This is the longplay of the game Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos, a platform game released exclusively for the Super Nintendo in the United States and Europe. The game's protagonist is the Mexican mouse Speedy Gonzales, a Warner Bros. character.
The story of this game begins on a party day in a small Mexican village, where all the mice were celebrating and having fun. Everyone was very happy, until the feared bandit cats appeared and kidnapped all the rodents. That would certainly be a catastrophe, but they did not realize that one of the mice, Slowpoke Rodriguez, had escaped. Realizing the imminent danger to his companions, Rodriguez asks for help to Mexico's fastest rat, Speedy Gonzales!
It is a typical platform game, in which the Speedy will need to pass through levels, collect items and kick enemies to defeat them. Our hero must also rescue the rats that were kidnapped by the Bandit Cats. Rescuing all rats requires knowledge of the scenario and time is limited, but each rescued mouse serves as a checkpoint as well. The soundtrack follows the style of the game, with a strong Latin American influence, which is well suited to this game.
This game represented an era where fast animals were a trend in 16-bit video games, where many companies created characters or used characters already made (as in the case of Speedy Gonzales) to take advantage of the hype. Speedy Gonzales: Los Gatos Bandidos is a good game, heavily influenced by Sonic The Hedgehog but this Speedy game has less speed and little variety of enemies. I really like Speedy Gonzales, he is one of my favorite cartoon characters, but he has the potential for even more epic adventures than the one portrayed in this game.
This Speedy Gonzales game received an unlicensed version for SNES, made by the Peruvian group Twin Eagles Group, which became quite famous, mainly in Brazil. This unlicensed version was titled Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (also known as Sonic SNES to avoid confusion with the real Sonic the Hedgehog 4), where Speedy Gonzales was replaced by Sonic, and the caged mice he saves are replaced by the character Mario.
This video by Speedy Gonzales was made 100%, all trapped mice were found in this video.

Born ‘93, i can’t recall if we had bought this or idk but we had this and I don’t think I ever got past surely woods, i think this is the first game that introduced me to secret passages. The sounds, stage and enemies are making me feel all fuzzy inside lol so many memories, never got past surely woods so just hearing the sounds of the wooden platforms moving is just great 🥲
when I was 4 or 6 my mother would always put this game on and we would always just enjoy playing and take turns I would mostly barely be playing since I sucked this made me remember how long ago this was released

I really love it, yes, it has clear inspirations from the Sonic games, but Speedy can stand on his own. While the speed in the old Sonic games are quite, rare, and never, really a importent thing. The speed is this game is a necessary tool to advance. besides that. The level design is very good, the controlls are close to perfekt, the challenge is there, and the soundtrack is amazing.

@@jorgitoislamico4224 Yes indeed. Speed is not importent at all in Sonic games when it comes to the core gameplay. Many Sonic games has very little speed overall, like The first MD game, or the Mster system version, that plays more like aMario game. I gave played every single Sonic game, ever realesed. Have you?

@@jorgitoislamico4224 Well then you know what i mean. I mean, yes, there are many moments with speed in the games, but not as much as many people like to say. But my point was that the speed in the Sonic games is usually not something you have to rely on to complete the stages, while in this Speedy Gonzales Game, you really have to use the speed to advance many obstacles.

Man, this video bring my 2004/2005 memories back where i remember i played random snes rom especially Sonic 4 hack of this snes on ZSNES emulator on computer as kid during got home from elementary school.
During playing original version of this snes game on 2013 as 19 year old teenager, I literally learned Sonic 4 snes hack is rom hack of Speedy Gonzales whole times.

It's like Sonic but with the ability to actually be able to react to stuff in front of you in time and avoid taking unfair damage, which is funny considering how much smaller a horizontal view the SNES has when compared to the Genesis. It could just be the person playing knows the levels though. Either way, it's pretty cool seeing this on SNES.
You can find pirated version of this game where Speedy was changed into Sonic and hostages into Mario

I used the Snes9x 1.60 emulator. And the rom I chose version 1.1, which does not give these problems that you mentioned.

game looks easy but it's actually pretty tough
I once had the game myself, it took me some time to get through some hard levels, but I beat the game though.
difficulty peaks in the space level, with castle level and ice level having some messed up places. last level ends up being almost as easy as the first.

The error where pressing the button the game freezes is of the emulators or too pass in the SNES original? You play in the SNES original?
I played on an emulator, but the rom I used was 1.1, which does not have this error, even if you play on an outdated emulator. The 1.0 version, I believe, only works perfectly with an original cartridge on the original SNES.
Another similar case was that of Mega Man X pirate or repro cartridge with rom 1.0, it will activate the anti-piracy lock and remove all your upgrades when passing the level, making the game unplayable (while the japanese version did not have this problem, which is why it was used on pirated cartridges in the 90s). The 1.1 version of Mega Man X fortunately works perfectly and has no structural differences compared to version 1.0, unlike Speedy Gonzales Los Gatos Bandidos on SNES, which has a lot of difference between the versions (including the title screen) and you can check them out on SNESCentral.

Llegué dos veces al nivel del cohete la primera vez se me trabo en el botón del 41:47 con todo mi dolor perdí la partida era solo un niño, la segunda vez pocas semanas después paso lo mismo de ahí se me quedo muy grabado lo que era un bug, hoy puedo ver lo qué pasa después enserio GRACIAS.
Muchas gracias por tu comentario. Sobre este bug, se da en la revisión 1.0 de este juego (que da este problema si juegas en emulador, pero funciona perfectamente y sin bug si juegas directamente en consola). Si usa la revisión 1.1, este error del botón verde no ocurre en el emulador. Este video fue hecho con la versión 1.1 del juego precisamente para evitar que yo tenga que morir para avanzar en el juego.

I remember that glitch, I think it's been resolved on SNES 9X. As for ZSNES, no fix for that emulator. So word of advice, stick with SNES 9X going forward. MAME will have Super Nintendo fully emulated soon enough.
pronto quiero que saquen este juego en una versión europea y una versión japonesa como super famicom (super nintendo) sin tener que pagar regalías y que hagan su portada en la versión europea y en la versión japonesa pero para eso hay que pedir permiso. Si haces esto sin autorización, pensarán que es piratería y corregirán algunos errores para resolverlo.
