Zelda's golden age of storytelling is over, it died with wind waker(the last original and good story), and since then we just got derivative narratives with no balls to touch on deep and interesting subjects. It just became your generic high fantasy story with a destined hero.
Past are the days of majoras mask or links awakening, now its just the repetitive ''le evil ganondorf is revived for the 100th time and he's evil just because he's evil/cursed, and Link has to defeat him because he's amazing and the only swordsman in all of hyrule that is good enough to fight him because he's destined yadda yadda yadda''.

Prime Hunters needs more love. It may not control like the main Prime Trilogy, but it's a freaking 3D, full FPS shooter, with bots, back then was online and had voice chat through the DS' microphone. And it was on the Nintendo DS!!! That's just mind blowing!

I feel that a remake of that game for the Switch using the aesthetic of the Metroid Prime remake would give it a better chance
Federation Force had a lot of things I'm not happy with, but at least the marines of the Galactic Federation are getting some much needed recognition. Now, a spin off of the Prime series that stays true to the formula established by the first game where you play as a marine instead of Samus would be something I can work with.

Fed Force is actually a good game if you have friends to play with. I'll also add that it suffered from a really poor release time, being the first game in 6 years after Other M killed the franchise.

I used to love it too, but Sakamoto did fucked up big time with that
And it wasn't even Team Ninja's fault. Literally everyone there were asking "why aren't we using the nunchunk ?" And sakamoto really did force the thing just because of some bs about the horizontal wiimote looking like an snes controller. Same with the Samus Theme that lost it's heroic tone and went for melodramatic piano.
At least it seems that he learned from that, especially since Samus Returns. The addition of Proteus Ridley was a damn nice surprise, it means that Sakamoto now acknowledges Metroid Prime and gives more flesh to Meta Ridley because we know Meta Ridley is just Ridley reforming his flesh underneath.
So yeah at least he's learned from his mistakes and that's great

@@clementrenaud4260 it's not like it didn't fumble enough with the original JP dub. That only makes the characters actually sound right, and Samus less like a sub to Adam, and Adam less like a creep. Though, I'll give them this, it made Anthony the best damn character in the game, all things considered.
Meanwhile, we still have the awful in-game justification of not using our abilities because we don't "have permission". Some are worse offenders than others, I get the Power Bomb and most offensive abilities, even the Speed Booster, maybe not the bombs or the missiles, if we're not dumb enough to shoot survivors with our basic Power Beam, we won't be dumb enough to hurt them with those weapons either. But I definitely do NOT get the Varia and Gravity Suits or Grapple Beam, and ones like the Wave Beam were just poorly executed.
We still have Samus suffer PTSD for encountering Ridley... after having killed him twice, so it's not like there's any surprise factor anyways. And what about our favorite, classic moment where Samus says she's exhilarated about the idea of taking orders from Adam again? Fifty Shades of Malkovich is looking good, lemme tells ya.
And, of course, we still have Adam shoot her in the back over what could've been discussed between them (it's not like Samus' a bounty hunter that has been through the most dangerous missions not even the Feds were able to pull through, oh wait she is), or heck, given to Samus for her to deal with. After all, fighting Metroids is her thing, resistant to ice or not.
But hey, guess they wanted to justify Adam's death after Super Metroid (and somehow get him recovered by the Feds to integrate as an AI by the time of Fusion). I still agree that they could've chosen an entirely different setting for the story, like during Samus' time in the Federation, but what the hell, right?

Then again i have patience with games and come from a day when 8 and 16 bit were what we had and found enjoyment in the simplest ways of game play, graphics and mechanics and finding our own enjoyment in them. Sooo to each their own.
@seriousbismuth2173 I wasn't bothered with it gameplay wise. Hell, I still own a copy of fusion and have been playing it every couple of years since I was a kid.
I have no problem with age, and it's not like every Metroid game story is perfect. But they aren't nearly riddled with as many issues as OM. It's the only one I don't return to because I can't avoid that story.

Metroid Dread was one of the best things I’ve played in a long time. It can get hard as hell and I usually don’t have the temperament for hard games but Dread is so damn rewarding to play if you just stick through it.

@@SSJBELI I would definitely recommend playing it with others. The game is fun enough in singleplayer, but it's clear that it was designed around multiplayer and that's where it shines the most.
Controls aren't too tough to adjust to either. I usually find myself sticking with the default, which is based on the GC games and what Prime Remastered based its "Hybrid" scheme off of. There's a twin stick mode if you have a New 3DS or Circle Pad Pro too, though I usually end up sticking with the default since I'm not too big of a fan of the stock C-Stick and you can't use gyro without locking on in that mode.

Agree with all of these except I don't care much for Pinball and Hunters and actually enjoy Other M (when I just skip all the cutscenes and play the game. It's not a good Metroid game, but I love it as an action game).

The main flaws are the lack of a map, and Samus's health and weapons resetting to zero when she dies. Those should have been filled up when you continue or enter a password.

@@zaescorin if you've played any metroid game you'll instantly fall in love in just how fluid and smooth the gameplay and graphics are. Get it man, in terms of getting the powerups it's a little more hand holdy than other metroid games and the EMMI sections are a pain in the ass at times but it's just too good to pass up metroid fan or not. Great game to start with if you've never played any other 2D metroid. Just get it brother

Graphically yes it's gorgeous and I don't hate Samus's redesign to be sexier.
But they destroyed her character for no reason and the Ridley scene was confusing as hell. Nearing the end of the timeline Ridley has come back 5 times at least so she shouldn't have a PTSD scene which was never indicated to even be a thing even in data logs from other games.
