorite episode. Mainly because they are much more funny when they are not swearing.
A game I loved was Disney's Aladdin on the Sega console. The carpet ride through the Cave of Wonders is the hardest damn part.
So that's where the whole backstory crazyness took its roots.
CO-OPTITUDE always makes me smile & laugh 'til it hurts!
Played this game all the time with my friend growing up. sor 2 and sor 3 were awesome as well.
At one point I was literally roaring at the screen 'the A button is the special move!'
i could watch you guys talk about street apples all day lol. hilarious even though it was a 'Flogshback' XD can't wait for new eps! keep 'em coming!
Hmm. Something seems missing, but I think I can fix it.
Cover your ears kids.
**inhales**
FUUUUUUuuuu... you get the idea.
YES! The Co-optitude lives on!
And now you can go back to your little basement and be so happy that you're so much smarter than the people on the TH-cam.

The boss music was awesome. Felicia, I'm a huge fan. Thanks for the entertainment.
Loved my Amiga when I was a youngster. Dungeon Master had to be my favourite game.
Ahh the humble beginnings of Ryan's beard began here (in non existance) what random facial atrocity will Ryan have next wek? TUNE IN same beard time, same beard channal!
The beard is tolerable as long as he doesn't get a van.
Also, Ryon's beard makes him look like an Ye Olde Inventor.
And so the hilarious trip down memory lane that is Co-Optitude began!
Damn it. Make "let's play this fucker" shirts already. Lol. You guys are always awesome
7:46
Felicia: "I got a bottle"
Ryon:"You better cut a b..."
Just say it. You know you wanted to. :)
I loved how it was try not to swear at the start and now they swear like sailors, its awesome, and cmon you guys couldn't pick that was the special attacks?
"Try not, with the profanity, maybe."
Lol amazing.
Every time they call in the cops and think something random is happening I'm all like "Grrrraaaaaaaaah."
THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE SWEARING!!!! And you need an uncensored version of these shows
I get inspited when you play these old games. It's a real inspitation for me.
And then Ryon blossomed into the beautiful bearded R-Dawg we know today.
I watched this flog just the other day, I had completely missed that they occasionally played together on the flog
Wait, this aint cooptitude.....this is a co-copout
Oh Lord, Streets of Rage was my first Sega Genesis game. Seeing this hurts XD I'm trying to get to the end of the video to see if they find out that there are special co-op punches and kicks between the two players...
Wow, I had the same childhood experience. No nintendo or playstation. I actually did have Mathblaster and Mavis Beacon. Helped me to type better than my friends!! Hell yeah!!
"why the dominatrix?"
"why not?"... lol
Nothing tells me this is an early episode more than a warning from Felicia to watch the profanity. Retroactively hilarious.
This game is 16 bit, the graphics aren't that bad. And, this soundtrack is one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Respect what you're doing! Thank you??
Yay reruns!
No, it's an extended cut! :) .
tanner1ie Yay extended re-runs!
James Akers :) .
Still one of my favorites.
I think, if I remember correctly, if you press up on the D-pad, and punch after you get flipped by your attacker, you land on your feet. I dont know how I discovered this back then. I played it on Game Gear.
If they're doing Extendaflogs for all the Co-Op Retro Gaming segments, Battletech, Battletoads and Gunstar Heroes are going to be amazing. :D
Nice team work at 3:04
I like how Felicia skipped the back-story in the beginning and Ryon called her on it.
This is hilarious - and at the same time it's totally painful how bad they are at it, lol! You need to play Streets of Rage 2!
I just knew you guys were going to use the special attack within the first 5 seconds :)
you have become my favorite youtube show !
"Try not... with the profanity."
Thanks Felicia, I really wanted my Diet Coke all over my iPad.
The one time Felicia wants to skip the back story.
exactly with one of the early games with best back story at the time, you even could choose to be good or bad in the end, pretty advanced for that game generation
LET'S PLAY THIS FUCKER.
I think a fun game to play would be Moto Roader on the turbografx 16. I have so much fun with friends playing that game in my youth.
ah streets of rage this brings back memories, i owned the game gear version of this one. fun as hell.
Now you need to upload the extended version of Battletoads which was by far the best game you have played thus far!
Felicia yelling "I want the pipe. Give me the pipe." Was so creepy and hilarious.
The game has an 80s pop metal aesthetic, especially with the wardrobes. It reminds me of Fatal Fury and Final Fight. I'm sure the Amiga couldn't have been that bad. It had Marble Madness!
Severe lack of Ryan beard
You guys definitely need to play Sunset Riders on the SNES.
Hasn't Felicia gotten annoyed with Ryon when he has jumped past the backstory in previous episodes? Now we have proof that it was her bad influence that led to Ryon's apathy. For shame Felicia, FOR SHAME! :P
Need... more... Cooptitude....
But no seriously. I love this stuff. Keep it coming. Don't stop.
The Flog was a 10... Cooptitude is a solid 9.8975.
The entire episode they didn't realize that the cops that were showing up were their special moves.
Sor II is still the best brawler of all time. My friend and I play these games all the time. Also be sure to check out the lovely Streets of Rage Remake if it's still available.
I was a SNES kid growing up, but if I had to choose between Final Fight and Streets of Rage, I'd have to go with Streets of Rage.
hahaha I love the PvP in this one
"You'll notice far less swearing. Enjoy!"
Puh, and im gone........
~secretly watching it anyway~
...but I like the swearing.
If you're ever in Vancouver again I'd totally kill to play some videogames with you
I can't believe they played through half the game and didn't realize that they were activating the special cop-super-weapon. Looks like their moms effort to prevent brain rot failed.
It amuses me that they never figured out that the A button was calling the cops in.
Ryon looks how I imagine a real life 20-something Bart Simpson would look with that hair cut...
I wonder if they ever figured out , that they were the ones calling the cop who was coming to help them with bazookas with... I'm guessing the A button?
FELICIA SKIPS THE BACKSTORY WHAT BIZZARO UNIVERSE HAVE I FALLEN INTO?!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!
4:30 sweet suplex!
ryon became a computer programmer(?) and felicia was had double majors, maybe their mother was right all along
"Try not with the profanity" Ahahaha yeeeaaah that turned out well :P Though it's fine it adds...life? Yes, life.
The Filthy Street Apples could be a highschool punk band. They only dress in denim and wear knee pads over their jeans
Hah!!! "Try not to use profanity"
Oh how things changed.
You need to play some of the Donkey Kong games or Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Please please do 'Toe Jam and Earl on the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive). You'll love it. Best two player game there was. You get to open presents, do I need to say anymore.
