    After many years of stitching, I became frustrated and gave up 10 years ago due to failing eyesight, together with struggling with various stands, lamps and magnifiers. During the current covid lockdown in the UK, I decided to research some aids to enable me to try to start work again on a large piece that was half finished, and came across your video on the Lowery Stand. I decided immediately that this was just what I needed - assembled it this morning and have happily been stitching all day! Thank you Pam for your inspirational video, hope there are more to follow. Best wishes from North Yorkshire, and stay safe.

      Oh, Pat! I’m sooooo happy for you! And, Lowery headquarters are right there. I KNOW they are expensive, but Check out the CraftOptic glasses with the Dream Light. Another stitcher friend ordered them from the USA after trying unsuccessfully with some knock offs. She, too, is doing the happy dance and stitching! Nothing can keep us down with our passion for stitching and I’m sure still cheaper than therapy. Lolololol

    You are very good at teaching how to use this stand. I just purchased this stand, so your video "really" helped me allot! Thank you! Great video!!

    Thanks for this! I also use a large Quantum frame and a part on my Monstrik stand broke. I can’t stitch without a stand, so I frantically searched for something else and you totally sold me. You really answered all my questions well. Happy stitching. :)

    Oh I like you; you're lovely! Thank you for providing ALL the information I need. My major concern in choosing a stand is to find something that works in my recliner with good posture as I can't see without my work close. Also haven't yet found a comfortable magnification solution so including your lamp and glasses info also hugely helpful. I had previously dismissed the Lowry (just from pictures) thinking it wouldn't give the reach I needed in the recliner - so now I know it's worth another look. Fabulous - top Lady x - Thank you (and your cameraman) again :O)

    Great video!!! I think I have a lowery stand. The design is basically the same. Just the knobs are a bit different. Really like the frame adapter. I've just been using the clamp for now. But I have a haed that will be on a big frame and the adapter would be perfect. So glad I found your video. Also thank you for showing your stitching spot and lounge chair. We are currently looking at those for our tv room and I want one for my stitching area. Your video was very helpful!!!

    I notice your veins on your hand is bruised may I say Massaging them with Aloe vera gel and vicks vapor rub after your work will release the soreness and stress of your hand Aloe vera juice is a healing element can be a good beverage mix it with your favorite juice good for your break time to release your stress inside with your hands massage with Aloe vera gel too
    I hope I can find those stand and the stencil for "big peacock" (facing front)
    God Bless you mam

    Quantum frames can be purchased from Omanik Factories. Www.omanikfactory.com Anton & Alexi are wonderful to work with. Since the release of this video, they have also come out with horizontal side stretchers (usuful for large projects 36 inch or larger). These will give additional stretch/tension horizontally to your fabric if you wish.

    Where did you purchase the sliding wood adapter? I found the Lowery Stand and attachments at Stitcher's Paradise in the US. But, didn't see the sliding adapter. =(. Thank you for the wonderful video. =)

    Hi Pam, thank you for your fantastic videos. My favorite tip is using the gauze for tensioning. I purchased an inside dimension 16” highx36” wide antique frame and extended an “Ellen Stroh Roses in their Splendor” design to fit. The Jobelan is 26”x46”. I used a Qframe for 30 years and I thought it would be fine. Wrong! I now have the Lowery stand and Quantum frame. I had to fold over the ends of the fabric to fit which caused a gap in the already finished part of the design and I couldn’t get the tension I needed. The design was too heavy since I also have trouble in my thumbs and I have Macular Degeneration. I’m determined to finish my design that I’ve already been working on for over 2 years. I checked with Omanik for a 120cm. They can make it but it would cost $242 for just shipping and it would have a brace on it. Are there any tricks that would make it easier when I fold the excess fabric on the ends? Thank You, Gail. I’m impatiently waiting for the next video.

    The wood adapter, Extension Frame was purchased from Sew & So and is an indispensable accessory as far as I am concerned. Best results for the Lowery Frame is achieved by placing the base plate unde& the leg of your couch, chair, recliner, etc. Otherwise, use a 10-lb plate weight to anchor.

    I use up,to a 36 inch Quantum frame with my Lowery. I have had no reason to go larger than this.

  • @bisbingb
    @bisbingb  6 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you prefer to work on a frame that is directly in front of you, the Mo steric Frame is the best I have worked with. This footprint, however, did not work well for me as I have a re liner loveseat, with a service table on the side. Hence, a very small footprint is needed. I.e. the Lowery is the ONLY frame that will work efficiently for my stitch nest.

    Why not turn the clamp round so the tightening lever is on the top instead of underneath your frame, it makes life so much easier
